Sidra Medicine Welcomes First Batch of Nursing Students from UCQ

Doha: Sidra Medicine has welcomed the first batch of undergraduate nursing students from the University of Calgary in Qatar (UCQ) for clinical placements at its hospital. 15 UCQ students will be working closely with the nursing teams at Sidra Medicine across pediatric specialties such as medical specialty, general surgery and neuroscience for a rotation period of 12 weeks.
Acting Chief Nursing Officer at Sidra Medicine Judy Dawson-Jones, said: “This is an exciting time for Sidra Medicine as we train the next generation of healthcare professionals. An important part of becoming a competent nurse is observation and performance in the clinical practice setting in order to apply classroom learning to real life scenarios.
“We are committed to ensuring that the UCQ students will have a comprehensive learning experience that will last a lifetime for their future successful careers. Nursing is one of the bridges that leads, supports and guides our patients and families to a healthier place.”
The students will be trained by nursing teams at Sidra Medicine where they will learn about evidence-based nursing practice through the application of the nursing process; developmental care in the pediatric population and incorporating family centered care. The students placement is part of UCQ’s Bachelor of Nursing Program under the “childbearing/childrearing families’ clinical course”.

الدوحة: استقبل /سدرة للطب/ الدفعة الأولى من طلاب التمريض من جامعة كالجاري في قطر /UCQ/ للحصول على تدريب سريري في المستشفى، حيث سيعمل 15 طالباً من هذه الجامعة عن كثب مع فرق التمريض في سدرة للطب، للتدرب لمدة 12 أسبوعا على عدد من تخصصات طب الأطفال مثل تخصص الرعاية السريرية والجراحة العامة والعلوم العصبية.
واعتبرت السيدة جودي داوسون جونز، رئيسة قسم التمريض بالإنابة في سدرة للطب التحاق طلاب التمريض هؤلاء بها للتدريب، فرصة رائعة لتدريب الجيل القادم من المتخصصين في الرعاية الصحية، ورأت وجود أهم صفتين يجب أن يتحلى بهما الممرض المختص، هما دقة الملاحظة وحسن الأداء في الممارسة السريرية، بحيث يطبق ما تعلمه على مقاعد الدراسة بشكل عملي على أرض الواقع.
وأكدت التزام سدرة للطب بتقديم تجربة تعليمية شاملة تستمر مدى الحياة لطلاب جامعة كالجاري في قطر لدعم مستقبلهم الوظيفي الناجح، سيما وأن التمريض هو أحد الجسور التي تقود وتدعم وتوجه المرضى والعائلات إلى مكان أكثر صحة.
وسيتم تدريب الطلاب من قبل فرق التمريض في سدرة للطب، حيث سيتعرفون على طرق ممارسة التمريض بالاستناد إلى الأدلة من خلال تطبيق عملية التمريض، والرعاية التنموية لدى الأطفال، ودمج الرعاية التي تركز على الأسرة علما أن التدريب الطلابي يعتبر جزءاً من برنامج بكالوريوس التمريض في جامعة كالجاري في قطر، ويندرج ضمن “مساق الإنجاب / تربية الأطفال”.
