Bloomberg: Qatari banks are attracting more investments

Doha: The American economic network Bloomberg said that Qatari banks are heading to achieve more growth, as they are expected to attract more cash flows and investments after the Gulf reconciliation and in light of the growing economic relations with Turkey. The network adds that with the end of the diplomatic row in the Gulf this month, Fitch Ratings for credit rating expects Qatari banks may benefit from larger flows.
Meanwhile, the challenges posed by low oil prices and the economic hardships caused by the Coronavirus pandemic are expected to accelerate a continuous wave of bank consolidation across the region.
In an interview conducted by the network with Mr. Joseph Abraham, CEO of Commercial Bank Group, the CEO said that Commercial Bank of Qatar is committed to its business in Turkey in the long term, as it looks to build its operations there, and focuses on building and improving return on property rights. Abraham expects stronger growth for the bank in the second half of 2021 with the availability of Coronavirus vaccines. The commercial bank performed better than analysts expected last year.
