Qatar Airways Expands Africa Network

Doha: Qatar Airways announced that it increased its flights to Cape Town, Casablanca, Durban, Johannesburg and Tunis to offer more flexible travel options and to rebuild its Africa network to 23 destinations and more than 100 weekly flights.

HE Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said: “We are proud to be the leading international carrier connecting Africa with Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and the U.S., offering more flexible travel options and a global network of flights that passengers, trade and business partners can rely on.

“Having launched three new destinations in Africa with Abuja, Accra and Luanda joining our network in 2020, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the region by adding new routes and steadily increasing frequencies across the continent.”

Al Baker said that “With the resumption of Alexandria and Cairo, we will operate over 100 weekly flights to and from Africa with connections via the Best Airport in the Middle East, Hamad International Airport, to our global network of over 120 destinations. As global travel recovers in 2021, we look forward to further expanding our network and offering more connections to and from Africa.”

In line with the airline’s steady rebuild of its Africa network, Qatar Airways plans to increase frequencies to the following destinations Alexandria (two weekly flights resumed 25 January), Cairo (up to 16 weekly flights resumed 18 January), Cape Town (increasing to five weekly flights from 1 February), Casablanca (increased to five weekly flights from 21 January), Durban (increasing to three weekly flights from 14 February), Johannesburg (increasing to 18 weekly flights from 26 January), Maputo (increasing to three weekly flights from 14 February), and Tunis (increased to five weekly flights from 24 January).

The national carrier of the State of Qatar continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 120 destinations with plans to increase to over 130 by the end of March 2021.

الدوحة: أعلنت الخطوط الجوية القطرية زيادة عدد رحلاتها إلى كيب تاون والدار البيضاء وديربان وجوهانسبورغ ومابوتو وتونس وذلك لتوفير أفضل خيارات السفر إلى مختلف الوجهات في إفريقيا، لإعادة بناء شبكة وجهاتها الإفريقية لتصل إلى 23 وجهة، وأكثر من 100 رحلة أسبوعيا.

وأعرب سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية عن سعادته بأن الخطوط الجوية القطرية تقدم خيارات السفر المُثلى بين إفريقيا ومنطقة آسيا والمحيط الهادئ وأوروبا والشرق الأوسط والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

وأوضح ، بعد قيام الخطوط الجوية القطرية في عام 2020 بإطلاق ثلاث وجهات جديدة في إفريقيا لتنضم إلى شبكة وجهات القطرية، وهي أبوجا وأكرا ولواندا سوف تستمر القطرية بالالتزام تجاه المنطقة، عن طريق إضافة مسارات جديدة وزيادة عدد الرحلات إلى القارة الإفريقية.

و قال ” مع استئناف الرحلات إلى الإسكندرية والقاهرة سيزداد عدد الرحلات من وإلى إفريقيا إلى أكثر من 100رحلة أسبوعياً، مع إمكانية مواصلة الرحلات عبر أفضل مطار في الشرق الأوسط، مطار حمد الدولي، إلى أكثر من 120 وجهة في مختلف أنحاء العالم”.

وذكرت الخطوط القطرية أنها ستستأنف رحلاتها إلى وجهات جديدة، وستزيد من عدد رحلاتها، حيث استأنفت رحلاتها إلى الإسكندرية الأمس 25 يناير بعدد رحلتين أسبوعياً، وستزيد عدد رحلاتها لثلاث وجهات وهي كيب تاون زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 5 رحلات أسبوعياً اعتباراً من 1 فبراير، وديربان زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 3 رحلات أسبوعياً اعتباراً من 14 فبراير، ومابوتو زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 3 رحلات أسبوعياً اعتباراً من 14 فبراير، وتم استئناف رحلاتها إلى القاهرة بعدد 16 رحلة أسبوعياً، منذ 18 يناير، والدار البيضاء تم زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 5 رحلات أسبوعياً منذ 21 يناير، وتونس تم زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 5 رحلات أسبوعياً منذ 24 يناير، وجوهانسبرغ تم زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى 18 رحلة أسبوعيا اعتباراً من 26 يناير.

وتواصل الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر إعادة بناء شبكة وجهاتها العالمية، حيث تسير رحلاتها الآن إلى 120 وجهة، وتعتزم زيادة عددها لتصل إلى 130 وجهة عالمياً بحلول نهاية شهر مارس 2021.
