Qatar’s 8th International Agricultural Exhibition to Launch Next Tuesday

Doha: Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) is organizing Qatar’s 8th International Agricultural Exhibition 2021 and the second Qatar International Environmental Exhibition from 23 to 27 March at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.

In a press conference held Thursday, Head of Organizing Committee of the Exhibition and Director of Public Parks Department Mohammed Ali Al Khouri affirmed that holding the exhibition this year comes in exceptional circumstances due to the challenges of Coronavirus, as the State of Qatar was keen to organize it due to its great importance for the agricultural, animal and environmental sectors. Vice Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department Yousuf Khalid Al Khulaifi, and Chairman of the conference accompanying the exhibition Dr. Mohammed Saif Al Kuwari also spoke in the press conference.

He stated that all necessary preventive measures will be taken to ensure the health and safety of the participants and visitors, as the pre-registration process will be organized for those wishing to attend via a link to the exhibition site. After registering the data, a (barcode) will arrive on the persons phone to enter the exhibition, in addition to showing the application of Ehteraz (green), while committing to wear the mask throughout the period of his visit to the exhibition. Focus will be placed on the attendance of specialists and those interested in the agricultural and environmental fields, and children will not be allowed to enter due to the failure to hold special events for them in order to preserve their safety.

He added that the exhibition is of particular importance as it is a strategic platform to explore new horizons for the advancement of the Qatari agricultural sector, as it is the backbone of food security that comes at the top of the strategic priorities to achieve self-sufficiency. The environmental exhibition is also an effective platform for presenting innovative environmental solutions to meet current and emerging challenges and an opportunity to exchange international and local experiences.

He said that the exhibition, in both agricultural and environmental parts, attracts wide interest in light of the vital agricultural projects and promising investment opportunities that Qatar enjoy and in light of the unlimited government support, which was evident in allocating QR 70 million annually to stimulate agricultural, livestock and fish production and to enhance the marketing of national agricultural products.

Al Khouri affirmed that the State of Qatar’s keenness to organize the exhibition this year confirms the increasing interest of the state in the agricultural sector in recent years with the aim of achieving major booms in local production to increase self-sufficiency rates and achieve food security especially after the challenges imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic, and the interruption of supply chains around the world, which made achieving self-sufficiency a very vital matter for all countries. 

Al Khouri affirmed that the State of Qatar’s keenness to organize the exhibition this year confirms the state’s increasing interest in the agricultural sector in recent years, with the aim of achieving major leaps in local production to increase self-sufficiency rates and achieve food security, especially after the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the intertwined with it, along with the experienced interruptions in supply chains around the world, which made achieving self-sufficiency a matter of utmost importance for all countries.

Al Khouri pointed out that this year’s session comes as a continuation of the success of past sessions that witnessed remarkable local and international presence, as the exhibition is a direct gateway to access the latest global technological innovations that support the national trend towards expanding agricultural production to meet local demand for food products, in accordance with the objectives of the National Food Security Strategy, which represents a comprehensive framework for improving self-sufficiency according to best practices and the latest agricultural and food technology, stressing that the exhibition succeeded during the past sessions in laying solid foundations for the settlement of advanced technologies and the implementation of ambitious projects that had the greatest impact in raising the rates of self-sufficiency of vegetables, meat, fish, poultry products and eggs.

Meanwhile, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the MME Yousuf Khalid Al Khulaifi said that the State of Qatar has succeeded in achieving remarkable achievements in the development of the agricultural sector, in light of the insightful vision and wise guidance of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which placed the development of natural resources, especially agricultural, at the top of national priorities, in pursuit of self-sufficiency and food security, with a focus on adopting innovative policies, strategies and technologies that serve environmental sustainability.

Al Khulaifi explained that the State of Qatar prioritized the promotion of optimal investment in technology, research and development, and food control, as they are essential pillars to raise the volume and quality of agricultural, animal and fish production in safe and sustainable ways, in line with the objectives of Qatar’s 2nd National Development Strategy 2018-2022, represented in increasing the proportion of domestic production of livestock to 30 percent and fish to 65 percent respectively by the year 2022, in a step in support of Qatar National Vision 2030 to consolidate Qatar’s leadership as an advanced country capable of achieving sustainable development and providing decent living for its people.

Al Khulaifi noted that organizing the exhibition comes within the continuous efforts of the MME to support the agricultural sector in the country, including the launch of many programs and marketing initiatives for the products of farm owners, such as the establishment of national agricultural product yards, the distinctive vegetable and Qatar farms programs, and each of the pre-contracting program with farmers (Daman), and the daily supply program, in cooperation with Mahaseel Company, with the aim of enhancing the value of the local produce of vegetables.

Al Khouri said that organizing this exhibition comes within the framework of supporting the proactive efforts made by the State of Qatar in the environmental field, as one of the main pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030. He added that this exhibition is an effective platform and an opportunity to allow pioneers to explore promising opportunities within the vital sector in Qatar and reach directly to modern technologies related to water treatment, waste management, smart agriculture, and others. He added that the State of Qatar is keen on protecting the environment and its natural balance, in order to ensure comprehensive and sustainable development for all generations, noting the commitment of Qatar National Vision 2030 to maintaining harmony between economic growth, social development and environmental management, as well as improving the quality of life of the population, and the need for the development path to coincide. In the country, with the requirements for protection and preservation of the natural environment and its components, including air, water, soil and wildlife.

الدوحة: شاركت وزارة البلدية والبيئة معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي الثامن 2021، ومعرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثاني، خلال الفترة من 23 إلى 27 مارس الجاري في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات.

وأكد السيد محمد علي الخوري رئيس اللجنة المنظمة للمعرض مدير إدارة الحدائق العامة في مؤتمر صحفي عقد الأمس تحدث فيه السيد يوسف خالد الخليفي نائب رئيس اللجنة المنظمة مدير إدارة الشؤون الزراعية، والدكتور محمد سيف الكواري، رئيس لجنة المؤتمر المصاحب للمعرض، إن عقد المعرض هذا العام يأتي في ظروف استثنائية بسبب تحديات كورونا، حيث حرصت دولة قطر على تنظيمه نظرا لأهميته الكبيرة للقطاع الزراعي والحيواني والبيئي.

وأوضح إنه سيتم اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات الوقائية اللازمة لضمان صحة وسلامة المشاركين والزائرين، حيث سيتم تنظيم عملية الدخول بالتسجيل المسبق للراغبين في الحضور من خلال رابط بموقع المعرض وبعد تسجيل البيانات سيصل (باركود) إلى هاتف الشخص يتم بموجبه دخول المعرض بالإضافة إلى إظهار تطبيق احتراز (الأخضر)، مع الالتزام بارتداء الكمامة طوال فترة زيارته للمعرض، كما سيتم التركيز على حضور المختصين والمهتمين بالمجالين الزراعي والبيئي، ولن يسمح بدخول الأطفال نظرا لعدم إقامة فعاليات خاصة بهم حفاظا على سلامتهم..

وأضاف إن المعرض يكتسب أهمية خاصة كونه منصة استراتيجية لاستكشاف آفاق جديدة للارتقاء بالقطاع الزراعي القطري باعتباره عصب الأمن الغذائي الذي يأتي في مقدمة الأولويات الاستراتيجية لتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي، كما يعد المعرض البيئي منصة فعالة لطرح حلول بيئية مبتكرة لمواجهة التحديات الحالية والناشئة وفرصة لتبادل الخبرات الدولية والمحلية.

وقال إن المعرض يستقطب بشقيه الزراعي والبيئي، اهتماما واسعا في ظل المشاريع الزراعية الحيوية والفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة التي تزخر بها قطر، في ظل الدعم الحكومي اللامحدود والذي تجلى في تخصيص 70 مليون ريال سنويا لتحفيز الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني والسمكي وتعزيز عمليات تسويق المنتجات الزراعية الوطنية.

وأكد السيد الخوري إن حرص دولة قطر على تنظيم المعرض هذا العام، يؤكد الاهتمام المتزايد للدولة بالقطاع الزراعي خلال السنوات الأخيرة، بهدف تحقيق طفرات كبيرة في الإنتاج المحلي لزيادة معدلات نسب الاكتفاء الذاتي وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي، خصوصا بعد التحديات التي فرضتها جائحة كورونا، وما تخللها من انقطاع في سلاسل التوريد حول العالم، الأمر الذي جعل من تحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي أمرا في غاية الحيوية لجميع الدول.

وأشار إلى أن دورة هذا العام تأتي استكمالا لنجاح الدورات الماضية التي شهدت حضورا محليا ودوليا لافتا، حيث يعد المعرض بوابة مباشرة للوصول إلى أحدث الابتكارات التكنولوجية العالمية التي تدعم التوجه الوطني نحو توسيع نطاق الإنتاج الزراعي لتلبية الطلب المحلي على المنتجات الغذائية، وفق مستهدفات “الخطة الشاملة للأمن الغذائي”، والتي تمثل إطار عمل شامل لتحسين مستوى الاكتفاء الذاتي وفق أفضل الممارسات وأحدث التكنولوجيا الزراعية والغذائية. مؤكدا أن المعرض نجح خلال الدورات الماضية في إرساء دعائم متينة لتوطين التقنيات المتطورة، وتنفيذ مشروعات طموحة كان لها الأثر الأكبر في رفع معدلات الاكتفاء الذاتي من الخضروات واللحوم والأسماك ومشتقات الدواجن والبيض.

من جهته، قال السيد يوسف خالد الخليفي نائب رئيس اللجنة المنظمة مدير إدارة الشؤون الزراعية ان دولة قطر نجحت في تحقيق إنجازات لافتة على صعيد تنمية القطاع الزراعي، في ظل الرؤية الثاقبة والتوجيهات السديدة لحضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، أمير البلاد المفدى “حفظه الله ورعاه”، الذي وضع تطوير الثروات الطبيعية، وبالأخص الزراعية، على رأس الأولويات الوطنية سعيا وراء بلوغ الاكتفاء الذاتي وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي مع التركيز على تبني سياسات واستراتيجيات وتقنيات مبتكرة تصب في خدمة الاستدامة البيئية.

وأوضح أن دولة قطر تضع نصب أعينها تعزيز الاستثمار الأمثل في التكنولوجيا والبحث والتطوير والرقابة الغذائية، باعتبارها دعائم أساسية لرفع حجم وجودة الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني والسمكي بطرق آمنة ومستدامة، بما يتواءم وأهداف “استراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثانية لدولة قطر(2018 – 2022) والمتمثلة في زيادة نسبة الإنتاج المحلي من المواشي إلى 30% ومن الأسماك إلى 65% على التوالي بحلول العام 2022، وذلك في خطوة داعمة لـ “رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030″ لترسيخ ريادة قطر كدولة متقدمة قادرة على تحقيق التنمية المستدامة وتوفير العيش الكريم لشعبها.”

ونوه بأن تنظيم المعرض يأتي ضمن الجهود المستمرة لوزارة البلدية والبيئة لدعم القطاع الزراعي في الدولة، ومن بينها إطلاق العديد من البرامج والمبادرات التسويقية لمنتجات أصحاب المزارع مثل إنشاء ساحات المنتج الزراعي القطري، وبرنامجي الخضروات المميزة ومزارع قطر، وكل من برنامج التعاقد المسبق مع المزارعين (ضمان)، وبرنامج التوريد اليومي، بالتعاون مع شركة محاصيل، وذلك بهدف تعزيز قيمة المنتج المحلي من الخضروات.

وحول معرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثاني أكد السيد محمد الخوري رئيس اللجنة المنظمة للمعرض مدير إدارة الحدائق العامة إن تنظيم هذا المعرض يأتي في إطار دعم الجهود السباقة التي تبذلها دولة قطر في مجال الاهتمام بالبيئة، باعتبارها إحدى الركائز الأساسية لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، مشيرا إلى أن هذا المعرض يعتبر منصة فعالة وفرصة لإتاحة المجال أمام الرواد لاستكشاف الفرص الواعدة ضمن القطاع الحيوي في قطر والوصول مباشرة إلى التقنيات الحديثة ذات الصلة بمعالجة المياه وإدارة النفايات والزراعة الذكية وغيرها.

وأضاف أن دولة قطر حريصة كل الحرص على حماية البيئة وتوازنها الطبيعي، تحقيقا للتنمية الشاملة والمستدامة لكل الأجيال، مشيرا إلى التزام رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 بالمحافظة على الانسجام بين النمو الاقتصادي والتنمية الاجتماعية والإدارة البيئية، إلى جانب تحسين نوعية حياة السكان، وضرورة أن يتوافق مسار التنمية في الدولة مع متطلبات الحماية والمحافظة على البيئة الطبيعية وعناصرها من هواء وماء وتربة وحياة فطرية.

من جانبه، أوضح الدكتور محمد سيف الكواري رئيس لجنة المؤتمر المصاحب للمعرض الزراعي والبيئي أن الجديد في دورة هذا العام هو تنظيم سلسلة من الندوات الافتراضية المتخصصة عبر الإنترنت بالتزامن مع المعرض. والتي تستضيف أكثر من 30 خبيرا ومتحدثا من 16 دولة حول العالم لبحث ومناقشة أبرز العناوين والتحديات في القطاعين الزراعي والبيئي، مثل كيفية تحقيق التنمية المستدامة في مجالي الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني، وتطوير تقنيات نظيفة وصديقة للبيئة في إدارة الموارد المائية ومعالجة مياه الصرف الصحي، ودور التكنولوجيا المبتكرة في تعزيز الإنتاج وتحسين نوعيته، وغيرها من القضايا التي تهم مختلف العاملين في القطاعين الزراعي والبيئي. وأشار الدكتور الكواري إلى أن جميع هذه الندوات سيتم بثها عبر الإنترنت وسيكون التسجيل متاحا لجميع الراغبين بالحضور بشكل مجاني، وذلك في ظل الالتزام بكافة التدابير والمعايير اللازمة التي وضعتها الجهات المعنية بالدولة للحفاظ على الصحة والسلامة العامة.

من ناحيتها اوضحت السيدة هيفاء العتيبي عضو اللجنة المنظمة لمعرض قطر الزراعي والبيئي الدولي ان المعرض اصبح من اهم المعارض في المنطقة باعتباره منصة تتيح أمام الشركات المحلية والدولية فرصة ثمينة لتبادل الخبرات والتعاون بمجالات الاستثمار المتعددة .

وأكدت أن ما يميز المعرض في هذه النسخة وجود جهات حكومية داعمة وينتظر ان تقوم بعرض تجاربها في الحفاظ على الجانب البيئي .

وأشادت بمشاركات هيئات وجهات حكومية مثل هيئة الأشغال العامة ، وكهرماء، والقطاع التعليمي متمثلا في جامعة قطر( قسم الدراسات البيئية)، وجامعة حمد بن خليفة ، ومعهد البحوث والطاقة ،والمدينة التعليمية،وواحة قطر للعلوم والتكنولوجيا.

وكشفت هيفاء العتيبي عن تدشين عدة كتب خلال المعرض أبرزها كتاب التقويم الزراعي وكتاب الحالة البيئية ، وتدشين أول موسوعة قطرية من نوعها للنباتات في شرق شبه الجزيرة العربية بالتعاون المنظمة الخليجية للبحث والتطوير (جورد)،وسيتم تدشين أول وأكبر مصنع نباتات متطور في الشرق الأوسط ، بالإضافة إلى توقيع عدة اتفاقيات ومشاريع تطرح لأول مره مثل تدشين المنتج العضوي الذي سيتم تدشينه من قبل إدارة الشؤون الزراعية في الوزارة.

ويحتضن معرض قطر الزراعي مناطق عرض متخصصة، وعلى رأسها “منطقة المنتجات البيطرية” (VeteQ) التي تعتبر منصة متخصصة بالصحة البيطرية، تعنى بالتعريف بمجموعة كبيرة من الخدمات والمعدات والمنتجات البيطرية الخاصة بالماشية والدواجن والأنواع الأخرى إلى جانب “منطقة الصناعات الغذائية” (FoodteQ) والتي تسلط الضوء على أحدث المنتجات الزراعية وآلات تعبئة وتغليف ومعالجة الأطعمة، إضافة إلى سوق الخضار الذي يضم حوالي 100 مزرعة قطرية تقدم للجمهور إنتاجها من الخضروات والفواكه الطازجة، وسوق العسل والتمر الذي يجمع نخبة منتجي العسل والتمر، فضلا عن سوق المشاتل الذي يقام للمرة الأولى هذه السنة.

ويشارك في المعرض أكثر من 200 شركة عارضة من قطاعات الزراعة والبيئة والغذاء والإنتاج الحيواني تتوزع على مساحة تبلغ 23 ألف متر مربع.

كما تشارك بالمعرض أكثر من 35 دولة من خلال سفاراتها ومكاتبها التجارية في الدوحة.
