Buying medicines online is a health risk and a legal violation

Doha: A number of doctors and jurists warned against being caught up in misleading advertisements on some websites, which sell medicines and cosmetics, stressing the need not to buy medicines without prescription and by consulting the competent doctor, pointing out that they may result in collateral damage and ominous health risks, besides the fact that the product may be a fraudulent, harmful to health and of unknown source, which is not controlled and is considered illegal, as there are some drugs legally prohibited in the country and ordering them without a prescription may subject the person who does so to legal accountability.

They told Al-Sharq: In light of the Corona pandemic, e-commerce has become an alternative activity for traditional trade, especially in relation to medicines or prescription drugs and cosmetics, pointing out that many websites are conducting promotional campaigns aimed at making a profit to compensate for their loss with the closures affected by the world drug market, until it became the most appropriate alternative, especially with high prices, which made a large segment of consumers go to buy medical drugs through the Internet, and pointed out the importance of consulting a doctor, making a careful diagnosis and knowing the disease, and then prescribe treatment and medication and determine the appropriate dosage for each patient individually, based on the age and weight bracket, warning of drug reactions, which occur as a result of taking more than one drug at the same time.

الدوحة: حذر عدد من الأطباء والقانونيين، من الانسياق وراء الإعلانات المضللة في بعض المواقع الإلكترونية، التي تبيع الأدوية والمستحضرات التجميلية، مؤكدين ضرورة عدم شراء الأدوية بدون وصفة طبية باستشارة الطبيب المختص، لافتين إلى أنه قد تنتج عنها أضرار جانبية ومخاطر صحية لا تحمد عقباها، إلى جانب أن المنتج قد يكون من المنتجات المغشوشة والمضرة للصحة ومجهولة المصدر، والتي لا توجد عليها رقابة وتعتبر مخالفة للقانون، حيث إن هناك بعض الأدوية محظورة قانونيا في البلاد وجلبها بدون وصفة طبية قد يعرض طالبها للمساءلة القانونية.

وقالوا لـ الشرق: انه في ظل جائحة كورونا قد أصبحت التجارة الإلكترونية نشاطاً بديلاً للتجارة التقليدية، خاصة المتعلقة بالأدوية أو العقاقير الطبية وأدوات التجميل، مشيرين إلى أن الكثير من المواقع الإلكترونية تقوم بحملات ترويجية هدفها تحقيق ربح يعوض خسارتها مع الإغلاقات التي تأثر بها سوق الأدوية في العالم، حتى أصبحت البديل الأنسب، خاصة مع غلاء الأسعار، مما جعل شريحة كبيرة من المستهلكين تتجه لشراء العقاقير الطبية من خلال الإنترنت، وأشاروا إلى أهمية استشارة الطبيب، وعمل تشخيص دقيق ومعرفة المرض، ثم وصف العلاج والدواء وتحديد الجرعة المناسبة لكل مريض على حدة، وذلك بناء على الشريحة العمرية والوزن، محذرين من التفاعلات الدوائية، التي تحدث نتيجة تناول أكثر من دواء في نفس الوقت.
