Qatar Airways resumes flights to Jeddah tomorrow

Doha: H.E. Akbar Al Baker, CEO of Qatar Airways Group, expressed his happiness with the positive decisions made during the Gulf Summit, which saw the announcement of the reopening of all borders with Qatar. “We welcome our passengers from Saudi Arabia on Qatar Airways, the world’s best airline,” he said on the national carrier’s Twitter account. The airline resumed flights to Riyadh yesterday at a daily rate. The airline is preparing to resume flights to Jeddah tomorrow on flight QR1188 and to Dammam from Next Saturday on flight QR1150, which will depart from Hamad International Airport.

Qatar Airways said all flights to Saudi Arabia will be operated exclusively on wide-body aircraft including Boeing 300-777, Boeing 8-787 and Airbus A350.

It looks forward to resuming close relations with its partners in the trade and shipping sectors in Saudi Arabia as well as the kingdom’s major airports.

Hamad International Airport received the first Saudi Arabian Airlines plane yesterday, and Qatar Airways posted through its official Twitter account pictures of the Saudi plane and part of the reception greeting for those coming from the Kingdom. Qatar Airways recently announced an increase in the number of flights to many cities and countries around the world, including Arab countries, as it continues to operate daily flights to many destinations around the world.

With travel restrictions eased, the airline has seen a marked increase in airline bookings, as passengers are confident in the carrier, which helped millions of overseas travellers return home during the Covid-19 crisis at a time when many other airlines have suspended operations.

It has also launched strategic partnership agreements with a number of international airlines to facilitate their business with code share agreements.

Productive Efforts

During the corona pandemic, Qatar Airways helped more than 3.1 million passengers return home and worked closely with governments and companies around the world to operate more than 470 unscheduled flights and operate additional flights. The carrier also supported workers in sectors such as seafarers, returning more than 150,000 maritime workers to their countries during the pandemic. Qatar Airways operated flights to a number of destinations that were not previously part of its global network, such as Antananarivo, Bogotá, Bridgetown, Havana, Juba, Laayoune, Lomé, Mauon, Ouagadougou, Port of Spain and Port Moresby.

Qatar Airways has gained unique experience in ensuring safety and flexibility in passenger transport during these exceptional times, as the largest airline to fly continuously throughout the pandemic. Qatar Airways has adopted the highest standards of hygiene and safety on board its aircraft, including the provision of personal protective equipment for hospitality crews, a personal protective kit and a face protector for passengers in all classes.

الدوحة:  أعرب سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية، عن سعادته بالقرارات الإيجابية التي صدرت خلال القمة الخليجية والتي شهدت الإعلان عن إعادة فتح جميع الحدود مع دولة قطر. وقال عبر حساب الناقلة الوطنية على تويتر: نرحب بمسافرينا من المملكة العربية السعودية على متن رحلات القطرية الحائزة لقب أفضل شركة طيران في العالم. واستأنفت الناقلة أمس رحلاتها إلى الرياض بمعدل رحلة يوميًا. وتستعد الناقلة لاستئناف رحلاتها إلى جدة غدًا على متن الرحلة رقم QR1188، وإلى الدمَّام اعتبارًا من السبت المقبل على متن الرحلة رقم QR1150 التي ستنطلق من مطار حمد الدولي.

وأشارت القطرية إلى أنه سيتم تسيير جميع رحلاتها إلى السعودية بشكل حصري على متن طائرات عريضة الهيكل بما فيها طائراتها من طراز بوينج 300-777 وبوينج 8-787 وإيرباص A350.

وأعربت عن تطلعها لاستئناف علاقاتها الوطيدة مع شركائها في قطاعي التجارة والشحن في السعودية إلى جانب المطارات الرئيسية في المملكة.

هذا واستقبل مطار حمد الدولي أول طائرة تابعة للخطوط الجوية السعودية وذلك أول أمس، وقد نشرت الخطوط القطرية عبر حسابها الرسمي بموقع تويتر صورًا للطائرة السعودية وجانبًا من حفاوة الاستقبال للقادمين من المملكة.

وكانت القطرية قد أعلنت مؤخرًا عن زيادة عدد رحلاتها إلى العديد من مدن ودول العالم بما فيها دول عربية مع استمرارها في تشغيل رحلاتها اليومية إلى العديد من الوجهات حول العالم.

ومع تخفيف القيود المفروضة على السفر، شهدت الناقلة ارتفاعًا ملحوظًا في حجوزات الطيران، وذلك لثقة المسافرين بالناقلة والتي ساعدت ملايين المسافرين في الخارج للعودة إلى بلدانهم خلال أزمة «كوفيد -19» في وقت علّقت فيه العديد من شركات الطيران الأخرى عملياتها.

كما أطلقت اتفاقيات شراكة إستراتيجية مع عدد من شركات الخطوط الجوية العالمية لتسهيل أعمالها باتفاقيات «الرمز المشترك».

جهود مثمرة

وخلال فترة انتشار جائحة كورونا، ساعدت القطرية ما يزيد على 3.1 مليون مسافر على العودة إلى بلادهم، وعملت عن كثب مع الحكومات والشركات في مختلف أنحاء العالم لتشغيل ما يزيد على 470 رحلة غير مُجدولة وتشغيل رحلات إضافية. كما دعمت الناقلة العاملين في قطاعات معينة مثل قطاع البحّارة، حيث عادت بأكثر من 150 ألف عامل في قطاع الملاحة البحرية إلى بلدانهم خلال الجائحة. وسيّرت الخطوط القطرية رحلاتها إلى عدد من الوجهات التي لم تكن سابقًا جزءًا من شبكة وجهاتها العالمية، مثل أنتاناناريفو، وبوغوتا، وبريدجتاون، وهافانا، وجوبا، ومدينة العيون، ولومي، وماون، وواغادوغو، وبورت أوف سبين، وبورت مورسبي.

واكتسبت الخطوط القطرية خبرة فريدة في ضمان السلامة والمرونة في نقل المسافرين خلال هذه الأوقات الاستثنائية، وذلك باعتبارها أكبر شركة طيران حلقت باستمرار طوال فترة الجائحة. وتبنت القطرية أعلى معايير النظافة والسلامة على متن طائراتها، بما في ذلك توفير معدات الحماية الشخصية لطاقم الضيافة، وحقيبة مستلزمات الحماية الشخصية وواقي الوجه للمُسافرين على جميع درجات السفر.
