Qatar Foreign Merchandise Trade Surplus QR 7.0 Billion in October

Doha: The Planning and Statistics Authority has released preliminary figures of the value of exports of domestic goods, re-exports and imports for October 2020.

In its report the Planning and Statistics Authority said that in October 2020, the total exports of goods (including exports of goods of domestic origin and re-exports) amounted to around QR15.3 billion, showing a decrease of 23.5 percent compared to Oct. 2019, and increased of 14.1 percent compared to Sept. 2020.

On other hand, the imports of goods in Oct. 2020 amounted to around QR8.3 billion, showing a decrease of 1.0 percent over October 2019. However, on a month on month (M-o-M) basis the imports increase by 18.3 percent compared to Sept. 2020.

In October 2020, the foreign merchandise trade balance, which represents the difference between total exports and imports, showed a surplus of QR 7.0 billion almost, i.e. a decrease of about QR 4.6 billion or 39.6 percent compared to Oct. 2019, And increased by nearly QR 0.6 billion or 9.5 percent compared to September 2020.

The year on year (October 2020 to October 2019) decrease in total exports was mainly due to lower exports of Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons (LNG, condensates, propane, butane, etc.) reaching QR 9.7 billion approximately in Oct. 2020, i.e. a decrease of 18.1 percent, Petroleum oils & oils from bituminous minerals (crude) reaching QR 2.1 billion nearly, decreased by 39.6 percent, and decrease in the Petroleum oils & oils from bituminous minerals (not crude) reaching 0.5 billion, decreased by 62.4 percent.

In October 2020, India was at the top of the countries of destination of Qatars exports with close to QR 2.6 billion, a share of 16.6 percent of total exports, followed by Japan with almost QR 2.3 billion and a share of 14.8 percent, China with about QR 2.3 billion, a share of 14.8 percent.

The year on year (October 2020 to October 2019), the group of ” Turbojets, Turbo propellers & Other Gas Turbines; Parts Thereof ” was at the top of the imported group of commodities, with QR 0.6 billion, showing an increase of 46.0 percent. In second place was ” Parts of Aero planes or Helicopters ” with QR 0.3 billion, showing a decrease of 20.4 percent and in third place was “Motor cars & other motor vehicles for the transport of persons” with QR 0.20 billion, decrease of 60.3 percent.

In October 2020, United State of America was the leading country of origin of Qatars imports with about QR 1.2 billion, a share of 14.7 percent of the imports, followed by China with QR 1.0 billion almost, a share of 12.0 percent, and India with QR 0.5 billion, a share of 5.8 percent.

الدوحة: حقق الميزان التجاري السلعي لدولة قطر والذي يمثل الفرق بين إجمالي الصادرات والواردات فائضا مقداره 7.0 مليار ريال، خلال أكتوبر الماضي، مسجلا بذلك هبوطا بنحو 4.6 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 39.6 بالمئة مقارنة بالشهر المماثل من العام 2019، لكنه حقق ارتفاعا بنحو 0.6 مليار ريال، وهو ما يعادل 9.5 بالمئة مقارنة مع سبتمبر عام 2020.

وجاء في تقرير لجهاز التخطيط والإحصاء بشأن التجارة الخارجية للدولة أن قيمة الصادرات القطرية (التي تشمل الصادرات ذات المنشأ المحلي وإعادة التصدير)، بلغت في أكتوبر هذا العام 15.3 مليار ريال تقريبا أي بانخفاض نسبته 23.5 بالمئة مقارنة بالشهر المماثل من العام 2019، وبارتفاع نسبته 14.1 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر سبتمبر 2020.

وانخفضت قيمة الواردات السلعية، لتصل إلى نحو 8.3 مليار ريال، بتراجع نسبته 1.0 بالمئة مقارنة قياسا بشهر اكتوبر عام 2019، وبارتفاع قدره 18.3 بالمئة قياسا بسبتمبر عام 2020.

وتشير البيانات إلى انخفاض قيمة صادرات “غازات النفط والهيدروكربونات الغازية الأخرى” بنسبة 18.1 بالمئة في أكتوبر الماضي لتصل إلى نحو 9.7 مليار ريال، قياسا بالشهر المماثل من العام 2019، في حين انخفضت قيمة “زيوت نفط وزيوت مواد معدنية قارية خام” بنسبة 39.6 بالمئة لتصل إلى ما يقارب 2.1 مليار ريال.

كما انخفضت قيمة صادرات “زيوت نفط وزيوت متحصل عليها من مواد معدنية قارية غير خام” بنسبة 62.4 بالمئة لتصل إلى نحو 0.5 مليار ريال.

واحتلت الهند صدارة دول المقصد بالنسبة لصادرات دولة قطر في أكتوبر هذا العام وذلك بقيمة إجمالية وصلت إلى 2.6 مليار ريال تقريبا أي ما نسبته 16.6 بالمئة من إجمالي قيمة الصادرات القطرية، تليها اليابان بقيمة 2.3 مليار ريال تقريبا أي ما نسبته 14.8 بالمئة من إجمالي قيمة الصادرات، ثم الصين بقيمة 2.3 مليار ريال تقريبا وبنسبة 14.8 بالمئة.

وجاءت مجموعة “عنفات نفاثة وعنفات دافعة، عنفات غازية أخرى وأجزاؤها ” على رأس قائمة الواردات السلعية مسجلة 0.6 مليار ريال وبارتفاع نسبته 46.0 بالمئة عن أكتوبر 2019، تليها مجموعة “أجزاء الطائرات العادية أو الطائرات العمودية” بنحو 0.3 مليار ريال، وبانخفاض 20.4 بالمئة، ثم مجموعة “سيارات وغيرها من العربات السيارة المصممة أساسا لنقل الأشخاص” التي سجلت 0.2 مليار ريال تقريبا وبانخفاض 60.3 بالمئة.

وبدورها، احتلت الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية صدارة دول المنشأ بالنسبة لواردات دولة قطر خلال شهر اكتوبر هذا العام، وبقيمة 1.2 مليار ريال تقريبا وبنسبة 14.7 بالمئة من إجمالي قيمة الواردات السلعية، ثم الصين بقيمة 1.0 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 12.0 بالمئة، تليها الهند بقيمة 0.5 مليار ريال أي ما نسبته 5.8 بالمئة من إجمالي تلك الواردات.
