Sustainable transport to shortens distances in the 2022 World Cup

Doha: The State of Qatar has developed an ambitious strategy to enhance sustainability during its hosting of the FIFA World Cup in 2022 by setting new standards that will contribute to changing the way the upcoming tournaments and various major sporting events are organized in the future by establishing a sustainable legacy that contributes to promoting the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

The transport sector is one of the most important sectors that the State of Qatar is betting on for the success of the upcoming World Cup hosting, as fans will be able to attend more than one match in one day during the 2022 World Cup for the first time in the modern history of the World Cup thanks to an integrated and sustainable network of public transport linking the the eight stadiums of tournament.

One of the most prominent features of the 2022 World Cup is the ability to reach all stadiums that host matches within less than an hour, thanks to the close distances, which will enable the masses to attend more than one match in one day, without wasting great time and effort in moving between cities and stadiums

The metro will be the first opportunity in the history of the World Cup for visitors to the World Cup to watch a large number of tournament matches, as it is the most sustainable and environmentally friendly way, in addition to a network such as an advanced network of sprawling highways, as the longest distance between two of the eight World Cup stadiums is separating Al Bayt Stadium in the city Al Khor and Al Janoub Stadium are in Al Wakra, while the shortest distance is between Khalifa International Stadium and Education City Stadium.

وسيشكل المترو فرصة هي الأولى في تاريخ كأس العالم لزوار المونديال لمتابعة عدد كبير من مباريات البطولة باعتباره الوسيلة الأكثر استدامة وصداقة للبيئة الى جانب شبكة متطورة من الطرقات السريعة مترامية الأطراف، حيث ان أطول مسافة بين استادين من استادات المونديال الثمانية هي تلك الفاصلة بين استاد البيت بمدينة الخور واستاد الجنوب بمدينة الوكرة، بينما المسافة الأقصر هي بين استاد خليفة الدولي واستاد المدينة التعليمية.
