QC, QRCC Explore Qatari-Russian Cooperation Opportunities

Doha: Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted on Thursday a virtual introductory meeting in cooperation with the Qatari-Russian Center for Cooperation (QRCC), under the theme ‘Qatari-Russian Cooperation Opportunities’.

The webinar aimed at reviewing means of boosting commercial and economic ties between Qatar and Russia, as well as identifying the latest developments regarding the Qatari participation in SPIEF.

The event witnessed the participation of QC Board Member and Chair of Qatari-Russian Business Council Eng. Ali bin Abdullatif Al Misnad and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the QRCC HE Fahad bin Mohammed Al Attiyah. The webinar is also attended by many QC board members.

Addressing the event, Eng. Ali Al Misnad stressed the importance of holding the webinar in identifying the preparations related to Qatar’s participation in SPIEF as the guest country, noting that SPIEF is an international forum that has been held since 1997.

Underscoring the great importance of SPEIF, Al Misnad said the forum represents a genuine opportunity for participants to conclude agreements and deals and sign between major global economic and financial institutions, as well as discuss the key economic issues facing the world.

He expressed his hope that the webinar would help participants learn more about the Qatari participation in SPIEF, noting that during the Qatar Chamber’s participation in the last edition of SPIEF held in 2019 signed MOU with Roscongress Foundation, which is the organizer of the forum. The Chamber will participate in the next version of the forum within the pavilion of the State of Qatar, alongside several ministries, institutions, and economic and developmental bodies in the country.

QC Board Member also expressed his confidence that SPIEF will contribute to strengthening cooperation relations between the two friendly countries, especially between the Qatari private sector and its Russian counterpart. “SPIEF provides an important platform for identifying the attractive investment climate in Qatar and promoting the Qatari economy in general and private sector projects in particular, as well as exploring the investment opportunities available in Russia and discussing the possibility of establishing alliances and joint projects between Qatari and Russian businessmen,” he added.

In his opening remarks, Qatari-Russian Center for Cooperation’s Supervisory Board Chairman, HE Fahad bin Mohammed Al Attiyah emphasized that the SPIEF is the largest investment and economy-focused event of its kind in Eastern hemisphere. He also marked the significance of the State of Qatar being officially invited as Guest Country at SPIEF, an honour which enables Qatar to enhance bilateral investment and trade ties between the two nations, while also opening up considerable opportunities for Qatari companies to set up partnerships with Russian companies.

“The role of the Qatari-Russian Center for Cooperation (QRCC) is to bring together Qatari and Russian businessmen prior to SPIEF 2021 for discussions on deals, and to facilitate their investment and trade fields between them, to ensure tangible deals and agreements at SPIEF 2021 as well as successful bilateral cooperation”, he added.

QC Board Member Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani called for a wider participation of Qatari businesswomen at the forum to learn about investment opportunities available in Russia, stressing that Qatar is a robust and promising market for Russian businesswomen in numerous aspects of cooperation.

They highlighted details on the history and upcoming edition of SPIEF, the benefits for Qatar as a guest country, Qatar Chamber’s venue at the forum and the investment and trade opportunities available in Russia.

On her part, QRCC’s CEO Diana Charmadova said that SPIEF is an important Russian business event that has been held in St. Petersburg since 1997, noting that each year the number of participants exceeds 19 thousand people, who come from more than 145 countries. The SPIEF audience includes heads of major Russian and foreign companies, heads of states and political leaders, prime ministers, deputy prime ministers, and governors, she added.

Elaborating the benefits of the SPIEF’s guest country, Charmadova said this honorary position implies organizing business events as well as exhibitions and cultural events, in addition to the construction of a national pavilion for showcasing the country’s capabilities in the economy, industry, culture, and tourism noting that is expected that about 50 entities from Qatar will participated in the forum with the participation of more than 500 people. Qatari pavilion’s area is approximately 3900 m2 distributed in four zones for exhibiting and non-exhibiting entities.

الدوحة: استضافت غرفة قطر بالتعاون مع المركز القطري الروسي للتعاون ندوة افتراضية بعنوان “فرص التعاون القطري الروسي”.

تناولت الندوة ،التي تأتي في اطار مشاركة دولة قطر كـ(ضيف شرف) في منتدى سانت بطرسبورغ الاقتصادي الدولي في دورته الرابعة عشر والمزمع انعقاده خلال شهر يونيو المقبل، بحث سبل تعزيز علاقات التعاون القطري الروسي في المجالات الاقتصادية والتجارة والاستثمارية، إلى جانب اطلاع المشاركين على اخر التطورات فيما يخص مشاركة دولة قطر في المنتدى العالمي.

وخلال الندوة ، شدد المهندس على بن عبد اللطيف المسند عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة قطر ورئيس مجلس الاعمال القطري-الروسي، على أهمية مشاركة دولة قطر كضيف الشرف في منتدى سان بطرسبورغ الاقتصادي الدولي، والذي يعد حدثاً دولياً ينظم سنوياً منذ عام 1997، موضحاَ أن المنتدى يمثل فرصة حقيقية لإبرام الاتفاقيات والصفقات وتوقيع مذكرات التفاهم بين كبرى المؤسسات الاقتصادية والمالية العالمية، بالإضافة إلى ما يتضمنه من حلقات نقاش تتناول مختلف التوجهات الاقتصادية في العالم.

وأشار المسند خلال كلمته أمام المشاركين إلى أن غرفة قطر كانت قد وقّعت اتفاقية تعاون مع مؤسسة “روس كونغرس” وهي الجهة المنظمة للمنتدى، وذلك خلال مشاركتها في الدورة الماضية للمنتدى والتي عقدت في عام 2019، منوهاً بأن الغرفة سوف تشارك في الدورة المقبلة للمنتدى ضمن جناح دولة قطر والذي يضم عدة وزارات ومؤسسات وجهات اقتصادية وتنموية في الدولة.

كما أعرب عن ثقته في أن المنتدى سوف يسهم تعزيز علاقات التعاون بين البلدين وخصوصا التعاون بين القطاع الخاص القطري ونظيره الروسي، مؤكداً بأنه يوفر منصة هامة لاستعراض المناخ الاستثماري الجاذب في دولة قطر والترويج للاقتصاد القطري عموماً ومشروعات القطاع الخاص على وجه الخصوص،كما يوفر فرصة للاطلاع على الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة في روسيا .

بدوره، قال سعادة السفير فهد بن محمد العطية رئيس المجلس الاستشاري بالمركز القطري الروسي للتعاون، أن منتدى بطرسبورغ الاقتصادي الدولي يعتبر أكبر حدث من نوعه يركز على الاستثمار والاقتصاد في شرق الكرة الأرضية، مؤكدا على أهمية دعوة دولة قطر رسميًا كدولة ضيف في المنتدى مما يمكّن قطر من تعزيز العلاقات الاستثمارية والتجارية الثنائية مع روسيا ويسهم في فتح فرص كبيرة للشركات القطرية لإقامة شراكات مع مثيلاتها الروسية.

وشدد العطية على الدور الرائد الذي يلعبه المركز القطري الروسي للتعاون في الجمع بين رجال الأعمال القطريين والروس قبل المنتدى لإجراء مناقشات حول الصفقات، وتسهيل مجالات الاستثمار والتجارة بينهما، لضمان ابرام العديد من الصفقات والاتفاقيات الناجحة خلال أيام المنتدى، وكذلك تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين الجانبين.

من جانبها دعت السيدة ابتهاج الاحمداني عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة قطر لمشاركة سيدات الاعمال القطريات في أعمال المنتدى، وإتاحة الفرصة للتعريف على الفرص الاستثمارية المتاحة في المجالات المشتركة، منوهةً بان قطر تعتبر سوق واعد وقوي لسيدات الاعمال الروسيات وهناك مجالات عديدة للتعاون بين الجانبين.

واستعرض الجانب الروسي العديد من العروض التقديمية التي تناولت التحضيرات الخاصة لمنتدى بطرسبورغ الاقتصادي الدولي والمزايا التي تحققها قطر كضيفة شرف ومشاركة غرفة قطر في المنتدى، بالإضافة الى فرص الأعمال والاستثمار المتاحة في روسيا.

وقدمت السيدة “ديانا شارمادوفا” الرئيس التنفيذي للمركز القطري الروسي للتعاون نبذة عن المنتدى والذي يتم تنظيمه كل عام منذ 1997 ويحظى بمشاركة اكثر من 19 ألف مشارك من أكثر من 145 دولة مختلفة ويجمع نخبة من الرؤساء التنفيذيين للشركات الكبرى الروسية والدولية، ورؤساء الدول، والزعماء السياسيين، ورؤساء الوزراء، ونواب الوزراء،والمحافظين.

وعن المزايا التي تتمتع بها الدولة ضيفة الشرف، قالت شارمادوفا أنها تشمل تنظيم الأحداث التجارية وكذلك المعارض والفعاليات الثقافية، بالإضافة إلى إنشاء جناح وطني لعرض قدرات الدولة في الاقتصاد والصناعة والثقافة والسياحة، منوهةً بأن من المتوقع ان تشارك 50 جهة من قطر بعدد مشاركين يتجاوز 500 شخص وأن مساحة الجناح القطري تبلغ حوالي 3900 متر مربع موزعة على أربع مناطق.
