1.7 million visitors will receive Microsoft services in Doha in 2022

Doha: The “CNN” website highlighted Qatar’s inauguration of the modern “Microsoft Azure” region, an area supported by Microsoft data centers that provide fast, reliable, and secure cloud services for enterprises, enabling them to save their data there.

The site indicated – in a report issued yesterday, Sunday – that the State of Qatar has become an example to follow, as it invests in the field of technology with the aim of strengthening the country’s economy, while working on crystallizing a sustainable society.

The report stated that the Smart Qatar Program is one of the most important pillars of Qatar Vision 2030, which is a five-year digital transformation initiative, launched in 2017, with an estimated value of $ 1.64 billion, in an effort to take advantage of digital technology to enhance all aspects of society, from transportation and logistics, to health care, the environment, and sports.

The integration of smart Qatar projects is essential to achieving the goal of a society capable of maintaining a high standard of living for all its citizens, especially in an era of unprecedented turmoil. The report added

Azure falls under the Microsoft Infrastructure-as-a-Service category, and it allows users to run complex applications on the company’s powerful servers instead of on-premises, ranging from virtual machines to advanced machine learning applications.

The Azure region provides the necessary infrastructure to realize the bold ambitions of the Smart Qatar Program, and the 2030 vision respectively, and smart healthcare platforms are set to provide instant global access to electronic medicine and remote diagnosis.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) estimates that the Microsoft cloud ecosystem will create 24,000 new jobs in Qatar by 2024.

In partnership with the Qatar Digital Government, the company will provide training to 3,000 government employees per year in the areas of cloud technology and artificial intelligence, as well as enhance the skills of 50,000 individuals in future technology over the next five years.

The success of this initiative contributes to making Vision 2030 a model for other countries to follow to overcome the crises caused by the emerging corona virus.

In 2022, when Doha hosts the FIFA World Cup, the evidence appears, with the 1.7 million visitors expected to come to Doha to enjoy a comprehensive range of Microsoft Azure services, from smart applications for public transportation, to digital access to healthcare services.

These visitors will witness the digital transformation of the state, after the State of Qatar has proven its ability to get out of the emerging Coronavirus crisis, and after the launch of the Azure region in 2021, there is no doubt that it will enjoy rapid performance and flexibility in preparation for the upcoming difficulties.

The report believes that the State of Qatar will not only be satisfied with what it has to achieve the National Vision 2030, but will also seek to define future paths.

The report notes that the Qatar National Vision is a bold investment program that seeks to develop four intertwined pillars that include the human, social, economic and environmental aspects, and it is exactly the kind of program that many are calling for in order to crystallize society after the pandemic.

وأشار الموقع – في تقرير له اليوم الأحد – إلى أن دولة قطر أصبحت مثالاً يُحتذى به، إذ إنّها تستثمر في مجال التكنولوجيا بهدف تعزيز اقتصاد البلاد، فيما تعمل على بلورة مجتمع مستدام.

وأوضح التقرير أن برنامج قطر الذكية يعد من أهم مرتكزات رؤية قطر 2030، وهو عبارة عن مبادرة للتحوّل الرقمي يمتد على خمس سنوات، وتم إطلاقه عام 2017، وقُدرت قيمته بـ1.64 مليار دولار أمريكي، في مسعى إلى الاستفادة من التكنولوجيا الرقمية لتعزيز جوانب المجتمع كافة، بدءاً بالمواصلات والخدمات اللوجستية، ووصولاً إلى الرعاية الصحية، والبيئة، والرياضة.

وأضاف: يُعد دمج مشاريع قطر الذكية أساسياً لتحقيق هدف مجتمع قادر على حفظ مستوى معيشي مرتفع لجميع مواطنيها، سيما في عصر يشهد اضطرابات غير مسبوقة. 

تندرج أزور ضمن فئة البنية التحتية كخدمة لدى مايكروسوفت، وتسمح للمستخدمين بتشغيل تطبيقات معقدة على خوادم الشركة القوية بدلاً من الأجهزة المحلية، بحيث تتراوح بين الأجهزة الافتراضية وتطبيقات التعلم الآلي المتطورة.

وتوفر منطقة أزور البنية التحتية الضرورية لتحقيق طموحات برنامج قطر الذكية الجريئة، ورؤية 2030 على التوالي، ومن المقرر أن توفر منصات الرعاية الصحية الذكية إمكانية الوصول العالمية الفورية إلى الطب الإلكتروني، والتشخيص عن بعد. 

وتقدّر مؤسسة البيانات الدولية (‎IDC) أنّ النظام البيئي لسحابة مايكروسوفت ستوفر 24 ألف وظيفة جديدة في قطر بحلول عام 2024. 

وبالشراكة مع حكومة قطر الرقمية، ستوفر الشركة التدريب لـ3,000 موظف حكومي في السنة في مجالي التكنولوجيا السحابية والذكاء الاصطناعي، فضلاً عن تعزيز مهارات 50 ألف فرد في التكنولوجيا المستقبلية على مدى السنوات الخمس المقبلة. 

ويساهم نجاح هذه المبادرة في جعل رؤية 2030 نموذجاً تحتذي به الدول الأخرى للخروج من الأزمات الناتجة عن فيروس كورونا المستجد.

ويظهر الدليل في عام 2022 حين تستضيف الدوحة كأس العالم لكرة القدم، حيث يحظى 1.7 مليون زائر يُتوقع حضورهم إلى الدوحة بمجموعة شاملة من الخدمات التي توفرها مايكروسوفت أزور، بدءاً بالتطبيقات الذكية لوسائل النقل العام، ووصولاً إلى إمكانية الوصول رقمياً إلى خدمات الرعاية الصحية.

سيشهد هؤلاء الزائرون على تحوّل الدولة رقمياً، بعدما أثبتت دولة قطر قدرتها على الخروج من أزمة فيروس كورونا المستجد، وبعد إطلاق منطقة أزور عام 2021، لا شك في أنّها ستتمتع بسرعة الأداء والمرونة استعداداً للصعوبات المقبلة. 

ويرى التقرير أن دولة قطر لن تكتفي بما تملكه لتحقيق الرؤية الوطنية 2030 وحسب، بل ستسعى أيضاً إلى تحديد مسارات المستقبل.

ويشير إلى أن رؤية قطر الوطنية يعد برنامج استثمار جريئا يسعى إلى تطوير أربع ركائز متداخلة تشمل الجانب الإنساني، والاجتماعي، والاقتصادي، والبيئي، وهو تماماً نوع البرنامج الذي يطالب الكثيرون باتباعه من أجل بلورة المجتمع بعد الجائحة.
