7th Edition of DIMDEX to be Held in March 2022

Doha: Under the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Organizing Committee of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) announced its readiness to hold the 7th edition of the exhibition (DIMDEX 2022), hosted and organized by the Qatar Armed Forces from March 21 to 23, 2022 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

DIMDEX 2022 will be held under the slogan / Connecting the Worlds Maritime Defense and Security Community/ in keeping with its status as one of the premier events in the global maritime defense and security calendar.

The organizing committee of the Doha International Maritime Defense Exhibition and Conference affirmed, in a statement on Monday, that the DIMDEX 2022 exhibition is looking forward to the participation of an unprecedented number of senior government officials, executives, key decision-makers and exhibitors under one roof, as it is one of the specialized exhibitions in the field of security and defense that will be held non virtually.

The statement indicated that the next edition will shed light on the resilience with which the global defense industry faced the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which not only challenged the pandemic, but also contributed to enhancing its development.

On his expectations for the upcoming edition, Chairman of DIMDEX , Staff Brigadier (Sea) Abdulbaqi Saleh Al Ansari, said: “With a year left until the next edition, we continue to strive to present another outstanding edition of DIMDEX. We draw confidence from the manner in which the global defense and security sector responded to the pandemic by introducing new technologies to swiftly address emerging needs. We are extremely thrilled with the overwhelming support we are getting from our exhibitors, sponsors and partners, as they confirm their participation in the next edition.”

He added: “We remain acutely aware of the challenges that the world is facing and the new norms that have been imposed because of the Covid-19 pandemic, and therefore will remain vigilant and practice the highest level of health and safety precautions for DIMDEX 2022.”

A record number of local and international companies will showcase their latest products, capabilities, and cutting-edge technologies at the event in the presence of key decision makers and prominent officials, to facilitate business deals between many parties, whether governments or companies.

Among the other highlights of the event are the Middle East Naval Commanders Conference (MENC), in which thought leaders from around the globe will discuss the latest trends related to maritime defense and security, and the popular visiting warships display at Hamad Port.

DIMDEX has an enviable track record of commercial successes related to agreements and MoUs and hence has a well-earned reputation in providing an unmatched interface between industry and end-users. The biennial maritime defense and security industry event provides a highly visible international arena for specialized companies to draw the interest of a global audience by showcasing their latest technologies and security and defense innovations.

DIMDEX 2022 is expected to play a key role not only in fostering the symbiotic relationship between the global defense industry and governments but also in facilitating knowledge exchange to complement the national defense system and Qatars growing defense industry.

The diversification of the show, in tune with the growing trend of interoperability across security and defense ecosystems, has enhanced the events appeal and made it a vital platform for both the military and commercial sectors.

The much-anticipated 2022 edition of DIMDEX is shaping up to be the biggest ever with the exhibition landscaped over 35,000 sqm.

Eager to take advantage of the opportunities that the show will provide for commerce and knowledge-sharing, China, France, India, Italy, Turkey and USA have confirmed the presence of their national pavilions.

Underscoring the growing international reputation of the event, companies from these nations as well as others have expressed significant interest in joining the list of exhibitors.

It is to be mentioned that since its launch in 2008, DIMDEX has seen exponential growth and is now regarded as a not-to-miss event on the international defense and security industry calendar, one that drives commercial partnerships and acts as a bridge between industry and government. With agreements worth over USD 32 billion signed across the previous editions, and more expected in the upcoming edition, DIMDEX is set to enhance its standing as one of the leading maritime defense and security events in the world.

الدوحة: تحت الرعاية الكريمة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، أعلنت اللجنة المنظمة لمعرض ومؤتمر الدوحة الدولي للدفاع البحري /ديمدكس/ استعدادها لعقد النسخة السابعة من المعرض /ديمدكس 2022/، باستضافة وتنظيم القوات المسلحة القطرية في الفترة من 21 إلى 23 مارس 2022 في مركز قطر الوطني للمؤتمرات.

وسيقام /ديمدكس 2022/ تحت شعار /الحدث الدولي الأبرز لتواصل مختصي الأمن والدفاع البحري/، وذلك تماشياً مع مكانته كواحد من الأحداث الرئيسية على أجندة الدفاع والأمن البحري العالمية.

وأكدت اللجنة المنظمة لمعرض ومؤتمر الدوحة الدولي للدفاع البحري، في بيان، على تطلع معرض/ديمدكس 2022/ لمشاركة عدد غير مسبوق من كبار المسؤولين الحكوميين والرؤساء التنفيذيين وصناع القرار الرئيسيين والعارضين تحت سقف واحد، باعتباره أحد المعارض المختصة في مجال الأمن والدفاع التي ستقام بشكل غير افتراضي.

وأشار البيان، إلى أن النسخة القادمة، ستلقي الضوء على المرونة التي واجهت بها صناعة الدفاع العالمية جائحة كورونا /كوفيدـ19/، والتي لم تقتصر على تحدي الجائحة فقط، بل ساهمت في تعزيز تطورها.

وحول توقعاته للنسخة القادمة، قال العميد الركن /بحري/ عبدالباقي صالح الأنصاري، رئيس اللجنة المنظمة لـ/ديمدكس/ “مع تبقي حوالي العام على انطلاق النسخة القادمة، نواصل سعينا لتقديم نسخة أخرى متميزة من ديمدكس، مستمدين الثقة من الطريقة التي استجاب بها قطاع الدفاع والأمن العالمي للجائحة وقدرته على تقديم تقنيات جديدة تلبي الاحتياجات الناشئة، ونحن سعداء للغاية بالدعم الهائل الذي نحصل عليه من العارضين والجهات الراعية والشركاء الذين أكدوا مشاركتهم في النسخة القادمة”.

وأضاف “ندرك تماما التحديات التي يواجهها العالم والمعايير الجديدة التي تم فرضها بسبب جائحة /كوفيدـ19/، وبالتالي فنحن على استعداد كامل لتطبيق أعلى مستوى من احتياطات الصحة والسلامة خلال ديمدكس 2022”.

ومن المتوقع أن يشارك في الحدث عدد قياسي من الشركات المحلية والدولية، التي ستعرض أحدث منتجاتها وقدراتها وتقنياتها المتطورة بحضور صناع القرار الرئيسيين وكبار المسؤولين البارزين، لتسهيل الصفقات التجارية بين العديد من الأطراف سواء كانت حكومات أم شركات.

وسيتضمن المعرض فعاليات بارزة أخرى أهمها مؤتمر قادة البحريات في الشرق الأوسط /MENC/، الذي سيجمع متحدثين مرموقين من القادة من مختلف أنحاء العالم لمناقشة أحدث الاتجاهات المتعلقة بالدفاع والأمن البحري، بالإضافة إلى عرض السفن الحربية الزائرة المشاركة في ميناء حمد.

ويتمتع /ديمدكس/ بسجل حافل من النجاحات التجارية المتعلقة بالاتفاقيات ومذكرات التفاهم، وهو ما يعكس السمعة الطيبة التي يحظى بها في توفير وجهة لا مثيل لها لالتقاء المصنعين والمستخدمين النهائيين، ويوفر الحدث المختص في مجال الأمن والدفاع البحري والذي يقام كل سنتين منصة دولية بارزة للغاية للشركات المتخصصة لجذب اهتمام المختصين العالميين من خلال عرض أحدث التقنيات والابتكارات الأمنية والدفاعية.

ومن المتوقع أن يقوم /ديمدكس 2022/ بدور رئيسي ليس في تعزيز العلاقة التكافلية بين صناعة الدفاع العالمية والحكومات فحسب، ولكن أيضا في تسهيل تبادل المعرفة لدعم نظام الدفاع الوطني وقطاع صناعة الدفاع المتنامي في دولة قطر.

وعلى الرغم من أن ديمدكس يعد معرضا للدفاع البحري في المقام الأول، إلا أن مشاركة مختلف فروع القوات المسلحة القطرية في هذا الحدث، ليس فقط لعرض قدراتهم، ولكن أيضا للتفاعل وتبادل وجهات النظر حول التقنيات الجديدة والناشئة، تلبي حرص دولة قطر على تطوير قطاع صناعة الدفاع والأمن بجميع أشكاله محليا.

ويأتي هذا التنوع في المعرض بما يتماشى مع الاتجاه المتزايد لمجال التوافق العملياتي عبر الأنظمة الأمنية والدفاعية، ما يجعل منه منصة حيوية للقطاعين العسكري والتجاري على حد سواء.

ومن المرتقب أن تكون النسخة القادمة من ديمدكس الأكبر على الإطلاق حيث ستفوق المساحة الإجمالية للمعرض ال35,000 متر مربع.

وحرصا على الاستفادة من الفرص التي سيوفرها المعرض للتجارة وتبادل المعرفة، أكدت الصين، وفرنسا، والهند، وإيطاليا، وتركيا والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية مشاركتها من خلال الأجنحة الدولية.

وللتأكيد على السمعة الدولية المتزايدة للحدث، أعربت كبرى الشركات من هذه الدول وغيرها عن اهتمامها الكبير بالانضمام إلى قائمة العارضين.

يذكر أنه ومنذ إطلاقه في عام 2008، شهد ديمدكس نموا هائلا جعله حدثا أساسيا يستوجب زيارته، فقد بات الجسر الذي يربط بين أقطاب صناعة الأمن والدفاع من جهة وبين حكومات الدول من جهة ثانية، ودليل ذلك، حجم الاتفاقيات التي تم توقيعها خلال النسخ السابقة والتي تزيد قيمتها عن 32 مليار دولار أمريكي، في حين أن التوقعات تشير إلى أرقام قياسية جديدة في النسخة القادمة، وهو ما سيعزز من مكانة ديمدكس كواحد من الأحداث الرائدة في مجال الدفاع والأمن البحري في العالم.
