Ramadan an Occasion for Unity to Address Challenges

Doha: The newspapers published Tuesday said that the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan represents, for the Islamic and Arab countries, an occasion that brings with it goodness and blessings every year.

The newspapers stressed that this blessed occasion calls for the unity of the Arab and Islamic ranks to address various challenges for the sake of security and safety of our societies.

In its editorial, Al-Sharq said that the Islamic world welcomes Ramadan, the blessed month the brings Muslims around the world together to consolidate the values of solidarity, social solidarity, synergy, security and peace. It also calls for the need to perform in it good deeds, charity and compassion. In light of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, it calls for the commitment to precautionary measures set by the Ministries of Health, Endowments and Islamic Affairs by performing Tarawih prayers at home while performing daily prayers and Friday prayers at mosques.

The paper indicated that Muslims welcome the blessed month as they hope that it will be a month of peace, prosperity and solidarity, adding Ramadan is an opportunity that comes only once a year and that must be seized to do good deeds and give charity for the needy. It is an occasion for everyone who is able to extend a helping hand to their family, the poor, and the deprived in society.

Al-Sharq added that in the holy month Muslims should understand its purposes by worshiping Allah and renewing repentance, and by promoting peace, tolerance and coexistence so that security prevails.

The newspaper concluded by saying that fasting is not starvation, but sensing the suffering of those who live in hunger and deprivation, and to remember being kind to them, in addition to realizing the value of blessings in this blessed month.

Al-Raya newspaper highlighted that the blessed month of Ramadan comes this year amid exceptional circumstances that Qatar and the whole world are experiencing due to the repercussions of the Coronavirus pandemic, hoping for an end to this epidemic in the country and the whole world.

It added that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has been keen on congratulating the Qatari people and the Islamic nations on the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, pointing to a tweet by HH the Amir in which His Highness said: “Congratulations to Qatar and the Islamic nations on the Holy Month of Ramadan. May Allah accept fasting, prayers and good deeds from us and from you.” HH the Amir also exchanged cables of congratulations with Their Majesties, Excellencies and Highnesses leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan. Qatar regards this holy month as a great occasion for friendship and compassion in the Islamic world and the whole world.

Al-Raya stressed that the State of Qatar, which observes today the first day of this holy month, has tightened its precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of all those who live on its territory in parallel with the success of the largest national vaccination campaign against Coronavirus after Qatar crossed the million dose barrier, and it is moving ahead to vaccinate as soon as possible all those who meet the conditions so that life returns to normal.

The newspaper called for adherence to the precautionary measures in Ramadan in order to limit the spread of the virus, which has become a direct danger to people’s health, saying that adherence to them is the gateway to end the noticeable rise in the number of cases, especially, as officials in the Ministry of Public Health said, the country has entered the second wave but haven’t reached the peak yet.

The daily indicated that the preventive measures taken by the concerned authorities during this Ramadan are less compared to last year as mosques remained open to perform prayers in them while respecting the precautionary conditions that limit the spread of the virus, and the decision to perform Tarawih prayers at home is a correct decision due to great turnout by worshipers to perform them.

It concluded by saying that Qatar, since the beginning of this year, has been facing the problem of the spread of the mutated virus, which is more dangerous than the previous one due to its rapid spread, and the State must take decisive measures to curb increase in the number of infections and deaths, such as imposing more restrictions so that things remain under control.

In its editorial on Tuesday, Al-Watan newspaper wished a good and blessed Ramadan for all Muslims, especially in these difficult times through which the Arab nation is going and in which it faces many political, economic and social challenges.

The atmosphere in Palestine during the holy month looks different this year, amid the restrictions imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic, the growing economic problems and the restrictions that affected the general atmosphere with the closure of schools, wedding halls and restaurants causing tens of thousands to be unemployed, the newspaper said.

Lebanon suffers from deteriorating economic and living conditions amid continuation of the Coronavirus pandemic; this may make Ramadan this year the most difficult of years in Lebanon. Lebanon has been suffering for more than a year from an economic crisis, the worst since the end of the civil war in 1990. This led to a record decline of the value of the national currency against the dollar, the collapse of the purchasing power for most citizens and the increase of poverty rates, Al-Watan noted.

Syria is still facing its worst days ever, with the collapse of its currency and the extreme poverty that its people live in, in addition to being dispersed as refugees and displaced persons inside and outside Syria, without any signs for a solution that takes into account the rights of Syrians and their right to live in freedom and dignity, the newspaper added.

Al-Watan concluded by saying that Yemen is the worst off with the continuation of the war and uncertainty regarding reaching a political solution acceptable to all parties, expressing its hope that this month of goodness will be a gateway to hope that leads to reaching a wider horizon for all. 

For its part, the Peninsula newspaper indicated that as Muslims worldwide begin the Holy Month of Ramadan on Tuesday, it is another opportunity for everyone to remember the spiritual and moral values the Holy Month entails, despite the exceptional circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic this year.

The newspaper stated that for the second straight year, the COVID-19 pandemic has made many of the more social aspects of Ramadan a lot harder to do safely. With necessary restrictions implemented on travel and the need to maintain social distancing, avoid large and indoor gatherings, adherence to these measures has never been more apparent.

The newspaper confirmed that government institutions and agencies are continuing their efforts to combat the Coronavirus during the holy month, therefore the Ministry of Public Health disclosed that the vaccination campaign during Ramadan would be from 9am to 1am every day of the week, including Friday and Saturday, as the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) recently announced it would increase its safety and cleanliness drive across the country.

In conclusion, the newspaper stressed that Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year for Muslims. Ramadan, is meant to be a time of spiritual discipline, of deep contemplation of one’s relationship with Allah, extra prayer, increased charity and generosity, and intense study of the Quran.

ورأت / الشرق / في افتتاحيتها أن العالم الإسلامي يستقبل شهر رمضان وهو شهر الأمة، حيث يجمع الشهر الفضيل المسلمين في أنحاء العالم على قيم التكافل والتضامن الاجتماعي والتآزر والأمن والسلام .. ودعت لضرورة استثماره في الطاعات وعمل الخير والتراحم، وفي ظل جائحة فيروس كورونا المستجد كوفيد – 19، فالالتزام بالضوابط الاحترازية التي حددتها وزارتا الصحة والأوقاف والشؤون الإسلامية ضرورة، بأداء صلاة التراويح في المنازل مع استمرار فتح المساجد لأداء الفروض اليومية وصلاة الجمعة.

وأشارت إلى أن المسلمين يستقبلون الشهر الفضيل ويحدوهم الأمل بأن يكون شهر سلام ورخاء وتكافل، فهو فرصة لا تتاح إلا مرة واحدة في العام، فعلينا اغتنامها بفعل الخير، وبذل المعروف للمحتاجين، بالإحسان والصدقات، وعلى كل مستطيع مد يد العون لأهله وللفقراء والمحرومين ولمجتمعه، لأن إحساس المرء بأخيه وتلمس حاجاته واجب إنساني، وفي هذا الشهر الفضيل نتقرب إلى الله بالطاعات، ونستزيد فيه من الخيرات.

وذكرت انه في شهر القرآن نستحضر ونتدبر مقاصده والالتزام بالعبادات والقربات وتجديد التوبة مع الخالق، وعلى مستوى الفرد التحلي بالصبر والتحمل وأيضاً في المجتمعات بتعزيز السلم والتسامح والتعايش ليسود الأمان، فشهر رمضان أوله رحمة وأوسطه مغفرة وآخره عتق من النار.

وخلصت الى القول ان ” الصوم ليس التجويع، بل استشعار معاناة من يعيشون الجوع والحرمان، ونستذكر الإحسان إليهم، فضلاً عن إدراك قيمة النعم في هذا الشهر الفضيل، ونسأل الله أن يتقبل من الجميع صيامهم وقيامهم، وأن تنعم الأمة الإسلامية بالخير والأمان، وتواصل التراحم والتوادد والتآخي في ظل ما يشهده العالم من تحديات وأزمات تستوجب التكاتف والتعاون في التصدي لها ومن أجل أمن وسلامة مجتمعاتنا .”

بدورها ذكرت صحيفة / الراية / يحل علينا شهر رمضان المبارك هذا العام وسط ظروف استثنائية تعيشها قطر والعالم أجمع بسبب تداعيات أزمة وباء كورونا، وسط دعوات إلى الله أن يرفع عنا وعن العالم أجمع هذا الوباء .

وقالت ” حرص حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى على تهنئة الشعب القطري والأمة الإسلامية بحلول شهر رمضان المبارك، وقال سموه، في تغريدة عبر حساب سموه الرسمي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي تويتر: مبارك على قطر والأمة الإسلامية الشهر الفضيل، تقبل الله منا ومنكم الصيام والقيام وصالح الأعمال، كما تبادل حضرة صاحب السمو أمير البلاد المفدى، برقيات التهاني مع إخوانه أصحاب الجلالة والفخامة والسمو قادة الدول العربية والإسلامية الشقيقة، بمناسبة حلول شهر رمضان المبارك، فقطر ترى أن هذا الشهر الفضيل مناسبة عظيمة من أجل التواد والتراحم في العالم الإسلامي والعالم أجمع.”

وأكدت الصحيفة على ان دولة قطر التي تستقبل اليوم أول أيام هذا الشهر الفضيل، شددت من إجراءاتها الاحترازية حرصًا على صحة وسلامة كل من يقيم على أرضها بالتوازي مع نجاح أكبر حملة وطنية للتلقيح ضد كورونا بعد أن تخطت قطر حاجز المليون جرعة، وها هي تحث الخطى نحو تطعيم جميع من تنطبق عليهم الشروط في أقرب وقت حتى تعود الحياة إلى طبيعتها .

وطالبت الصحيفة الجميع بالالتزام بالإجراءات الاحترازية في رمضان وذلك للحد من انتشار الفيروس الذي أصبح يشكل خطورة مباشرة على صحة الناس، فالالتزام هو بوابة الخروج من موجة الارتفاع الملحوظ في عدد حالات الإصابة إلى بر الأمان، خاصة وأننا كما أكد المسؤولون في وزارة الصحة العامة دخلنا في الموجة الثانية لكننا لم نبلغ الذروة بعد.

وبينت ان الإجراءات الوقائية التي اتخذتها الجهات المعنية خلال شهر رمضان الحالي مخففة مقارنة بالعام الماضي من حيث استمرار فتح المساجد وأداء الصلاة فيها وفق الالتزام بالشروط الاحترازية التي تحد من انتشار الفيروس، وقرار أداء صلاة التراويح في المنازل هو من القرارات الصحيحة لما تشهده من زحام كبير من المصلين .

وخلصت الى القول ” ان قطر ومنذ بداية العام الحالي تواجه مشكلة انتشار الفيروس المتحور الذي يشكل خطورة أكبر من السابق لسرعة انتشاره، وكان لابد أن تواجه الدولة بإجراءات حاسمة ارتفاع عدد الإصابات والوفيات مثل فرض المزيد من القيود حتى تبقى الأمور تحت السيطرة ، وها هو رمضان الخير يطل علينا وكلنا أمل أن نتجاوز هذه المحنة، ونحن نسأل الله أن يحفظ قطر وأهلها من الوباء إنه قريب مجيب الدعاء.”

من جهتها قالت صحيفة /الوطن / ” هلّ علينا شهر رمضان المبارك وكلنا أمل أن يكون شهر خير وبركة للمسلمين جميعا، خاصة في هذه الأوقات العصيبة التي تمر بها الأمة العربية، والتي تواجه فيها الكثير من التحديات السياسية والاقتصادية والاجتماعية.”

وأشارت إلى الأجواء في فلسطين خلال الشهر الفضيل تبدو مختلفة هذا العام وسط القيود التي فرضتها جائحة فيروس كورونا والمشاكل الاقتصادية المتنامية، والقيود التي أثرت على الجو العام مع إغلاق المدارس وقاعات الأفراح والمطاعم، الأمر الذي تسبب في انضمام عشرات الآلاف إلى صفوف العاطلين عن العمل.

وأوضحت أن لبنان يعاني من تردي الظروف الاقتصادية والمعيشية واستمرار جائحة كورونا، ما قد يجعل شهر هذا العام، الأصعب على مرّ السنوات في لبنان.. مبينة ان لبنان يعاني منذ أكثر من عام أزمة اقتصادية هي الأسوأ منذ انتهاء الحرب الأهلية عام 1990، أدت إلى تراجع قياسي في قيمة العملة الوطنية مقابل الدولار، وانهيار القدرة الشرائية لمعظم المواطنين، وزيادة معدلات الفقر.

ورأت أن سوريا مازالت تواجه أسوأ أيامها على الإطلاق، مع انهيار عملتها والفقر المدقع الذي يعيشه أبناء شعبها، بالإضافة إلى تشتتهم ما بين لاجئ ونازح داخل سوريا وخارجها، دون أن تلوح في الأفق أي بوادر لحل يراعي حقوق السوريين وحقهم في العيش بحرية وكرامة.

وخلصت الى القول ان اليمن يبدو الأسوأ حالا مع استمرار حرب أكلت الأخضر واليابس، مع استمرار حالة عدم اليقين بشأن التوصل إلى حل سياسي مقبول من جميع الأطراف … معربة عن املها أن يكون شهر الخير هذا بوابة أمل تفضي إلى ولوج آفاق أرحب وأوسع للجميع.

من ناحيتها أشارت صحيفة /البيننسولا/ ، إلى أن شهر رمضان المبارك هو فرصة لتذكر القيم الروحية والأخلاقية للشهر الفضيل بالرغم من الأوضاع الاستثنائية التي فرضتها جائحة كورونا (كوفيدـ19) هذا العام.

وأوضحت أن الجائحة أثرت على العديد من الجوانب الاجتماعية من شهر رمضان للعام الثاني على التوالي، حيث دعت السلطات إلى الحفاظ على التباعد الاجتماعي وتجنب التجمعات الكبيرة والداخلية، بالإضافة إلى فرض قيود على السفر.

وأكدت أن المؤسسات والجهات الحكومية مستمرة في جهودها لمكافحة فيروس كورونا خلال الشهر الفضيل، حيث كشفت وزارة الصحة العامة أن حملة التطعيم ضد الفيروس ستستمر خلال شهر رمضان من الساعة 9 صباحاً إلى الساعة 1 صباحاً، بما في ذلك يومي الجمعة والسبت، كما أعلنت وزارة البلدية والبيئة أنها ستزيد من حملات السلامة والنظافة في جميع أنحاء البلاد خلال هذا الشهر.

وفي الختام، شددت الصحيفة على أن شهر رمضان هو وقت الانضباط الروحي والتأمل في علاقة المرء بربه والصدقة والكرم والعبادات من صلاة ودراسة مكثفة للقرآن.
