Doha: Major Jaber Hamad al-Marri, Evacuation branch officer at the General Administration of Civil Defense, confirmed that the civil defense fleet in Qatar employs the latest technology in the world, adding that the civil defense has 24 centers distributed nationwide, when the report reaches the operations, the centers near the concerned area move.
The response time for reports, fire and rescue incidents in the coverage ranges of civil defence centres is 7 minutes 49 seconds, which is a good global rate.
Speaking to Qatar Radio’s “Police with You” program, Al-Marri said: All civil defense equipment keeps pace with the development, Qatar is one of the developed countries in this field and civil defense equipment is one of the best in the world, in terms of equipment, mechanisms used and logistics for personal equipment.
Tips for reducing summer fires
Major Al-Marri issued a number of awareness guidelines to reduce fires during the summer and high temperatures, and said “we advise not to increase electrical loads in homes on transformers because they are the cause of fires in the summer, and not to leave any electrical equipment running without the need for them, for example, leaving the mobile phone charger connected at night and not unplugging the air conditioner and just turn it off, as well as car fires, where we call for not leaving any flammable objects inside the car during the summer, especially alcoholic items such as steriles and perfumes, and when parking in the sun directly we recommend reducing the pressure inside the car by lowering the windows slightly “not sealing the glass” to avoid any fires.
On the civil defense keeping pace with the comprehensive developments and renaissance in the country, and the public administration’s keenness to continue training and institutional and practical qualification and areas of training carried out by the civil defense, Al-Marri said: “Regarding training we have a branch in the Training and Development Department of the Civil Defense Department, where new recruits are trained or on top of their work throughout the year,
As for the new recruits, they are trained and enter the comprehensive civil defense course, adding that there is training at the general level, which is rehabilitation and revitalization of the individuals on the job.
الدوحة: أكد الرائد جابر حمد المري ضابط فرع الإخلاء بالإدارة العامة للدفاع المدني أن أسطول الدفاع المدني في قطر يوظف أحدث التقنيات في العالم، مضيفا إن لدى الدفاع المدني 24 مركزا موزعة على مستوى الدولة، وعند وصول البلاغ للعمليات تتحرك المراكز القريبة من المنطقة المعنية، حيث إن مدة الاستجابة للبلاغات وحوادث الحرائق والإنقاذ في نطاقات تغطية مراكز الدفاع المدني 7 دقائق و49 ثانية وهذا معدل عالمي جيد.
وبخصوص أن سرعة الاستجابة تحتاج إلى تقنيات وأجهزة حديثة، قال المري خلال حديثه لبرنامج “الشرطة معك” عبر أثير إذاعة قطر: إن كل معدات الدفاع المدني تتواكب مع التطور، وقطر من البلدان المتقدمة في هذا المجال وإن المعدات الموجودة بالدفاع المدني من أفضل المعدات على مستوى الدفاع المدني عالميا، وذلك من حيث المعدات والآليات المستخدمة والخدمات اللوجستية المتعلقة بالأفراد والمعدات الشخصية.
نصائح للحد من حرائق الصيف
ووجه الرائد المري عددا من الإرشادات التوعوية للحد من الحرائق خلال فصل الصيف وارتفاع درجات الحرارة، وقال ننصح بعدم زيادة الأحمال الكهربائية في المنازل على المحولات لأنها سبب الحرائق في الصيف، وعدم ترك أي معدة كهربائية تعمل بدون الحاجة إليها، وعلى سبيل المثال ترك شاحن الهاتف الجوال يعمل ليلا وعدم إغلاق المكيف من قابس الكهرباء والاكتفاء بإيقاف تشغيله، وكذلك حرائق السيارات، حيث ندعو لعدم ترك أي غرض قابل للاشتعال داخل السيارة خلال فصل الصيف وخصوصا المواد الكحولية مثل المعقمات والعطور، وعند وقوف السيارة في الشمس مباشرة ننصح بتخفيف الضغط داخل السيارة من خلال خفض زجاج الأبواب قليلا “تنسيم الزجاج” لتجنب حدوث أي حرائق.
وحول مواكبة الدفاع المدني للتطورات والنهضة الشاملة في البلاد، وحرص الإدارة العامة على استمرار التدريب والتأهيل التأسيسي والعملي ومجالات التدريب التي يقوم بها الدفاع المدني، قال المري: بخصوص التدريب لدينا فرع بقسم التدريب والتطوير بإدارة الدفاع المدني، حيث يتم تدريب المجندين الجدد أو الموجودين على رأس عملهم على مدار السنة، وبالنسبة للمجندين الجدد يتم تدريبهم ويدخلون دورة الدفاع المدني الشاملة، مضيفا إن هناك تدريبا على المستوى العام وهو تأهيل وتنشيط للأفراد الموجودين على رأس عملهم.
