MoPH: measures to still be implemented in Ramadan and Eid
“الصحة”: نتوقع استمرار الإجراءات في رمضان والعيد
Dr. Yusuf Al-Muslimani, Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital, said it was very encouraging to see clear evidence that vaccines protect people from severe covid-19 symptoms and illness, warning that returning to normal life may require vaccination of 80 to 90% of Qatar’s population.
According to statements posted on the Ministry of Health’s Twitter account, Dr. Al-Muslimani noted that evidence published last week shows that about 1,800 patients have been admitted to intensive care units, including only 19 who have received vaccination, meaning that only 1% of these patients are vaccinated and 99% of those admitted to intensive care are those who have not been vaccinated or are not fully vaccinated.
“This statistic is very promising and gives reason for optimism, and in order for normal life to return, we must reach 80 to 90% of the population in Qatar and then maybe we can go back to our normal lives.
He added: It is not yet known if we can overcome the cases in this period, and we expect the procedures to continue during Ramadan and the Eid period until the cases are reduced to less than they are now and then some restrictions may be changed.
The Medical Director of Hamad General Hospital pointed to a steady decline in serious daily cases of Covid-19, saying: Two weeks ago we were watching the registration of 900 cases per day but today the cases decreased to less than 700 cases, this decrease is due to the current restrictions and also the rapid implementation of the vaccination program.
Dr. Al-Muslimani thanked the public for their commitment to the instructions that reduced Coronavirus infections.
“This has also reduced the number of infected people admitted to hospital and the number of cases in intensive care.”
قال الدكتور يوسف المسلماني، المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد العام، إنه لأمر مشجع للغاية أن نرى دليلاً واضحاً على أن اللقاحات تحمي الناس من ظهور أعراض “كوفيد-19” الشديدة والإصابة بالمرض، منبهاً إلى أن العودة إلى الحياة الطبيعية ربما تتطلب تطعيم نسبة 80 إلى 90% من السكان في قطر.
وأشار الدكتور المسلماني، وفق تصريحات نشرها حساب وزارة الصحة في تويتر، إلى أن البينات التي نشرت الأسبوع الماضي تبين أنه تم إدخال حوالي 1800 مريض إلى وحدات العناية المركزة، بينهم فقط 19 شخصاً ممن تلقوا التطعيم، وهذا يعني أن 1% فقط من هؤلاء المرضى مُطعمين بينما 99% ممن إدخلوا العناية المركزة هم ممن لم يتلقوا التطعيم أو غير المطعمين بالكامل.
وأضاف: هذه الإحصائية واعدة للغاية وتعطي سبباً للتفاؤل، وحتى تعود الحياة الطبيعية يجب أن نصل نسبة 80 إلى 90% من السكان في قطر ثم بعدها ربما نستطيع أن نعود إلى حياتنا الطبيعية.
وأضاف: إلى الآن غير معروف إذا ما كنا استطعنا التغلب على حالات الإصابة في هذه الفترة، ونتوقع أن تستمر الإجراءات في رمضان وفترة العيد حتى يتم تخفيض الحالات إلى أقل مما هي عليه الآن وبعدها ربما يتم تغيير بعض القيود.
وأشار المدير الطبي لمستشفى حمد العام إلى انخفاض حالات الإصابة اليومية الجدية بكوفيد -19 بشكل مطرد، وقال: قبل أسبوعين كنا نشاهد تسجيل 900 حالة يوميا أما اليوم فانخفضت الحالت إلى أقل من 700 حالة، وهذا الانخفاض بسبب القيود المعمول بها حالياً وأيضا التنفيذ السريع لبرنامج التطعيم.
ووجه الدكتور المسلماني الشكر للجمهور لالتزامه بالتعليمات والتي أدت إلى تخفيض الإصابات بفيروس كورونا.
وتابع: أدى ذلك أيضا إلى انخفاض حالات الأشخاص المصابين الذين يدخلون إلى المستشفى وعدد الحالات التي تدخل العناية المركزة”.
