When will vaccine recipients be excluded from covid-19 restrictions? Dr. Al-Khal answers

Doha: Dr. AbdulLatif Al Khal, chair of the National Strategic Group on Covid-19 Virus and Head of infectious diseases at Hamad Medical Corporation, confirmed that the exclusion of people vaccinated against Coronavirus from some of the restrictions imposed due to the pandemic will come gradually in the coming period.

Asked at the press conference why those vaccinated were not excluded from the decision to close barber and beauty salons and allow them to eat in restaurants, Dr. Al Khal said, “This may be possible in the future if a larger proportion of the population is covered by vaccination.”

“Currently, 26% of people have taken a single dose of the vaccine, and when we reach a larger percentage of vaccinated people, the vaccinated people will gradually be excluded,” dr. Al-Khal said.

“Over the coming weeks or months, if the proportion of people vaccinated increases, other exceptions will be gradually added to them,” he said.

“At the moment, there are some exceptions for people who are vaccinated, where they are excluded from quarantine when returning from travel or when they are in contact with an infected person, and the cabinet’s decision to ban gatherings and social visits in closed places in homes and majalis, but allowed a maximum of 5 people to be present in open spaces, from those who have completed doses of the Covid-19 vaccine,” he said.

“The Cabinet’s decision also stated the continued suspension of boat rental services, tourist yachts and picnic boats, excluding the presence of (5) persons maximum of non-family members who had completed the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.”

“The cabinet’s decision on restaurants, beauty salons and physical training gyms applies not only to people who use these services, but also to a range of service providers such as restaurant workers, club trainers or barbershop workers who may not have received the vaccine, and therefore may expose themselves or some of these places goers to the virus,” said Saleh Majid al-Khelaifi, Assistant Undersecretary for Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

“These services may also be at closed places, which will increase the risk of exposure to the virus, especially when a group of families of different bubbles are in the same place.”

الدوحة: أكد الدكتور عبد اللطيف الخال، رئيس المجموعة الاستراتيجية الوطنية للتصدي لفيروس كوفيد-19 ورئيس قسم الأمراض المعدية بمؤسسة حمد الطبية، أن استثناء الأشخاص الذين تلقوا التطعيم ضد فيروس كورونا من بعض القيود المفروضة بسبب الجائحة سيتم بشكل تدريجي خلال الفترة المقبلة.

وفي رده على سؤال خلال المؤتمر الصحفي يوم الأمس، بشأن السبب في عدم استثناء من تلقوا التطعيم من قرار إغلاق صالونات الحلاقة والتجميل والسماح لهم بتناول الطعام داخل المطاعم، قال د. الخال: “هذا قد يكون أمر وارد في المستقبل إذا تم تغطية نسبة أكبر من السكان بالتطعيم”.

وأوضح د. الخال: حاليا 26 % من الأشخاص أخذوا جرعة واحدة من اللقاح، وعندما نصل إلى نسبة أكبر من المطعمين، فسيتم بشكل تدريجي استثناء الأشخاص المطعمين”.

وأضاف د. الخال إلى أنه “على مدى الأسابيع أو الأشهر المقبلة، إذا زادت نسبة الأشخاص المطعمين فسوف تضاف لهم استثناءات أخرى بشكل تدريجي”.

ولفت إلى أنه “في الوقت الحالي هناك بعض الاستثنئات للأشخاص المطعمين، حيث يتم استثناءهم من الحجر الصحي عند العودة من السفر أو عندما يخالطون شخصاً مصاباً، ونص قرار مجلس الوزراء على منع التجمعات والزيارات الاجتماعية بالأماكن المغلقة في المنازل والمجالس، لكنه سمح بتواجد (5) أشخاص بحد أقصى في الأماكن المفتوحة منها ممن استكملوا جرعات لقاح (كوفيد-19)”.

واستطرد قائلاً: “كما نص قرار مجلس الوزراء على استمرار إيقاف العمل بخدمات تأجير القوارب واليخوت السياحية وقوارب النزهة، واستثنى من ذلك تواجد (5) أشخاص بحد أقصى من غير أفراد الأسرة على أن يكونوا ممن استكملوا جرعات لقاح (كوفيد-19)”.

بدوره قال السيد صالح ماجد الخليفي، وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون التجارة بوزارة التجارة والصناعة، إن “قرار مجلس الوزراء الخاص بالمطاعم وصالونات التجميل وأندية التدريب البدني، لا ينطبق فقط على الأشخاص الذين يستخدمون هذه الخدمات بل هناك أيضا مجموعة من مقدمي الخدمات مثل العاملين في المطاعم أو المدربين في الأندية أو العاملين في صالونات الحلاقة ممن قد لا يكونوا قد حصلوا على اللقاح ،وبالتالي قد يُعرضون أنفسهم أو بعض مرتادي هذه الأماكن إلى الفيروس.

وتابع: “أيضاً هذه الخدمات قد تكون في أماكن مغلقة ما سيزيد من مخاطر التعرض للفيروس خاصة في تواجد مجموعة أسر من فقاعات مختلفة في نفس المكان”.
