DFI expands its global reach with largest virtual edition of Qumra 2021

Film Visionaries Claire Denis, James Gray, Jessica Hausner, Mark Mangini and Phedon Papamichael, return for Doha Film Institute’s annual industry incubator for exceptional talent

• Qumra Masters to provide unique creative development and mentorship opportunities online to filmmakers of 48 selected projects from 21 countries including 19 from Qatar
• Selected projects include 30 features, 6 series and 12 shorts; with Qatari projects represented across all formats
• Focused sessions for series projects development from the Arab world delivered online

Doha, Qatar: February 22, 2021: Legendary French auteur Claire Denis, BAFTA and Academy Award® nominated cinematographer Phedon Papamichael, internationally celebrated director and Cannes veteran James Gray, Silver Lion winning film director and screenwriter Jessica Hausner and Academy Award® winning sound designer Mark Mangini re-confirmed their commitments as Qumra Masters for the 2021 online edition of Doha Film Institute’s event dedicated to supporting important new voices from the Arab and world cinema.

Over the past seven years, Qumra has been a one-of-a-kind professional incubator crucial to the success of filmmakers from the Arab world and beyond. The Qumra 2021 programme, scheduled from March 12-17 will present 48 selected projects from 21 countries as part of DFI’s mission to nurture the success of filmmakers from the region and beyond and prepare them to bring their projects to audiences around the world.

Fatma Hassan Alremaihi, Chief Executive Officer of the Doha Film Institute, said: “Qumra is an extremely important event for our community and participants, and is crucial for the success of the selected projects who represent some of the most promising names in world cinema. Doha Film Institute Artistic Advisor and filmmaker, Elia Suleiman, said: “In the midst of the adversity of the COVID-19 outbreak, it was of utmost importance for us to protect the promise of the outstanding projects in the previous edition of Qumra, regardless of the disruption that the pandemic caused to our ‘normal’. A year on, we look forward to welcoming our Master’s back to bring their immense value to an exciting new line-up of projects, on a more robust and interactive online platform. The true test of powerful storytelling lies in its ability to transgress all limitations, and we are indebted to the Qumra Masters for the power of their vision to transcend physical boundaries and inspire this year’s participants to boldly redefine global storytelling.”

Continuing the Institute’s commitment to support promising talent in evolving forms of creativity and new possibilities, Qumra 2021 includes sessions dedicated to exploring and developing fresh new projects from the region. This year’s event features 19 projects by Qatar-based talent, including 12 by Qatari nationals. A total of 48 projects, including Series Projects in various stages of development, will participate. Of these projects, 39 are recipients of the Doha Film Institute’s Grants programme and the Qatari Film Fund. In all, 15 feature projects are in the development stage, 15 feature projects in post-production, 6 TV and web Series Projects in Development, and 12 Shorts Projects (in Development and Post-Production).

Development- Feature Narrative

• A Road to Damascus (Lebanon, France, Qatar) by Meedo Taha is about an ambitious policewoman who conducts a murder investigation that threatens to turn her own hometown against her.
• Ashkal (Tunisia, France, Qatar) by Youssef Chebbi follows Batal and Fatma carrying out an investigation on a strange case of self-immolation. The mystery grows when a new calcined body is found in the same neighbourhood.
• Cotton Queen (Sudan, Qatar) by Suzannah Mirghani is set in a cotton-farming village in Sudan, where 15-year-old Nafisa must stand up for the idea of love and stand up to her greatest obstacle: her grandmother, the foreboding Al-Sit.
• Hounds (Morocco, France, Belgium, Qatar) by Kamal Lazraq is set in the working-class suburbs of Casablanca, father and son Hassan and Issam, survive from day to day by doing small-time deals and running errands for local gangs, when, one night they are asked to carry out an abduction.
• In a Dream You Saw A Way to Survive and You Were Full of Joy (Lebanon, UK, Qatar) by Remi Itani, faced with an unintended pregnancy, a young Lebanese woman’s shame, fear and denial turns into a ghostly veil that haunts her, forcing her to redefine her relationship with men, her city and her oblivious mother.
• My Classmate Ali for Supreme Leader (Qatar) by Nadia Al-Khater- a tenth grader’s humble campaign for student council secretary is overshadowed by her older brother’s sensational run for president.
• The Pearl (Qatar) by Noor Al-Nasser – when a tech-obsessed Qatari teen who is disconnected from his family travels back to a time before technology existed and pearl diving was the main source of income, he is forced to learns how to communicate face-to-face to reconnect with his family.
• Under Construction (Lebanon, Qatar) by Nadim Tabet -When Syrian workers mysteriously start disappearing from a construction site located near a Lebanese village, Tarek, a 30-year-old worker is haunted by the ghost of a woman who was allegedly murdered by a soldier when the village was under Syrian military occupation.

Development-Feature Documentary

• Companions of The White Arc (Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Romania, Norway) by Elia Youssef and Mohammed Al-Thani – Moe Al Thani attempts his last climb solo in an effort to become the first Qatari to achieve mountaineering’s coveted “Grand Slam” title. His North Pole expedition pushes him far beyond his comfort zone, allowing him to truly discover his inner voice and deep connection with nature.
• Handala, The Boy Without a Face (Lebanon, Qatar) by Mahmoud Kaabour depicts a treasure hunt, emanating from a sketch of a young refugee that has been circulating around the world for over fifty years.
• Jodari Meno (Qatar, Italy, Zanzibar) by Jamal Al-Khanji and David Ochoa- A Qatari spearfisherman embarks on a journey of self-exploration by chasing his dream of catching a once in a lifetime fish in this story of how passion helps shape his world and the life of those around him in ways he never thought possible.
• My Father’s House (Denmark, UK, Palestine, Qatar) by Mahdi Fleifel – A personal story about memory, exile, and a father and his son.
• The Camera Never Cries (Sudan, Qatar) by Abuzar Adam, Elsadig Abdelgayoum- Driven by their passion for change, two filmmakers document the 2019 Sudanese revolution. A year later during the Covid-19 lockdown, they reunite to explore the story of the revolution and their growing friendship.
• Theft of Fire (Canada, Palestine, Qatar) by Amer Shomali- A lonely Palestinian artist hatches a daring plot to break into a secret Israeli prison and steal back a trove of looted antiquities from a legendary general. A hybrid documentary based on a true story.
• Wall of Death (Morocco, France, Qatar) by Amine Sabir- Hassan and Khadra have been performing the motorcycle acrobatics Wall of Death show for four decades but refuse to let their 27-year-old daughter Zahra take over. Zahra finds herself torn between solidarity with family and the desire to choose another path.

• Whether the Weather is Fine (Philippines, France, Singapore, Germany, Indonesia, Qatar) by Carlo Francisco Manatad follows Miguel after he wakes up in the chaos of Typhoon Haiyan, which destroyed Tacloban—a coastal city in the Philippines, in November 2013.
• White Building (Cambodia, France, China, Qatar) by Kavich Neang – Samnang faces the demolition of his lifelong home in Phnom Penh coupled with pressures from family, friends, and neighbours, which all arise and intersect at this moment of sudden change.

• 5 Seasons of Revolution (Syria, Germany, Norway, Qatar) by LINA – Lina wanted to become simply a camera woman. But after the uprising in Syria, it didn’t take long until events escalated, and arrests, torture, and potentially life-threatening situations became a reality for Lina to negotiate as a new norm.
• Fragments from Heaven (Morocco, France, Qatar) by Adnane Baraka – The story of nomad Mohamed, scientist Abderrahmane, and other Bedouins searching the Moroccan desert for the same celestial stone that could change the finder’s life forever, each for their own reasons. • And I Was Left Behind (Qatar, Kuwait) by Maysaa Almumin – Long after her passing, my grandmother’s words told to me as a child, finally make sense to me decades later.
• And Then They Burn the Sea (Qatar) by Majid Al Remaihi – is an elegy to the filmmaker’s mother. Weaving through images, personal archives, and cultural motifs, the film is a meditation on ambiguous loss, the sea, and dreams.

الدوحة، قطر، XX فبراير 2021: تشهد دورة 2021 من قمرة عودة المخرجة السينمائية الفرنسية كلير دينيس والمصوّر السينمائي المُرشح لجائزتيّ الأوسكار والبافتا فيدون باباميتشيل، بلإضافة إلى المخرج العالمي الذي شاركت أفلامه في العديد من دورات مهرجان كان السينمائي جيمس غراي كذلك المخرجة والكاتبة السينمائية الحائزة على جائزة الأسد الفضي جيسيكا هاوسنر ومصمّم الصوت الحائز على جائزة الأوسكار مارك مانجيني، حيث ستعقد مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام برنامج هذا العام عبر الفضاء الرقمي إستكمالاً لمسيرة قمرة في دعم الأصوات الجديدة البارزة في السينما العربية والعالمية.

عمل قمرة منذ نشأتة قبل سبعة سنوات على تكوين حاضنة فريدة من نوعها تلعب دورااً محورياً في نجاح صناع الأفلام من داخل وخارج العالم العربي. وستقدّم نسخة هذا العام، التي تعقد في الفترة من 12 إلى 17 مارس، 48 مشروعاً مختاراً من 21 دولة استكمالاً لمهمة مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام في دفع عجلة نجاح صناع الأفلام داخل وخارج الوطن العربي وتزويدهم بكل ما تتطلبه مشاريعهم لعرضها أمام الجماعير العالمية.

وقالت فاطمة حسن الرميحي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام: ” إن قمرة حدث بالغ الأهمية لمجتمعنا وللمشاركين، كما أنه نقطة حاسمة لنجاح المشاريع المختارة التي تمثل بعض من الأسماء الواعدة في السينما العالمية. والمؤسسة ممتنة لأساتذة قمرة وصانعي الأفلام والمشاركين في الصناعة؛ على شغفهم ومساهمتهم معنا لتحقيق التزامنا بإعادة تشكيل المشهد العالمي لسرد القصص وتمكين الأصوات الناشئة خلال هذه الفترة من التحديات الجديدة”.

وأضافت: “من خلال الإرشاد والتوجيه الذي سيقدمه هؤلاء الحالمون المبدعون؛ سيكتسب صانعو الأفلام المشاركون فرصة فريدة لتعزيز حرفتهم، وتحويل القصص الملهمة إلى روائع حائزة على جوائز. ونتطلع إلى دعم المواهب الواعدة في المستقبل، ومشاركة عملهم مع مجتمع قمرة العالمي المتنامي باستمرار، عبر هذه النسخة الافتراضية الجديدة الأكبر والأكثر ابتكارًا التي تتيح الوصول من أي مكان في العالم”.

وبدوره قال إيليا سليمان، صانع الأفلام والمستشار الفني لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام: ” في ظل مخاطر جائحة كورونا، كان لزاماً علينا الوفاء بوعدنا وحماية الآفاق الواعدة للمشاريع المميّزة التي قدّمتها النسخ السابقة من قمرة بغض النظر عن كل تعقيدات كورونا. ومن هذا المنطلق، فإننا ننتظر بكل حماس عودة خبراء قمرة ونتطلع إلى ما سيقدّمونه من فائدة قيّمة لباقة جديدة من المشاريع في نسخة جديدة سنوية من ملتقى قمرة خصصنا لها منصةً متينةً وتفاعلية عبر شبكة الإنترنت. إن الاختبار الحقيقي الذي يثبت قوة سرد القصص؛ يتمثّل في قدرته على تجاوز كافة العقبات والقيود، ونحن ممتنون لخبراء قمرة ورؤاهم القوية والمتفرّدة والتي نجحت في تجاوز كافة الحدود المكانية وستُلهم صنّاع الأفلام المشاركين في هذه الدورة للعمل على إعادة صياغة مفردات سرد القصص على مستوى العالم.”

واستكمالاً لالتزام مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام بدعم المواهب الواعدة عبر مختلف الوسائط الإبداعية التي تشهد تطوراً مستمراً وآفاقاً واعدة وجديدة، سيشهد برنامج قمرة 2021 جلسات تركّز على اكتشاف وتطوير مشاريع مبتكرة جديدة من الوطن العربي. تضمّ نسخة هذا العام 19 مشروعاً من صنّاع أفلام واعدين وموهوبين من دولة قطر، بما في ذلك 12 مشروعاً لصناّع أفلام قطريين، من المقرر أن يشارك 48 مشروعاً في هذه الدورة بما في ذلك مسلسلات في مراحل مختلفة من التطوير. وقد نال 39 مشروعاً من مشاريع قمرة لهذا العام دعماً من برنامج المنح وصندوق الفيلم القطري التابعيّن لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام. وتقسم مشاريع هذا العام إلى 15 فيلماً طويلاً في مرحلة التطوير، و15 فيلماً طويلاً في مرحلة ما بعد الإنتاج، و6 مسلسلات ويب في مرحلة التطوير، و12 فيلماً قصيراً في مرحلة التطوير وما بعد الإنتاج.

مشاريع الأفلام الطويلة

مرحلة التطوير- الفيلم الروائي الطويل

• طريق إلى دمشق (لبنان، فرنسا، قطر) لميدو طه ويسرد قصة شرطية طموحة توكل إليها مهمة التحقيق في جريمة قتل، ولكن التحقيق يؤلّب مدينتها عليها.
• أشكال (تونس، فرنسا، قطر) ليوسف شيبي ويدور حول قصة بطل وفاطمة اللذيّن يحقّقان في قضية غريبة عن شخص قام بحرق نفسه، وتزداد القضية غموضاً عندما يكتشف سكان الحي جثة ثانية محترقة.
• عروسة القطن (السودان، قطر) لسوزانا ميرغني ويحكي قصة تجري أحداثها في قرية سودانية تشتهر بزراعة القطن، وبطلتها هي نفيسة التي تبلغ من العمر 15 عاماً، والتي تدافع عن فكرة الحب في أكبر معركة في حياتها في وجه جدتها الست المسيطرة.
• الشراذم (المغرب، فرنسا، بلجيكا، قطر) لكمال لزرق وهو فيلم تجري أحداثه في الأرياف الفقيرة في الدار البيضاء حيث يكسب حسن وابنه عصام قوت يومهم من خلال القيام بتنفيذ مهام صغيرة مع العصابات المحلية، ولكن يطلب منهم في أحد الأيام تولي عملية خطف.
• في أحد الأحلام، رأيت وسيلة للنجاة وكانت السعادة تملأ قلبك (لبنان، بريطانيا، قطر) لريمي عيتاني، يحكي قصة امرأة شابة حبلى نتيجة لعلاقة غير مشروعة، وتصيطر على الفتاة جراء هذا الأمر مشاعر العار والخوف والإنكار التي تتجسّد لها في هيئة شبح يؤرّقها ويطاردها، وهو ما يجبرها على إعادة تعريف مفهوم علاقاتها بالرجال ومجتمعها وأمها الطيبة.
• نتخبوا زميلي علي (قطر) لنادية الخاطر – تدور الأحداث حول طالبة في الصف العاشر، تقود حملة متواضعة لترشيح نفسها لمنصب سكرتير مجلس الطلاب، لكن حملتها تتوارى بسبب حملة أخيها الأكبر الذي يسعى للفوز بمنصب رئيس المجلس.
• لؤلؤة (قطر) لنورا النصر، وهو قصة مراهق قطري مولع بأمور التكنولوجيا ولكنه يشعر بالانعزال عن عائلته. يسافر المراهق بالزمن إلى الماضي إلى عالم لم تكن فيه التكنولوجيا موجودة وكان البحث عن اللؤلؤ هي وسيلة كسب العيش الرئيسية في قطر، وهنا يضطر هذا الفتى إلى الاعتماد على مهاراته في التواصل مع الناس وجهاً لوجه بعيداً عن الشاشات التي يحبّها إذا ما أراد أن يعود إلى عائلته وزمنه.
• ورشة (لبنان، قطر) لنديم تابت، ويسرد قصة تدور أحداثها في ورشة بناء بالقرب من إحدى القرى اللبنانية يعمل فيها عمال سوريون يبدؤون في الاختفاء في ظروف غامضة بشكل مفاجىْ دون سبب. ويطارد شبح امرأة أحد العمال السوريين البالغ من العمر 30 عاماً، إذ يكتشف طارق أن الشبح هو شبح امرأة لبنانية يقال أنها قتلت على يد جندي في القرية في الوقت الذي كانت القرية تخضع لسيطرة قوات الجيش السوري الذي احتل لبنان.

مرحلة التطوير – الفيلم الوثائقي الطويل

• رفاق القوس الأبيض (قطر، الأردن، لبنان، رومانيا، النرويج) لإيليا يوسف ومحمد آل ثاني. يتمحور الفيلم حول محمد آل ثاني الذي يقرّر إتمام آخر رحلات تسلقه وحيداً ليكون أول قطري يحقّق هذا الإنجاز النادر. يواجه محمد في رحلته إلى القطب الشمالي اختباراً مختلفاً تماماً عن كل ما يعرفه، ليجد نفسه أمام رحلة وجودية يكتشف خلالها صوته الداخلي واتصاله العميق مع الطبيعة.
• حنظلة… صبي بلا وجه (لبنان، قطر) لمحمود قعبور ويروي قصة كنز منشود أخفيت خريطته في معالم طفل لاجئ يتناقل الناس صورته منذ أكثر من 50 عاماً.
• جوداري مانو (قطر، إيطاليا، زنجبار) لجمال الخنجي وديفيد أوكوا، ويدور حول صياد ورمّاح قطري ينطلق في رحلة يكتشف بها ذاته ويحقق حلم حياته باصطياد السمكة التي استعصت عليه في فرصة لا تأتي إلا مرة واحدة في العمر. تتجلّى في هذا الفيلم قدرة الشغف على تشكيل العالم وحياة الناس من حوله بطرق لم يخيّل للصياد أنها ممكنة.
• منزل والدي (الدنمارك، بريطانيا، فلسطين، قطر) لمهدي فليفل، ويروي قصة عن الذاكرة والمنفى وأبّ وابنه.
• الكاميرا لا تبكي (السودان، قطر) لأبو ذر آدم والصادق عبد القيوم، ويقدّم محاولة لتوثيق الثورة السودانية التي اندلعت عام 2019 ، وخلال حظر كورونا بعد مرور عام على الثورة. يلتقي أبو ذر والصادق معاً للتنقيب في قصة الثورة وصداقتهما المتنامية.
• سرقة النار (كندا، فلسطين، قطر) لعامر شوملي، ويقدّم قصة فنان فلسطيني وحيد يحاول وضع خطة جريئة للتسلل إلى سجن إسرائيلي سري وسرقة قطع أثرية من جنرال أسطوري. فيلم هجين يمزج بين الروائي والوثائقي.
• جدار الموت (المغرب، فرنسا، قطر) لأمين صابر، ويدور حول حسن وخضرة اللذين يؤدّيان عرض الدراجات النارية “جدار الموت” منذ أربعة عقود، ولكنها يمنعان ابنتهما زهرة ذات الـ27 عاماً من وراثة حرفة العائلة. تجد زهرة نفسها ممزّقةً بين التضامن مع عائلتها ورغبتها باختيار دربها.

• كوستا برافا لبنان (لبنان، فرنسا، إسبانيا، السويد، الدنمارك، النرويج، قطر) لمنيه العقل، ويحكي قصة عائلة البدري التي تعيش معزولةً في قمم الجبال اللبنانية. تقرّر الحكومة بناء مكب نفايات بجوار منزلهم وبهذا يعود شبح ما هربت منه عائلة البدري لينغّص عليهم حياتهم المثالية.

مشاريع وصلت إلى نسخها النهائية

• الحركة العظيمة (بوليفيا، فرنسا، سويسرا، قطر) لكيرو روسو، ويحكي قصة عامل يصيبه المرض فور وصوله إلى مدينة لا باز، وتحاول جدته أن تخلّصه من مرضه باللجوء إلى مشعوذ.
• أوركا (قطر، إيران) للمخرجة سحر مصيبي- يقدّم الفيلم تصوراً للبحر المظلم الذي تخاف أن يبتلعك لكنه يخفي الخلاص الذي تبحث عنه.
• الامتحان (العراق، ألمانيا، قطر) لشوكت أمين كوركي، ويتمحور حول روجين وأختها شيلان التي تعرف أن دخول الجامعة هي الطريقة الوحيدة التي تستطيع من خلالها تجنيب أختها مصير الزواج القسري، مما يدفع الأختين إلى وضع خطة للغش في امتحان قبول الجامعة وذلك بشراء الأجوبة الصحيحة.
• البحر أمامكم (لبنان، فرنسا، بلجيكا، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، قطر) لإيلي داغر، ويروي قصة امرأة شابة تعود إلى موطنها بعد غياب طويل وتحاول إحياء علاقتها بالعالم المألوف الغريب الذي هجرته منذ زمن طويل.
• وطيس الحرب (تنزانيا، جنوب أفريقيا، ألمانيا، قطر) لأميل شيفجي، ويقدّم قصة حب بين عروس هندية-زنجبارية هاربة وشاب شيوعي في أزقة المستعمرة البريطانية في زنجبار في خمسينات القرن الماضي، حيث تتداخل مشاعر الحب بروح المقاومة.
• سواء كان الطقس جيداً (الفلبين، فرنسا، سنغافورة، ألمانيا، إندونيسيا، قطر) لكارلو فرانسيسكو مناتد، ويدور حول ميغيل الذي وجد نقسه في قلب إعصار هايان الذي دمّر مدينة تاكلوبان الساحلية في الفلبين في نوفمبر 2013.
• المبنى الأبيض (كمبوديا، فرنسا، الصين، قطر) لكافيتش نيانغ، ويحكي قصة سامنانغ الذي يواجه سيناريو هدم موطنه بنوم بنه بالتوازي مع ضغوطات من عائلته وأصدقائه وجيرانه التي تتآمر عليه جميعاً في لحظة تغيير مفاجئة.

• معجزة ألميريا (بلجيكا، سويسرا، هولندا، قطر) لمون بليس، ويتناول حياة مواطني مدينة ألميريا، الشرعيين منهم وغير الشرعيين، الذين يتعاونون معاً لفضح منظومة العنف التي تنتج البندورة في أكبر حديقة خضراوات في العالم.
• خمسة فصول للثورة (سوريا، ألمانيا، النرويج، قطر) لليلى أبيض، ويروي قصة لينا التي كانت تملك حلماً بسيطاً، وهو أن تصبح مصوّرة، ولكن تسارعت الأحداث بصورة رهيبة بعد اندلاع الثورة في سوريا وتحوّل حلم لينا إلى واقع يحيط فيه بها من كل مكان الاعتقالات والتعذيب والخطر، وعلى لينا الآن أن تتكيّف مع واقعها الجديد.
• شظايا السماء (المغرب، فرنسا، قطر) لعدنان بركة، ويتناول قصة البدوي محمد والعالم عبد الرحمن ومعهما البدويون الذين يبحثون في فضاء الصحراء المغربية عن الحجر السماوي نفسه الذي قد يغيّر مجرى حياة أي إنسان يجده، وكلّ منهم له أسبابه الخاصة للبحث عن الحجر. يختزل هذا البحث تطلعات وأحلاماً نجد صداها في قلب كل واحد منا.

• أطلانطيد (إيطاليا، فرنسا، قطر) ليوري أنكاراني، ويسلّط الضوء على مدينة فينيسيا، أو البندقية، وجناديلها وقنواتها وقصورها حيث استبدل السياح سكان مدينة الأصليين. وفي قلب مجتمع بديل متمرّد على هذا الواقع يركّز الفيلم على مجموعة من المراهقين الذين يقطعون طريقهم نحو الرجولة على قواربهم السريعة المعروفة باسم “بارتشيني”.
• أطفال العدو (السويد، الدنمارك، قطر) لجوركي جلاسر-مولر ويحكي قصة رجل سلبت منه داعش ابنته، فهل سيستطيع إنقاذ أحفاده؟
• الأطفال المريعون (فرنسا، ألمانيا، تركيا، قطر) لأحمد نجدت جوبور، تدور الأحداث في قرية تركية واقعة على الحدود السورية حيث يصبّ المجتمع غضبه على شاب اسمه محمود وأخته المراهقة زينب بسبب قراراتهما التي خالفت التقاليد لتبدأ بذلك معركة مستحيلة.
• فلسطيننا الصغيرة (لبنان، فرنسا، سوريا، قطر) لعبد الله الخطيب ويتناول قصة مجموعة من الناشطين المدنيين الفلسطينيين في مخيم اليرموك للاجئين الواقع بالقرب من دمشق. تقرّر المجموعة مواجهة الفوضى التي حوّلت هذا المجتمع الصغير إلى سجن محاصر وسلاحها أنشطتها المدنية والزراعية ودراسة ونشر الموسيقى والمسرح والبهجة.

الأفلام القصيرة

الأفلام الروائية القصيرة – مرحلة التطوير

• الفنار (قطر) لعائشة المهندي، ويحكي قصة امرأة يذهب أبوها في رحلة بحرية ويتركها تواجه حياة تراجيدية وحدها على الرغم من أنها تسكن في حي سكانه طيبون.
• القرابة (قطر) لعلي الهاجري ويحكي قصة خالد الذي يخيّم على حياته ظلّ مع مولد ابنه، وهنا يتحتم عليه أن يواجه ماضيه إذا أراد أن يعيش مستقبله.
• التجربة (قطر) لعبد الله الحر، وتجري أحداثه في سجن في أحد دول الشرق الأوسط. يواجه باحث عمره 30 عاماً ضغطاً من زملائه حيث عليه أن يفوز بتحد كي يثبت أن تجربته التأهيلية ناجحة وإلا فإنه سيفقد وظيفته وكرامته أمام ألد منافسيه.
• قصت ظفايرها (قطر) لمها الجفيري، ويحكي قصة فتاة صغيرة تفعل كل ما بوسعها لإخفاء قصة شعرها الجديدة من أمها المتسلّطة.

أفلام الرسوم المتحركة القصيرة – مشاريع قيد التحضير

• الانتقام لا يعرف شيئا (قطر) لعبد الله الجناحي وعبد العزيز خشابي، ويسرد قصتين تبرزان الآثار المرعبة التي يخلّفها ظلم الناس وأنانيتهم على ضحاياهم أكانوا من بني البشر أم غير ذلك.

الأفلام الوثائقية القصيرة – مشاريع قيد التحضير

• نلعب عسكرة يلا (اليمن، قطر) لمريم الذبحاني، ويحكي قصة ناصر وأدهم وأحمد الذين يختزلون قصة ثلاثة أجيال من الأطفال الجنود الذين ابتلعتهم الحرب المستمرة في اليمن.

• تركوني وحيدة (قطر، الكويت) لميساء المومن – وعن الفيلم تقول مخرجته: أخبرتني جدتي التي توفيّت قبل سنوات؛ بضع كلمات وأنا طفلة لم أفهم معناها الحقيقي إلا بعد عقود.
• ومن ثم سيحرقون البحر (قطر) لماجد الرميحي هو قصيدة رثاء رسمها صانع الفيلم لأمه تنسج بين الصور والأرشيفات الشخصية والقيم الثقافية. الفيلم رحلة تأملية في الفقدان غير المفهوم والبحر والأحلام.
• حلم اليقظة (قطر، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بولندا) لأني هيندريكس ووجتوسسز – عندما تقهر الأحلام حياة اليقظة ويتنكّر الواقع بقناع الخيال – “لا تترك وطنك.”
• قصيدة عن الوحدة (قطر، لبنان) لروان ناصف عن امرأة تعيش وحيدة في غرفة فندقية مربعة تطل على المدينة، وتقرر تصوير نفسها وأحوال المدينة وأحلامها لمدة شهر.
• الصوت الافتراضي (قطر، السودان) لسوزانا ميرغني ويركز على سوزي نفسها التي تمثّل صوت جيلها… أو بالأحرى الصوت الافتراضي لجيلها.

الأفلام الوثائقية القصيرة – مشاريع وصلت إلى نسخها النهائية

• لا ترتاح كثيراً (اليمن، الإمارات العربية المتحدة، كينيا، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، هولندا، قطر) لشيماء التميمي، ويروي قصة رسالة أرسلتها شيماء إلى جديها بعد أكثر من 50 عاماً على وفاتهما تسلّط الضوء على رحلة الهجرة والانتقال مستعرضةً أعباء الترحال المستمر التي أثقلت المهاجرين اليمنيين عبر الأجيال.

مشاريع المسلسلات

• المحليين. قطر. (قطر) من إخراج سعود آل الثاني عن سيناريو لستيفين أوكسنر وإنتاج فهد العطية وجوليا ساغينوروفا وغالينا بوت. يقدّم العمل نظرة شاملة على مفهوم المسؤولية وحس الانتماء في مكان يشكل الضيوف 90 % من شريحته السكانية.
• الصباح في جنين (فلسطين، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بريطانيا، قطر) من إخراج آن ماري جاسر وإنتاج أليسون ستيرلنغ عن سيناريو لإسماعيل خالد ونايومي والاس ويقدم قصة إنسانية عميقة عن تشعّبات حياة ثلاثة أشقاء أخذتهم خياراتهم في دروب مختلفة جداً تحت قسوة الصراع. تبدأ القصة في فلسطين عام 1947 وتغوص في معاني الصداقة والحب والشجاعة والأمل.
• حكايات غريبة من أرض غريبة (الأردن، قطر) من إخراج أحمد سمارة وكتايته، بالاشتراك مع آلاء الحصن وعلاء الدين قراقيش وإنتاج آلاء الحصن. يقدّم العمل قصة عن بلوغ النضج بطلتها فتاة اسمها آية، نكتشف من خلالها مجموعة من القصص التي تعكس القصص والميثولوجيا التاريخية المتنوّعة التي يزخر بها العالم العربي.
• صعود القط المجنون (قطر) من إخراج وكتابة وإنتاج مشعل العبد الله وإبراهيم العبد الله. يروي العمل قط شارد يلتقي في أحد الأيام بالسمكة كاسبر، ويتعاونان مع جيمي لمواجهة تحديات مختلفة وبناء شبكة من العلاقات بهدف بناء إمبراطوريتهم الحديثة.
• سباق الملل (لبنان، قطر) من إخراج و كتابة محمد بيرو عن سيناريو لمحمد بيرو وفؤاد حلواني وإنتاج محمد بيرو وفؤاد حلواني. تجري الأحداث خلال الحرب الباردة في الثمانينات. يقوم ولدا العم اللبنانيان بالاستيلاء على طائرة وأخذ المسافرين رهائن للمطالبة بإطلاق سراح سجين سياسي، ولكن تتعقّد الأمور في ظل تعقيدات الحرب الباردة ويحاول المجرمون والضحايا معاً النجاة بحياتهم في أطول أزمة استيلاء في التاريخ.
• جيت ست آرابيا (قطر) من إخراج عبد الله العبد الله، وللمنتجون المنفذون: عبد الله العبد الله، باسل عويس. يقدّم العمل لمحة عن كواليس حياة الشخصيات الخليجية المؤثرة في عالم وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي وهم فاطمة المؤمن، آسيا فرّاج، عبد الله العبد الله، ريم الصانع، وروان بن حسين والذين يحاولون الموازنة بين حياتهم المُرفهة ومتطلبات أسرّهم وعادات وتقاليد مجتمعهم.
