Qatar Chamber Partakes in 11th Arab-German Energy Forum

Doha: The Qatar Chamber (QC) has participated in the ’11th Arab-German Energy Forum’ which kicked off on Tuesday via video conferencing.
The virtual event is organised by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the Society for International Cooperation (GIZ).
QC Board Member Dr Khaled bin Klefeekh Al Hajri and QC General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi represented the Chamber at the forum.
The digital forum brought regional ministers, CEOs, policy makers and industry leaders together, to discuss and explore the challenges and opportunities facing the energy sector in the evolution and transformation to decarbonized energy systems.
In statements, Dr Khaled Al Hajri said that the Arab-German relations have seen substantial development at all fields, stressing the importance of exchanging expertise between both parties in energy sector, particularly renewable energy, and its resources.
Al Hajri also indicated that the digital forum offers a good opportunity for investors and representatives of companies working in energy sector to underpin cooperation in this vital sector and expand the Arab-German commercial relations in various sectors, most prominently energy sector, affirming that the Arab countries are eager to take advantage of the vast expertise of German companies and industries in this vital sector.
For his part, Saleh Al Sharqi lauded the distinct relations between Germany and the State of Qatar, stressing that Germany has provided its scientific expertise to many strategic projects in the Arab countries, including the implementation of many infrastructure projects, foremost of which are infrastructure and energy projects.
He further added that several German leading companies have participated in the implementation of various strategic projects in Qatar including electricity generation, noting that there are over 300 German companies operating in Qatar in various sectors.
In his inaugural speech, President of the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry Dr Peter Ramsauer said the forum offered an opportunity to highlight a range of topics relating to investment in energy sector and strengthen cooperation between Arad and German companies in energy and renewable energy sources, especially that there are a myriad of opportunities in which both sides can cooperate and take benefit of the German experience in this vital sector.
Dr Ramsauer stressed that enhancing cooperation between Germany and Arab countries is a priority for the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

الدوحة: شاركت غرفة قطر في المنتدى العربي الألماني الحادي عشر للطاقة، الذي عقد عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي، وناقش التحديات واستكشف الفرص التي تواجه قطاع الطاقة في التحول إلى أنظمة الطاقة الخالية من الكربون.
وشارك وزراء إقليميون ومديرون تنفيذيون وصانعو سياسات وقادة صناعة، في المنتدى الذي تنظمه غرفة التجارة والصناعة العربية الألمانية، بالتعاون مع الوزارة الاتحادية للشؤون الاقتصادية والطاقة والوكالة الألمانية للتعاون الدولي.
وقال الدكتور خالد كليفيخ الهاجري عضو مجلس إدارة غرفة قطر، خلال مداخلته في المنتدى، إن العلاقات العربية الألمانية تشهد نموا في مختلف المجالات.
وشدد الهاجري على أهمية تبادل الخبرات بين الجانبين العربي والألماني في مجال الطاقة لا سيما الطاقة المتجددة ومصادرها، مبينا أن المنتدى الذي يحضره مستثمرون وأصحاب شركات تعمل في حقل الطاقة، يتيح الفرصة لتعميق التعاون في هذا القطاع الحيوي والمهم، وتوسيع العلاقات التجارية العربية الألمانية الدولية الواعدة في مختلف المجالات وخصوصا في قطاع الطاقة، حيث تحتاج المنطقة العربية إلى الاستفادة من خبرات الشركات والصناعات الألمانية في هذا القطاع.
من جانبه، أشاد السيد صالح حمد الشرقي المدير العام للغرفة، بعلاقات التعاون الوطيدة التي تربط دولة قطر وألمانيا، مؤكدا أن برلين قدمت خبراتها العلمية للعديد من المشاريع الاستراتيجية في الدول العربية كمشاريع البنية التحتية والطاقة، كما شاركت مؤسسات ألمانية في العديد من المشروعات ذات الأولوية الاستراتيجية في دولة قطر مثل توليد الكهرباء، فضلا عن وجود أكثر من 300 شركة ألمانية تعمل بالسوق القطرية في مجالات متنوعة.
من جهته، قال الدكتور بيتر رامسور رئيس مجلس إدارة غرفة التجارة والصناعة العربية الألمانية، خلال كلمته الافتتاحية، إن المنتدى يمثل فرصة لإلقاء الضوء على الكثير من الموضوعات المتعلقة بالطاقة والاستثمار فيها، خاصة وأن هناك الكثير من الفرص التي يمكن للجانبين الألماني والعربي التعاون فيها والاستفادة من الخبرة الألمانية في هذا القطاع الهام.
وشدد على أن تعزيز التعاون العربي الألماني يعتبر من أهم أولويات غرفة التجارة والصناعة العربية الألمانية، منوهاً بأن المنتدى يوفر منصة لتعزيز التعاون بين الشركات العربية والألمانية في قطاعات الطاقة والطاقة المتجددة على الخصوص.
