Tunisian restaurant makes africa’s most expensive gold flakes pizza

Tunisia: Everyone loves its round shape, delicious taste and its layers filled with mozzarella cheese, steaks or chicken breast. It’s pizza, where everyone can get a slice in the right size and price in Tunisia, even those who love the taste of golden flakes and can afford it.

Italian restaurant Dapietro Pezzria invented a pizza for 999 dinars (US$360), with fine ingredients and edible gold flakes. It is a remarkable innovation and a move in the world of luxury.

It was the restaurant’s founder, Ahmed Hergal, who wanted to break the record for Africa’s most expensive pizza. This pizza is covered with 24-carat gold flakes, but that’s not all, as it has black or white truffle butter, mozzarella cheese and smoked duck breasts, with gold flakes or gold spray with an edible flower on top of the pizza dough.

A lot of people on social media didn’t like the price.

“We chose to make this pizza so that we could put in high-quality, luxurious ingredients and when we did all this the price went up,” says Hergal.

“When you travel and find a chef or a respected restaurant, you find a special product that is very expensive,” said Zaki Kraib, a regular customer of Dapietro Pizzeria.

“I saw many comments on social media where people didn’t like the price, for me I’m not going to buy this pizza not because I don’t like it, but I will say hats off to the chef.” Kraib added

كثير من الناس على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي لم يعجبهم السعر.

يقول هرقال «اخترنا عمل هذه البيتزا حتى نتمكن من وضع مكونات فاخرة وعالية الجودة وعندما فعلنا كل هذا ارتفع سعرها». من جانبه يقول زكي كرايب من رواد مطعم بيتزا دابييترو «عندما تسافر وتجد طاهيًا أو مطعمًا محترمًا تجد منتجًا عليه بصمة خاصة وباهظ الثمن للغاية. رأيت العديد من التعليقات في وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي ولم يعجب الناس السعر، بالنسبة لي أنا لن أشتري هذه البيتزا ليس لأنني لا أحب ذلك ولكني أقول أحسنت إلى صانعها».
