Surveillance cameras record traffic violations at intersections: MOI

Doha: Director of the Traffic Awareness Department of the General Directorate of Traffic, Colonel Muhammad Radi Al Hajri, has said that surveillance cameras are recording traffic violations at intersections and traffic signals.
“Surveillance cameras record some traffic violations committed by motorists like stopping in yellow box especially at intersections and traffic signals and others violations of traffic rules,” said Al Hajri while speaking in a Qatar Radio programme recently.
He said that the system of surveillance cameras was launched about six months ago but now the motorists are forced to adhere to traffic rules at these places especially at intersections and traffic signals which witness large number of vehicles.
Al Hajri pointed out that some violations of traffic rules at intersections and traffic signals caused traffic jam.
الدوحة: قال العقيد محمد راضي الهاجري مدير إدارة التوعية المرورية بالإدارة العامة للمرور إن كاميرات المراقبة تسجل مخالفات مرورية عند التقاطعات والإشارات المرورية.
وقال الهاجري خلال حديثه في برنامج إذاعة قطر مؤخرا إن “كاميرات المراقبة تسجل بعض المخالفات المرورية التي يرتكبها سائقو السيارات مثل التوقف في صندوق أصفر خاصة عند التقاطعات والإشارات المرورية وغيرها من المخالفات لقواعد المرور”.
وقال إن نظام كاميرات المراقبة تم إطلاقه منذ نحو ستة أشهر، لكن الآن يضطر سائقو السيارات إلى الالتزام بقواعد المرور في هذه الأماكن خاصة عند التقاطعات وإشارات المرور التي تشهد عددا كبيرا من المركبات.
وأشار الهاجري إلى أن بعض مخالفات قواعد المرور عند التقاطعات والإشارات المرورية تسببت في ازدحام مروري.
