Forbes: Qatari banks among the top 2,000 international companies

Doha: Forbes International magazine issued a list of the world’s top 2,000 public companies for 2021, with several Qatari banks on the list: Qatar National Bank, Qatar Islamic Bank, Al Rayan Bank, Commercial Bank, Qatar Industries and Ooredoo, and the magazine said the classification was based on a range of corporate revenue points, market value, profits and assets.

Forbes’ 18th annual ranking of the world’s top 2,000 public companies shows the scale of global closures, that serves as a warning for more problems expected in the coming months.

Since 2003, Forbes International has released its Forbes Global 2000 list to measure the world’s largest public companies by four equally weighted measures: assets, market value, sales and profits.

Last year’s version of the list provided a glimpse into the early economic effects of the Coronavirus epidemic, and the magazine says not all results are bad, with central banks allowing negative interest rates, and investors have decided that there is no alternative to investing in stocks.

The total global stock market jumped by about 48% last year, which attributed to the rise in total assets and market value of listed companies over the past year.

الدوحة: أصدرت مجلة فوربس العالمية قائمة أكبر 2000 شركة عامة في العالم لعام 2021، حيث جاءت عدة بنوك قطرية ضمن القائمة وهي: بنك قطر الوطني، ومصرف قطر الإسلامي، ومصرف الريان، والبنك التجاري الى جانب شركات صناعات قطر وOoredoo، وقالت المجلة ان التصنيف تم بناء على مجموعة نقاط لإيرادات الشركات، وقيمتها السوقية وأرباحها وأصولها.

ويوضح تصنيف «فوربس» السنوي الثامن عشر لأكبر 2000 شركة عامة في العالم حجم عمليات الإغلاق العالمية، ويعمل بمنزلة تحذير لمزيد من المشاكل المرتقبة في الأشهر المقبلة، ومنذ عام 2003، أصدرت مجلة فوربس العالمية قائمتها «فوربس العالمية 2000، وذلك لقياس أكبر الشركات العامة في العالم من حيث 4 مقاييس متساوية الترجيح، وهي: الأصول والقيمة السوقية والمبيعات والأرباح، وقدمت نسخة العام الماضي من القائمة لمحة عن الآثار الاقتصادية المبكرة لوباء كورونا، وتقول المجلة ان النتائج ليست كلها سيئة، وذلك مع سماح البنوك المركزية بأسعار فائدة سلبية، وقرر المستثمرون أنه لا يوجد بديل للاستثمار في الأسهم.، ليقفز إجمالي سوق الأسهم العالمية بنحو 48% في العام الماضي، وهو ما عزا ارتفاع إجمالي الأصول والقيمة السوقية للشركات المدرجة بالقائمة خلال العام الماضي.
