QAR 50 for rapid antibodies and antigen tests

Doha: The Ministry of Public Health has set the price of covid-19 rapid tests in private health facilities at no more than 50 riyals for testing, after allowing private sector facilities to conduct two new types of virus testing: rapid antibody testing and antigen testing. The ministry explained that allowing the private sector to conduct these types of tests is part of the ministry’s plan to allow the private health sector to participate in the fight against the “Covid-19” pandemic, pointing out that the ministry has long allowed the private sector to conduct the PCR test to make the number of tests for Covid-19 that can be carried out in the private sector 3.

It is worth mentioning that the rapid antigen testing provides reasonably quick and accurate results for the detection of COVID-19, and this examination is carried out for various purposes, including the evaluation of the condition of the patient who shows respiratory symptoms and in the pre-admission stage of the patient to the hospital for minor surgeries, and the rapid antigen testing requires a nasal swab and the results of this examination usually appear within 15 minutes.

Antibody testing at approved private health facilities also allows for the determination of the level of immunity against COVID-19 in people who have previously been infected with the virus and in people who have received the vaccine against it, and can be performed in private health facilities by doctors and trained nursing and medical staff.

Two types of antibody test are rapid examination, which includes inserting a drop of blood into a small test device, the results of which usually appear within 15 minutes, and a detailed examination in which a blood sample is taken from the patient and sent to Hamad Medical Corporation’s main laboratory for serological analyses of the sample. The introduction of new screening procedures and allowing them to be practiced by private health facilities is of great importance, as it would strengthen the COVID-19 screening strategy and enable people in Qatar to access more health care services.

الدوحة: حددت وزارة الصحة العامة سعر اختبارات «كوفيد-19» السريعة في المنشآت الصحية الخاصّة بألا يزيد على 50 ريالًا للفحص، وذلك بعد السماح لمنشآت القطاع الخاص بإجراء نوعين جديدين من الاختبارات الخاصة بالكشف عن الفيروس وهما الفحص السريع للأجسام المضادة، وفحص المستضدات المولدة – الأنتيجين. وأوضحت الوزارة أن السماح للقطاع الخاص بإجراء هذه الأنواع من الفحوصات يأتي ضمن خُطة الوزارة لمشاركة القطاع الصحي الخاص في مكافحة جائحة «كوفيد-19»، لافتة إلى أن الوزارة سمحت منذ وقت طويل للقطاع الخاص بإجراء فحص التفاعل المتسلسل للبوليمراز (PCR) ليكون عدد الفحوصات الخاصة ب «كوفيد» 3 فحوصات يمكن إجراؤها بالقطاع الخاص. يُذكر أن الفحص السريع للمستضدات المولدة – الأنتيجين يوفر نتائج سريعة ودقيقة بدرجة معقولة للكشف عن الإصابة بفيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19»، ويتم إجراء هذا الفحص لأغراض مُتعددة، منها تقييم حالة المريض الذي تظهر لديه أعراض مرضية تنفسية وفي المرحلة التحضيرية السابقة لإدخال المريض إلى المستشفى لإجراء العمليات الجراحية البسيطة، ويتطلب الفحص السريع للمستضدات المولدة – الأنتيجين، إجراء مسحة عن طريق الأنف وتظهر نتائج هذا الفحص عادة خلال 15 دقيقة.

كما يتيح فحص الأجسام المضادة في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة المعتمدة تحديد مستوى المناعة ضد فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19» لدى الأشخاص الذين سبق لهم التعرّض للإصابة بعدوى هذا الفيروس ولدى الأشخاص الذين تلقوا اللقاح ضده، ويمكن إجراء هذا الفحص في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة من قِبل الأطباء والكوادر التمريضية والطبية المدربين.

وهناك نوعان من فحص الأجسام المضادة هما الفحص السريع، الذي يتضمّن إدخال قطرة من الدم في جهاز اختبار صغير وتظهر نتائجه عادة خلال 15 دقيقة، والفحص المفصل والذي يتم بموجبه أخذ عينة من الدم من المريض وإرسالها إلى المختبر الرئيسي بمؤسسة حمد الطبية لإجراء تحاليل مصلية لهذه العينة. ويُعد استحداث إجراءات الفحوصات الجديدة والسماح بممارستها من قِبل المنشآت الصحية الخاصة على قدر كبير من الأهمية، حيث إن من شأنه أن يُعزز استراتيجية الفحص للكشف عن فيروس كورونا «كوفيد – 19» ويُمكّن السكان في دولة قطر من الحصول على المزيد من خدمات الرعاية الصحيّة في هذا المضمار.
