What is the reason for not granting any exceptions for full vaccine recipients?

Doha: Many of those who received the Corona vaccine doses in Qatar question the extent of the exceptions they are supposed to receive after receiving the vaccine, as the plan to re-impose restrictions due to the Corona pandemic imposed by the Council of Ministers a few days ago treated those who received the vaccine and those who have not received it so far alike except in some secondary matters.

Recent cabinet decisions have allowed those who have completed covid-19 vaccine doses to have a maximum of 5 people in open spaces, and the Council has decided to exclude boat rental services, tourist yachts and picnic boats for family members living in the same house who have completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, in addition to excluding those vaccinated from quarantine upon return from travel.

Vaccine efficacy allows for exception

The importance of taking the vaccine, as confirmed by Dr. Muna Al-Maslamani, Medical Director of the Center for Transitional Diseases, on February 22, 2021, focuses on three points:

** The important role of the vaccine in the prevention of covid 19.

** The role of the vaccine in preventing complications of the disease itself.

** The vaccine prevents the transmission of the virus from one person to another.

Therefore, these great advantages that the vaccine gives to those who have received it give them some freedom to move, shop and live normally taking into account the necessary precautionary measures.

So far, it has been clear from recent decisions that there is a real equality between those who received the vaccine and those who did not, in prohibiting access to restaurants, cafes, cinemas, museums, public libraries, beauty salons, barber shops, and all recreational centres.

Not to mention the equality in the performance of taraweeh prayers during the holy month of Ramadan at home, and the suspension of the provision of medical services in private health facilities except for emergencies, for those who took the vaccine and those who did not.

It is remarkable that by granting vaccination recipients exceptions that are not given to others, it will greatly encourage members of the community who have not yet received the vaccine to rush vaccination to live a normal life and give them advantages that allow them to engage in activities that were not available without vaccination.

The numbers confirm the need for exceptions

Dr. AbdulLatif Al Khal, chair of the National Strategic Group on Covid-19 virus, said in a television interview with Qatar TV on April 07th that the exclusion of people vaccinated against Coronavirus from some of the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic will come gradually in the coming period.

“This could be possible in the future if a larger proportion of the population is covered by vaccination,” al-Khal said as to why those vaccinated were not excluded from the decision to close barber and beauty salons and allow them to eat in restaurants.

Regardless of the logic of al-Khal’s words, official figures as of the date of writing this report indicate that one in three members of the community in Qatar received at least one dose of the vaccine, 35.5% of the population received at least one dose, and 82.8% of older people who are more likely to have virus complications received the vaccine.

Will we see in the next few days actual exceptions for those who have completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine?

الدوحة: يتساءل الكثير ممن تلقوا جرعتي لقاح كورونا في قطر عن مدى الاستثناءات التي من المفترض أن يحصلوا عليها بعد تلقي اللقاح، حيث ساوت خطة إعادة فرض القيود جراء جائحة كورونا التي فرضها مجلس الوزراء قبل أيام بين من تلقى اللقاح ومن لم يتلقاه حتى الآن إلا في بعض الأمور الثانوية.

قرارات مجلس الوزراء الأخيرة سمحت لمن استكملوا جرعات لقاح كوفيد-19، بتواجد (5) أشخاص بحد أقصى في الأماكن المفتوحة، كما قرر المجلس باستثناء خدمات تأجير القوارب واليخوت السياحية وقوارب النزهة لأفراد الأسرة المقيمة في نفس المنزل ممن استكملوا جرعات لقاح (كوفيد-19)، إضافة لاستثناء من تلقى التطعيم من الحجر الصحي عند العودة من السفر.

فعالية اللقاح تسمح بالاستثناء

أهمية أخذ اللقاح بحسب ما أكدته الدكتورة منى المسلماني المدير الطبي لمركز الأمراض الانتقالية بتاريخ 22 فبراير 2021 تتمحور في ثلاث نقاط هي:

** دور اللقاح الهام في الوقاية من الإصابة بكوفيد 19.

** دور اللقاح في الوقاية من الإصابة بمضاعفات المرض نفسه.

** اللقاح يمنع انتقال الفيروس من شخص إلى آخر.

وعليه فإن هذه المميزات الكبيرة التي يمنحها اللقاح لمن تلقاه تعطيه بعض الحرية في التنقل والتسوق وممارسة حياته بشكل طبيعي نوعاً ما مع الأخذ بالإجراءات الاحترازية الضرورية.

الواضح حتى الآن ومن خلال القرارات الأخيرة أن هناك مساواة فعلية بين من تلقى اللقاح ومن لم يتلقاه، في المنع من الدخول للمطاعم والمقاهي ودور السينما والمتاحف والمكتبات العامة وصالونات التجميل والحلاقة، وجميع المراكز الترفيهية.

ناهيك عن المساواة في أداء صلاة التراويح خلال شهر رمضان المبارك في المنازل، وإيقاف تقديم الخدمات الطبية في المنشآت الصحية الخاصة باستثناء الحالات الطارئة، لمن أخذ اللقاح ومن لم يأخذه.

اللافت في الأمر أن من خلال منح من تلقى التطعيم استثناءات لا تعطى لغيره، سيشجع بشكل كبير أفراد المجتمع الذين لم يتلقوا اللقاح حتى الآن للمسارعة في التطعيم ليعيشوا حياة طبيعة ومنحهم مميزات تسمح لهم بممارسة نشاطات لم تكن متوفرة بدون تطعيم.

*الأرقام تؤكد ضرورة الاستثناءات *

الدكتور عبد اللطيف الخال، رئيس المجموعة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتصدي لفيروس كوفيد-19 قال في لقاح تلفزيون مع تلفزيون قطر بتاريخ 07 أبريل الحالي إن استثناء الأشخاص الذين تلقوا التطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا من بعض القيود المفروضة بسبب الجائحة سيتم بشكل تدريجي خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وقال الخال بشأن السبب في عدم استثناء من تلقوا التطعيم من قرار إغلاق صالونات الحلاقة والتجميل والسماح لهم بتناول الطعام داخل المطاعم، أن هذا الأمر قد يكون وارد في المستقبل إذا تم تغطية نسبة أكبر من السكان بالتطعيم.

بغض النظر عن منطقية كلام الخال، إلا أن الأرقام الرسمية حتى تاريخ كتابة هذا التقرير تشير إلى أن شخص واحد من بين كل 3 أشخاص من أفراد المجتمع في قطر حصل على جرعة واحدة على الأقل من اللقاح، و35.5% من السكان حصلوا على الأقل على جرعة واحدة، و82.8% من كبار السن الذين هم أكثر عرضة لمضاعفات الفيروس حصلوا على اللقاح..
