Qatar Airways announces daily flights to Montreal

Doha: Qatar Airways announced it will begin incrementally increasing flights to Montreal from 16 January 2021 and operate daily frequencies by 25 February 2021, up from the previously scheduled four weekly frequencies. The Montreal service is operated by Qatar Airways’ state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900 featuring 36 seats in the award-winning Qsuite Business Class and 247 seats in Economy Class.
HE Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to increase our services to Montreal, further enhancing connectivity for our Canadian customers, while offering our passengers traveling to and from North America seamless access to more than 75 destinations in Africa, Asia, India and the Middle East via our multiple award winning hub, Hamad International Airport.
His Excellency added: “We remain committed to serving our customers in Canada and have worked hard throughout the pandemic to ensure we can operate as many flights as possible, in line with the directions of the Canadian government. From operating special charter services to a number of commercial flights, we are delighted to now offer a strong schedule of services, complemented by our recently announced partnership with Air Canada.”
HE Ambassador of Canada to Qatar Stefanie McCollum, said: “I am thrilled by these recent developments and the expanded connectivity to Canada. These additional flights will give travelers more opportunities to discover Canada and all that it has to offer. Our high quality education and safe cities are attractive to international students, and now their parents will have more options to visit and explore our beautiful and welcoming country. It will now be easier for those looking to expand their business or investment in Canada to connect via these flights, and we hope they too will take advantage of the amazing tourism options that await them.”
This news comes on the heels of the announcement of Qatar Airways’ recent codeshare agreement with Air Canada, applicable to flights between Toronto and Doha. The agreement will enable both airlines’ passengers to enjoy seamless, one-stop connections to and from Toronto via the Best Airport in the Middle East, Hamad International Airport and onwards to more than 75 destinations in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. This is just one way Qatar Airways is reinforcing its commitment to Canadian passengers and travel trade and boosting Canada’s global connectivity to support the recovery of tourism and trade.
Qatar Airways first began flights to Canada in June 2011 with three weekly flights to Montreal that expanded to four weekly in Dec. 2018.
The national carrier of the State of Qatar continues to rebuild its network, which currently stands at over 100 destinations and planned to increase to 129 by the end of March 2021.

الدوحة: أعلنت الخطوط الجوية القطرية، أنها ستبدأ تدريجيا بزيادة عدد رحلاتها الجوية إلى مونتريال اعتبارا من 16 يناير 2021، وأنها ستقوم بتسيير سبع رحلات أسبوعيا بحلول 25 فبراير 2021، وذلك بعد الرحلات الأسبوعية الأربع التي كانت مجدولة سابقا.
وسيتم تسيير الرحلات إلى مونتريال على متن طائرات الخطوط الجوية القطرية الحديثة من طراز إيرباص A350-900 والتي تضم 36 مقعدا على درجة رجال الأعمال التي تمتاز بمقاعد كيوسويت الحائزة على جوائز عالمية، و247 مقعدا على الدرجة السياحية.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر، الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية في تصريح له، إن زيادة عدد الرحلات إلى مونتريال، يأتي من أجل تعزيز إمكانية التواصل مع عملائنا في كندا، ونوفر في ذات الوقت للمسافرين من وإلى أمريكا الشمالية إمكانية وصول سلسة إلى أكثر من 75 وجهة في إفريقيا وآسيا والهند والشرق الأوسط عبر مقر عملياتنا الحائز على جوائز عالمية، مطار حمد الدولي.
وأضاف:” سنواصل التزامنا بخدمة عملائنا في كندا، حيث كنا قد عملنا جاهدين طوال فترة انتشار جائحة كورونا /كوفيد -19/ لنضمن تسيير أكبر عدد ممكن من الرحلات الجوية إلى كندا، بما يتماشى مع توجيهات الحكومة الكندية. ويسرنا الآن تشغيل جدول رحلات قوي إلى كندا، بما في ذلك تشغيل رحلات جوية غير مجدولة وعدد من الرحلات التجارية، إلى جانب شراكتنا التي تم الإعلان عنها مؤخرا مع طيران كندا”.
وقالت سعادة السيدة ستيفاني مالكوم سفيرة كندا لدى الدولة “نشعر بغاية السعادة لهذه التطورات الأخيرة، والتي من شأنها تعزيز الوصول إلى كندا، إذ ستزيد هذه الرحلات الإضافية من إمكانية المسافرين لاستكشاف كندا وكل ما يمكن أن تقدمه لهم البلاد من الفرص، كما يعد تعليمنا عالي الجودة ومدننا الآمنة عوامل جذب للطلاب الدوليين، وسيتسنى لذوي هؤلاء الطلاب الآن، الفرصة لزيارتنا واستكشاف بلادنا الجميلة والمضيافة. وسوف يصبح من الأسهل على أولئك الذين يتطلعون إلى توسيع أعمالهم التجارية أو استثماراتهم في كندا الوصول إلى بلادنا عبر هذه الرحلات الجوية، ونأمل في ذات الوقت أن يستفيدوا من الخيارات السياحية المذهلة التي تنتظرهم في كندا”.
وتأتي هذه الأنباء في أعقاب الإعلان عن اتفاقية الرمز المشترك التي أبرمتها الخطوط الجوية القطرية مؤخرا مع طيران كندا، والتي سيتم تطبيقها على الرحلات الجوية بين تورنتو والدوحة اعتبارا من الخامس عشر من ديسمبر///////////.
وسوف تمكن هذه الاتفاقية ركاب الناقلتين القطرية والكندية على حد سواء من الاستمتاع بإمكانية الوصول بشكل يسير وسلس من وإلى تورنتو دون توقف عبر أفضل مطار في الشرق الأوسط، مطار حمد الدولي، مع إمكانية السفر إلى أكثر من 75 وجهة في إفريقيا وآسيا والشرق الأوسط.
وكانت الخطوط الجوية القطرية قد بدأت رحلاتها إلى كندا في يونيو 2011 مع ثلاث رحلات أسبوعيا إلى مونتريال، وزادت لتصل إلى أربع رحلات أسبوعيا في ديسمبر 2018.
وتستمر الناقلة الوطنية لدولة قطر في إعادة بناء شبكة وجهاتها العالمية إلى أكثر من 100 وجهة حاليا، لتصل بحلول نهاية شهر مارس إلى 129 وجهة عالمية.
