Mahaseel Festival Launches in its Fifth Edition in Katara

Doha: The fifth edition of Mahaseel festival, organized by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in cooperation with the Ministry of municipality and Environment (MME), was launched on Wednesday and will continue until Jan. 2.

The inauguration was attended by a number of country ambassadors, representatives of diplomatic missions to the State of Qatar, officials of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the Cultural Village Public Corporation, in addition to owners of Qatari farms and representatives of the participating national companies and a number of Katara visitors.

Mahaseel Festival provides an excellent platform to katara’s visitors, as it displays the finest crops and fresh Qatari agricultural products from national farms, such as vegetables, fruits, milk and cheese, in addition to meat, poultry, birds, honey and natural juices, as well as roses, flower nurseries and ornamental plants for home gardens.

On this occasion, General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al -Sulaiti affirmed that the inauguration of the fifth edition of the Mahaseel Festival comes after the series of successes achieved by the festival over its previous editions, expressing his happiness that the festival offers a marketing experience in a an attractive place visited by the citizens and residents from different nationalities.

He pointed out that the festival is witnessing a remarkable growth in terms of the participation by farmers and local companies, and this is one of the fruits of the continuous support and encouragement provided by Katara to farmers to market their products, explaining that Katara provided farmers with a platform to exchange experiences and contribute in the development of local agricultural production. Besides Qatar Livestock Association / Anaam / which contributes to the development and sustainability in this vital economic sector in order to reach self-sufficiency and support food security.

For his part, Director of Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Youssef Al-Khulaifi, said that this participation is the fifth in the partnership between the Ministry of Municipality and Environment and the Cultural Village Foundation / Katara /, pointing to the festival is displaying various local products, and developing annually the matter which is reflected on the increasing number of the participants in Mahaseel festival.

The fifth edition of the Mahaseel Festival is characterized by the participation of / 45 / representatives of many national companies specialized in food production, farms, apiaries and Qatari nurseries, including / 28 / local farms and / 9 / national companies specialized in producing beef and lamb meat, eggs, poultry, milk and diaries. In addition to the participation of the flowers, roses and ornamental plants sector, which is represented by / 8 / nurseries, where the participants compete in marketing methods, display methods and packaging.

On its first day, the festival witnessed a large number of visitors, as the organizing committee of the festival seeks to provide many options for shoppers, including fresh vegetables, dates and food products.

Katara is committed to the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus (Covid-19 /) through the social distancing and EHTERAZ application upon entry, as well as providing sterilizers and masks.

It is noteworthy that the festival will be opens for the public and shoppers daily from 9 am to 9 pm, until Jan. 2. while the Mahaseel market will continue after that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays every week from 9 am to 9 pm, until the end of March 2021.

الدوحة: انطلقت يوم الأمس فعاليات النسخة الخامسة من مهرجان محاصيل الذي تنظمه المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ في الجهة الجنوبية لكتارا بالتعاون مع وزارة البلدية والبيئة ، ويستمر حتى الثاني من يناير المقبل.

حضر افتتاح المهرجان عدد من سفراء الدول وممثلي البعثات الدبلوماسية لدى دولة قطر، ومسؤولين في وزارة البلدية والبيئة، والمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي ، بالإضافة إلى أصحاب المزارع القطرية وممثلي الشركات الوطنية المشاركة وجمع غفير من زوار كتارا.

ويوفر مهرجان محاصيل لزائري /كتارا/ منصة تسويقية مثالية تعرض فيها أجود المحاصيل والمنتجات الزراعية القطرية الطازجة من خلال المزارع الوطنية مثل الخضار والفاكهة والحليب والألبان والأجبان، بالإضافة إلى لحوم الأغنام والدواجن والطيور والعسل والعصائر الطبيعية، علاوة على الورود ومشاتل الزهور ونباتات الزينة الخاصة بالحدائق المنزلية.

وبهذه المناسبة، أكد الدكتور خالد بن إبراهيم السليطي المدير العام للمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، أن تدشين النسخة الخامسة لمهرجان محاصيل يأتي اليوم بعد سلسلة من النجاحات التي حققها المهرجان على مدى دوراته السابقة ، معربا عن سعادته بأن المهرجان يقدم تجربة تسويقية مثالية في مكان حيوي جاذب يتوافد إليه زوار من المواطنين والمقيمين من مختلف الجنسيات .

وأشار إلى أن المهرجان يشهد تناميا لافتا من حيث حجم المشاركة من قبل المزارع والشركات المحلية، وهذا يعتبر أحد ثمار الدعم المستمر والتشجيع المتواصل الذي تقدمه كتارا للمزارعين لتسويق منتجاتهم، موضحا أن كتارا وفرت للمزارعين ملتقى لتبادل الخبرات ليسهم في تطوير الانتاج الزراعي المحلي، بالإضافة إلى مقر للجمعية القطرية للثروة الحيوانية /أنعام/ للمساهمة في التنمية وتحقيق الاستدامة في هذا القطاع الاقتصادي الحيوي من أجل الوصول للاكتفاء الذاتي ودعم الأمن الغذائي .

من جهته أوضح السيد يوسف الخليفي مدير الشؤون الزراعية بوزارة البلدية والبيئة ، أن هذه المشاركة هي الخامسة بالشراكة بين وزارة البلدية والبيئة والمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ ، لافتا إلى حرص المهرجان على عرض المنتجات المحلية المتنوعة، وتطوره من عام إلى عام وانعكاسه على زيادة عدد العارضين في مهرجان محاصيل.

وتتميز النسخة الخامسة لمهرجان محاصيل بمشاركة /45 / جناحا تمثل العديد من الشركات الوطنية المتخصصة في الانتاج الغذائي ، والمزارع والمناحل والمشاتل القطرية من بينها /28 / مزرعة محلية و/9 / شركات وطنية متخصصة في إنتاج لحوم الأغنام والأبقار والعجول والبيض والدواجن والحليب ومشتقاته، إلى جانب مشاركة قطاع الزهور والورود ونباتات الزينة الذي تمثله /8 / مشاتل ، حيث يتنافس المشاركون في الأساليب التسويقية وطرق العرض والتغليف.

وشهد المهرجان في يومه الأول، ومنذ الساعات الأولى من افتتاحه، توافد أعداد كبيرة من الزوار، حيث تسعى اللجنة المنظمة للمهرجان من توفير خيارات عديدة أمام المتسوقين، من الخضروات الطازجة والتمور والمنتجات الغذائية .

وتحرص كتارا على الالتزام بالإجراءات الاحترازية المتبعة في الدولة للوقاية من انتشار فيروس كورونا / كوفيد-19 / وذلك بالتباعد الاجتماعي وضرورة وجود تطبيق احتراز عند الدخول ، فضلا عن توفير المعقمات و الكمامات.

يشار إلى أن مهرجان محاصيل يفتح ابوابه للجمهور والمتسوقين يوميا من الساعة التاسعة صباحا وحتى التاسعة مساء، وذلك حتى الثاني من يناير المقبل ، ليتواصل بعد ذلك ، سوق محاصيل أيام الخميس والجمعة والسبت من كل أسبوع حتى نهاية مارس 2021 ، وذلك بين الساعة التاسعة صباحا وحتى التاسعة مساء أيضا.
