WOQOD Achieves QR707 Million in Net Profit in 2020

Doha: Qatar Fuel Company (WOQOD) achieved a net profit amounted to QR 707 million for the fiscal year 2020, compared to an amount of QR 1.216 million achieved in 2019, representing a decrease rate of 42%.

Earning by share for the period amounted to QR 0.71, compared to QR 1.22 for the past year, while Shareholders Equity decreased by about 1.3% to reach about 8.6 billion riyals compared to 8.7 billion riyals for 2019.

The company said in a statement that the decline in net profit and earnings per share was attributed to the slowdown caused by the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, which the company managed to reduce its negative impacts by taking several proactive steps and initiatives to ensure continuity of its business under these critical circumstances, in addition to the continuation of the companys efforts to implement its policy of increasing efficiency and rationalizing expenditures, which had a significant impact on reducing the decline in profits achieved compared to 2019.

CEO and Managing Director Saad Rashid Al Muhannadi stated that there was an upward trend in results for the third and fourth quarters of 2020 driven by increased fuel sales and the market recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic impacts.

In terms of the company’s operations, Al Muhannadi explained that year 2020 witnessed a decrease in total sales of petroleum products by about 21%, compared to the same period in 2019, due to supply and demand factors and the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic, where diesel sales decreased by 9%, Super gasoline by 10%, premium gasoline by 9%, jet fuel by -33%, bitumen by 60%, LPG by 3%, and oil retail sales across gas stations decreased by 2% compared to the year 2019 results. On the other hand, sales of bunker fuel and natural gas increased by 7% and 13%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2019, while non-oil retail sales revenues, including Sidra sales, increased by 11%, due to the opening of several new petrol stations. In this regard, Al Muhannadi pointed out that the company has supported the non-oil retail services sector by marketing its automotive service products (oils and greases) through tie-up with international manufacturers of these products.

الدوحة: أعلنت شركة قطر للوقود /وقود/ نتائجها المالية للعام المالي 2020، حيث حققت أرباحا صافية (بعد استبعاد حقوق الأقلية) بلغت 707 ملايين ريال، متراجعة بنسبة 42 بالمائة مقارنة مع عام 2019، الذي بلغت فيه أرباح الشركة مليارا و220 مليون ريال.

ووفقا لبيان للشركة، يوم الأمس، فقد بلغ العائد على السهم 0.71 ريال، مقارنة بـ 1.22 ريال للعام الماضي، بينما انخفضت حقوق الملكية بنسبة 1.3% لتصل إلى حوالي 8.6 مليار ريال مقارنة بحوالي 8.7 مليار ريال للعام 2019.

وأوضح البيان أن الانخفاض في الأرباح الصافية والعائد على السهم يرجع إلى التباطؤ الناجم عن انتشار جائحة كورونا /كوفيد – 19/، والتي قامت الشركة بالحد من تأثيراتها السالبة باتخاذ عدة خطوات ومبادرات استباقية لضمان استمرارية العمل في ظل تلك الظروف الحرجة، كما استمرت الشركة في تطبيق سياستها المعتمدة في زيادة الفعالية وترشيد النفقات، مما كان له أثر كبير في الحد من انخفاض الأرباح المحققة مقارنة بالعام 2019.

وفيما يختص بعمليات الشركة، أوضح السيد سعد راشد المهندي الرئيس التنفيذي والعضو المنتدب بأن العام 2020 شهد انخفاضا في المبيعات الاجمالية للمنتجات البترولية بواقع حوالي 21%، مقارنة بنفس الفترة من العام 2019، ويعزى ذلك لعوامل العرض والطلب وللتأثيرات السلبية لجائحة كورونا “كوفيد-19″، حيث انخفضت مبيعات الديزل بواقع 9%، والجازولين السوبر بواقع 10%، والجازولين الممتاز بواقع 9%، ووقود الطائرات بواقع 33%، والبيتومين بنسبة 60%، والبوتاجاز بنسبة 3% مقارنة بالفترة الموازية من العام 2019.

وأما مبيعات التجزئة البترولية عبر محطات الوقود فقد انخفضت بواقع 2% مقارنة بنفس الفترة من عام 2019.

من ناحية أخرى، زادت مبيعات وقود السفن والغاز الطبيعي بنسبة 7% و13% على التوالي، مقارنة بنفس الفترة من العام 2019، بينما حققت عائدات مبيعات التجزئة غير البترولية، شاملة مبيعات سدرة، زيادة بواقع 11%، ويرجع سبب الزيادة لافتتاح العديد من محطات الوقود الجديدة.

وأشار المهندي إلى أن الشركة قامت بدعم قطاع خدمات التجزئة غير البترولية عن طريق تسويق منتجاتها في مجال خدمة السيارات (الزيوت والشحوم) عبر الارتباط مع الشركات العالمية المصنعة لتلك المنتجات.
