Katara Hospitality Announce Plans to Establish About 60 Hotels by 2030

Doha: HE Chairman of Katara Hospitality Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor Al-Thani, said that the company has a huge plan to establish nearly 60 hotels by 2030.

HE explained that Katara Hospitality now has 42 hotels and more than 25 thousand rooms, while in 2000 it had about 4000 rooms, considering that a huge progressive rate in the company’s development, and stressing that it will never stop expanding.

This came in a speech by HE Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabr Al- Thani, at the celebration of / Katara Hospitality / on Wednesday, formerly known as Qatar National Hotels, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment in 1970. Ever since, it has adopted a pioneering approach to develop the hospitality scene in the country, noting that the company was renamed in 2012 as / Katara Hospitality / to reflect its heritage and international expansion plans, with the aim of developing a group of unique properties that celebrate hospitality icons around the world.

HE reviewed, in his speech, the development of the company since its inception, when it started, it had only one hotel, later it developed in terms of the number of different hotels within Qatar, and to quickly assume a major role with many distinctive hotels under its management or assets.

He expressed pride that Katara Hospitality is number one in the number of rooms in the Middle East and North Africa region, and number 25 in the world, as well as number one in terms of revenue in the Middle East and North Africa, and number 14 in the world.

“We have a close team which is very important in our success. We now have very good Qatari candidates who can indeed be leaders in the future,” HE added, noting that the capitalist side is not the most important today, stressing in this context that investment cannot be made without experience, in addition to the appropriate timing of investment and its great importance for any investor.

He noted that one of the most important elements in Qatar National Vision 2030 is the tourism aspect, which the state focuses on, adding that Katara Hospitality adopts the strategy on how to improve this industry.

It is noteworthy that the company has witnessed a series of first steps, over the years, since its inception to manage the Gulf Hotel – the Gulf Marriott Hotel in Doha now – which is the first five-star hotel in the country, and with the opening of the Sheraton Doha Resort and the Convention Hotel in 1982, the company introduced the first Qatari hotel to carry an international brand.

وأوضح سعادته ، أن لدى شركة /كتارا للضيافة/ الآن 42 فندقا ، وما يزيد عن 25 ألف غرفة ، في حين كان لديها عام 2000 حوالي 4000 غرفة ، معتبرا ذلك نسبة تصاعدية ضخمة في مسيرة تطور الشركة ، التي أكد أنها سوف لن تتوقف أبدا عن التوسع .

جاء ذلك في كلمة لسعادة الشيخ نواف بن جاسم بن جبر آل ثاني ، في احتفال / كتارا للضيافة / اليوم ، والمعروفة سابقًا باسم قطر الوطنية للفنادق ، بمناسبة مرور 50 عاما على تأسيسها في عام 1970 ، حيث تبنت منذ ذلك الحين نهجا رائدا لتطوير مشهد الضيافة بالدولة ، علما أنه تم إعادة تسمية الشركة في عام 2012 باسم /كتارا للضيافة / لتعكس تراثها وخطط التوسع الدولية، وبهدف تطوير مجموعة من العقارات الفريدة التي تحتفل برموز الضيافة في جميع أنحاء العالم.

واستعرض سعادته في كلمته تطور الشركة منذ تأسيسها ، عندما بدأت كان لديها فندق واحد فقط ، لتتطور منذ ذلك الوقت من حيث عدد الفنادق المختلفة بداخل قطر ، ولتضطلع في وقت سريع بدور أساسي مع العديد من الفنادق المميزة تحت إدارتها أو أصولها.

وأعرب عن الفخر بأن /كتارا للضيافة/ هي رقم واحد في عدد الغرف في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا ، ورقم 25 عالميا ، كما أنها من حيث الإيرادات رقم واحد أيضا في الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا ، والرقم 14 على مستوى العالم .

وأضاف سعادته قائلا ” إنه لأمر مهم لنجاحنا هذا العنصر المتمثل في أن نكون فريقًا متقارب جدا .. لدينا الآن مرشحون قطريون جيدون للغاية ويمكنهم بالفعل أن يكونوا قادة في المستقبل” ، لافتا إلى أن الجانب الرأسمالي ليس هو الأكثر أهمية اليوم ، مؤكدا في هذا السياق أنه بدون الخبرة لا يمكن الاستثمار ، بالإضافة إلى التوقيت المناسب للاستثمار وأهميته الكبيرة لأي مستثمر.

ونوه أن أحد أهم العناصر في رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 ، هو الجانب السياحي ، الذي تركز عليه الدولة ، وقال إن شركة / كتارا للضيافة / تبني استراتيجيتها حول كيفية تحسين هذه الصناعة.

يشار إلى أن رحلة الشركة شهدت على مر السنين ، سلسلة من الخطوات الأولى منذ إنشائها لإدارة فندق الخليج – فندق ماريوت الخليج بالدوحة الآن – وهو أول فندق من فئة الخمس نجوم في البلاد ، كما أنه مع افتتاح منتجع شيراتون الدوحة وفندق المؤتمرات عام 1982 ، قدمت الشركة أول فندق قطري يحمل علامة تجارية دولية.

وتضم محفظة /كتارا للضيافة/ مجموعة فريدة من الصروح المتألقة في مواقع مرموقة مميزة في دولة قطر، وخارجها ، في وقت وصلت فيه إلى مستويات عظمى من التدفق النقدي الذي تجنيه أصولها ، واستثمرت بحكمة لضمان استمرار هذه الأصول في تلبية متطلبات سوق تنافسية للغاية .
