Ashghal launches QR616m infrastructure project in Umm Slal Mohammed

Doha: As part of efforts to provide integrated infrastructure, advanced roads and utilities across Qatar, the Public Works Authority ‘Ashghal’ announced beginning of implementation of the first package of the Roads and Infrastructure Development Project in Umm Slal Mohammed, located at the west of Al Shamal Road. This phase of the project is with a total cost amounting to QR 616 million.

The project serves 623 plots of citizens’ subdivisions in Umm Slal Mohammed. Integrated infrastructure will be constructed with advanced services along with internal streets to improve streamlined traffic flow and linking with public utilities to be constructed in the area in future.

The project includes development and construction of a 36 km road network with provision of traffic safety elements such as street lighting systems and poles, signboards and road signages, besides provision of 4,310 parking spaces.

Within the scope of the project, a 54 km long surface and groundwater drainage network will be constructed and linked to the main surface water drainage network in order to protect the area from flooding during rainy season. Another 15.8 km treated water network will be constructed to serve future green areas, besides establishing a 10 km long potable water network. New drainage pipes will be installed and extended to connect with the main drainage network and the present system of using household septic tanks will be eliminated.

The project has plan to rely on local materials and manufacturers in most part of the project works. Thus, Qatari local sources will be relied upon to supply materials and elements such as gabbro, streetlight columns and lamps, signboards, sewage pipes, rainwater drainage pipes, asphalt layers, precast manholes, concrete and steel. The plan aims at using local components up to 85% of the project’s work, within Ashghal’s initiative to support local manufacturers and the Ta’heel initiative launched by Ashghal in 2017 in this regard.

Ashghal is keen to accelerate the implementation of development work and to reduce as much as possible the effects resulting from construction works that may cause inconvenience to the residents and visitors of the area. the department divided the project into four geographical areas, to be implemented in succession, and each phase takes one year to implement, with the aim of facilitating the implementation of works. It is planned that the implementation of all project works will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2024.

الدوحة: أعلنت هيئة الأشغال العامة /أشغال/ عن بدء تنفيذ أعمال الحزمة الأولى من مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في أم صلال محمد، والذي يقع غرب طريق الشمال، بتكلفة تبلغ حوالي 616 مليون ريال.

وأوضحت /أشغال/ أن هذا المشروع يأتي في إطار جهودها لتوفير بنية تحتية متكاملة وطرق متطورة ومرافق للخدمات في جميع أنحاء الدولة.

ويخدم هذا المشروع 623 قسيمة لأراضي المواطنين في منطقة أم صلال محمد، وسيتم من خلاله إنشاء بنية تحتية متكاملة توفر خدمات متطورة وشوارع داخلية من شأنها تعزيز انسيابية الحركة المرورية وتوفير الربط مع المرافق العامة التي سيتم إنشاؤها بالمنطقة مستقبلا.

ويتضمن المشروع تطوير وإنشاء شبكة طرق بطول 36 كيلومترا مع توفير عناصر السلامة المرورية من أنظمة وأعمدة إنارة للشوارع، ولوحات إرشادية وعلامات الطريق، إلى جانب توفير 4310 مواقف مخصصة للسيارات.

كما سيتم ضمن نطاق المشروع أيضا إنشاء شبكة صرف مياه سطحية وجوفية بطول 54 كيلومترا وربطها بشبكة صرف المياه السطحية الرئيسية بهدف حماية كامل المنطقة من فيضان المياه خلال موسم الأمطار، وإنشاء شبكة مياه معالجة بطول 15.8 كيلومتر لتخدم المناطق الخضراء المستقبلية، إلى جانب إنشاء شبكة مياه صالحة للشرب بطول 10 كيلومترات.

وسيتم إنشاء وتمديد أنابيب صرف صحي جديدة وربطها بشبكة الصرف الصحي الرئيسية بهدف تطوير المنطقة وإلغاء استخدام خزانات الصرف الخاصة بالمنازل.

ومن المقرر أن يتم الاعتماد على مواد ومصنعين محليين في أغلب أعمال المشروع، حيث سيتم الاعتماد على المصادر المحلية القطرية لتوريد مواد وعناصر مثل الجابرو وأعمدة ومصابيح إنارة الشوارع واللوحات الإرشادية وأنابيب الصرف الصحي وأنابيب تصريف مياه الأمطار وطبقات الأسفلت والمناهل مسبقة الصنع، بالإضافة إلى الخرسانة وحديد التسليح، بهدف الوصول إلى نسبة 85 بالمائة من المكون المحلي في أعمال المشروع، وذلك في سياق دعم هيئة الأشغال العامة للمصنعين المحليين ومبادرة /تأهيل/ التي أطلقتها الهيئة عام 2017.

وسيتم العمل على تسريع وتيرة تنفيذ أعمال التطوير، والتقليل قدر الإمكان من الآثار الناجمة عن أعمال الإنشاء والتي قد تسبب الإزعاج لساكني ومرتادي المنطقة وذلك عبر تقسيم المشروع إلى أربع مناطق جغرافية يتم العمل بها على التوالي ويستغرق تنفيذ كل مرحلة عاما واحدا، بهدف تسهيل تنفيذ الأعمال حيث إنه من المخطط أن يتم الانتهاء من تنفيذ كافة أعمال المشروع في الربع الرابع من عام 2024.
