Winter Camping Season Ends on May 21, MME Says

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) announced that the winter camping season for the year 2020/2021 will end on May 21, as the extension period previously decided by the Ministry in response to the desire of many campers came to an end.

In a statement, the Ministry stated that the camping season was exceptional and successful by all standards. It witnessed a remarkable decrease in the number of violations and campers were committed to the instructions for protecting the environment and public hygiene as well as to the precautionary measures related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it said.

This camping season included 31 land and sea areas across the country, and the competent authorities at the MME provided all necessary services for campers.

The MME praised the contributions of the authorities concerned in the State to the success of the camping season and their cooperation regarding the procedures and requirements for maintaining security, safety and health, ensuring the safety of the campers and protecting and preserving the environment during the season.

It called on campers to dismantle and remove all the camps before the end of the winter camping season on May 21, adding that it has assigned a specialized team to carry out inspections and follow up the process of removing the camps with the expiration of the deadline.

It is worth noting that the winter camping season for the year 2020/2021 began on 11/10/2020 for a period of six months. Then, it was extended until May 21, in response to the desire of many campers.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة البلدية والبيئة عن اختتام موسم التخييم الشتوي للعام 2020 / 2021 يوم 21 مايو الجاري، وذلك بعد انتهاء فترة التمديد التي قررتها الوزارة سابقا استجابة لرغبة العديد من أصحاب المخيمات.

وأكدت الوزارة ،في بيان، أن موسم التخييم كان استثنائيا وناجحا بكل المقاييس، حيث شهد انخفاضا ملحوظا في عدد المخالفات والتزام المخيمين بالتعليمات الخاصة بحماية البيئة والنظافة العامة، وكذلك بالإجراءات الاحترازية الخاصة بجائحة كورونا (كوفيد-19).

وتضمن التخييم لهذا الموسم 31 منطقة برية وبحرية في مختلف أنحاء الدولة، حيث وفرت الأجهزة المختصة بوزارة البلدية والبيئة جميع الخدمات اللازمة لأصحاب المخيمات.

وأشادت وزارة البلدية والبيئة بمساهمات الجهات المعنية بالدولة في إنجاح موسم التخييم وتعاونهم بشأن الإجراءات والاشتراطات الخاصة بحفظ الأمن والسلامة والصحة ولضمان سلامة المخيمين وحماية وصون البيئة أثناء الموسم.

وأهابت بالمخيمين بضرورة تفكيك وإزالة جميع المخيمات قبل نهاية موسم التخييم الشتوي يوم 21 مايو الجاري، حيث كلفت الوزارة فريقا متخصصا للقيام بعمليات التفتيش ومتابعة عملية تفكيك المخيمات مع انتهاء المهلة المحددة.

الجدير بالذكر أن موسم التخييم الشتوي لعام 2020 / 2021 كان قد بدأ بتاريخ 11 / 10 / 2020 لمدة ستة أشهر، ثم تم تمديد الموسم حتى 21 مايو الجاري، استجابة لرغبة العديد من أصحاب المخيمات.
