QF Launches 25th Anniversary Scholarships to Open Up New Educational Paths

Doha: Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development has launched the “QF 25th Anniversary Scholarships” to expand the opportunities that the organization offers for talented children and young people who have the ability to be the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow to benefit from the world-class education the organization provides.

Spanning both school and university education, the scholarships, which will cover all tuition and admission costs, have been unveiled as Qatar Foundation (QF) celebrates 25 years of enabling young learners to explore, question, discover, create, and achieve their full potential within its unique ecosystem of education.

Through the purely merit-based QF 25th Anniversary Scholarships presented by QFs Pre-University Education, 19 high school students will be supported along their educational journey in Grades 11-12, with applications now open. Meanwhile, six students entering Masters programs at QF member Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) have been selected to receive two-year 25th Anniversary Scholarships that will see them enter the next stage of their academic journey in a variety of courses within its colleges.

The QF 25th Anniversary Scholarships offered by HBKU focus on supporting students entering its Masters programs. The six students selected are Qatari, Palestinian, Indian, Iraqi, and Ethiopian, and are undertaking Masters degrees at HBKUs Colleges of Public Policy, Science and Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Life Sciences, Law, and Islamic Studies.

The 19 high school students who receive QF 25th Anniversary Scholarships will enter one of five QF schools in the 2021/22 academic year. The scholarships are open to all current Grade 10 students who are not registered in a QF school, regardless of nationality, race, color, religion, or ethnic background, and will be awarded based not only on a students outstanding academic performance, but also their good conduct and active contribution to their school.

Commenting on the occasion, President of Pre-University Education at QF Buthaina Ali Ali Nuaimi said: “For the past 25 years, education has been at the heart of Qatar Foundation it is how our organization started, and our commitment to cultivating children and young people to lead, create and innovate, drive change, and be lifelong learners is as strong today as it has ever been”.

“We believe in inclusive education, and in ensuring that those who seek to learn, discover, and grow should not be prevented from doing so. Our 25th anniversary is an apt time for us to expand the range of scholarships we already offer, opening up more educational opportunities for talented students who are determined to make a contribution to society and whose character shines through within and beyond the classroom,” Al Nuaimi added.

She noted that the QF 25th Anniversary scholarships provided by QFs Pre-University Education will bring the goals of such students further within their reach.

For his part, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah said that HBKU, being a member of Qatar Foundation, has a shared vision to engage communities, empower students, and unlock human potential.

“As Qatar Foundation marks its 25th anniversary, the QF Scholarships present a reaffirmation of its commitment to scholarly exchange and the provision of a remarkable educational experience. The scholarships also provide HBKU with an opportunity to attract top student talent and welcome them into the universitys unique and multi-dimensional learning ecosystem,” he said.

Shortlisted students will be confirmed in December 2020 and will be eligible to begin the application process in January 2021, with a final decision on scholarship recipients being made the following month.

الدوحة: أطلقت مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع برنامج منح “الذكرى الخامسة والعشرين”، للطلبة الموهوبين الذين يتمتعون بمهارات قيادية، ويمتلكون حس الابتكار، ولديهم القدرة على إحداث التغيير الإيجابي، بما يضمن لهم تعليما عالميا عالي الجودة.

يأتي الكشف عن المنح الدراسية في كل من المرحلتين ما قبل التعليم الجامعي وما بعده، بالتزامن مع احتفاء مؤسسة قطر بمرور 25 عاما على إطلاق قدرات الشباب وتمكينهم من الاستكشاف وطرح التساؤلات، وتحقيق إمكاناتهم ضمن البيئة التعليمية التي تتميز بها المؤسسة، على أن تشمل هذه المنح جميع الرسوم الدراسية وتكاليف القبول.

ومن خلال برنامج “منح الذكرى الخامسة والعشرين” لمؤسسة قطر القائم على الجدارة الأكاديمية، والتي تغطي التعليم ما قبل الجامعي بالمؤسسة فمن المقرر أن يتم دعم 19 طالبا من طلاب المدارس الثانوية طوال رحلتهم التعليمية في الصف الحادي عشر والثاني عشر، بالإضافة إلى اختيار ستة طلاب من برامج الماجستير بجامعة حمد بن خليفة للحصول على المنح لمدة عامين، والاستفادة من الفصول الدراسية التي توفرها كليات جامعة حمد بن خليفة.

ويركز برنامج المنح الدراسية للذكرى الخامسة والعشرين لمؤسسة قطر، الذي توفره جامعة حمد بن خليفة على دعم الطلاب الذين يرغبون بالالتحاق في برامج الماجستير. حيث تم اختيار ستة طلاب من دولة قطر، وفلسطين، والهند، والعراق، وإثيوبيا، وهم ملتحقون لنيل درجة الماجستير من كليات السياسات العامة، والعلوم والهندسة، والعلوم الإنسانية والاجتماعية، والعلوم الصحية والحيوية، والقانون، والدراسات الإسلامية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة.

أما طلاب المدارس الثانوية الـ19 الذين سيحصلون على منح الذكرى الخامسة والعشرين فسيلتحقون بواحدة من المدارس الخمس التابعة لمؤسسة قطر في العام الدراسي 2021 /2022. كما أن المنح الدراسية مفتوحة لجميع طلاب الصف العاشر الحاليين غير المسجلين في إحدى مدارس مؤسسة قطر، وسيتم اختيارهم على أساس أدائهم الأكاديمي المتميز وحسن السلوك ومشاركتهم الفاعلة في مدارسهم.

علما بأن آخر موعد للتقديم هو 22 نوفمبر الجاري، وسيتم تأكيد أسماء الطلاب الذين تم ترشحهم للمنحة في ديسمبر المقبل لبدء عملية التقديم في يناير 2021، مع اتخاذ قرار نهائي بشأن متلقي المنح الدراسية في شهر فبراير 2021.

وبهذه المناسبة قالت السيدة بثينة علي النعيمي، رئيس التعليم ما قبل الجامعي في مؤسسة قطر:”نحن نؤمن أيضا بالتعليم الشامل، ونحرص على تمكين الشباب الذين يسعون إلى التعلم، والاكتشاف، والتطور من القيام بذلك. فالذكرى السنوية الخامسة والعشرون التي نحتفي بها، هي الوقت المناسب لنا لتوسيع نطاق المنح الدراسية التي نقدمها، وتقديم المزيد من الفرص التعليمية للطلاب الموهوبين العازمين على تقديم المساهمة إلى المجتمع، والذين يتألقون داخل الفصل الدراسي وخارجه”.

وقالت إن برنامج منح الذكرى الخامسة والعشرين لمؤسسة قطر التي يقدمها التعليم ما قبل الجامعي بمؤسسة قطر تساعد الطلاب على تحقيق أهدافهم.

من جانبه، قال الدكتور أحمد مجاهد عمر حسنه، رئيس جامعة حمد بن خليفة إن الجامعة لديها رؤية مشتركة ترتكز على إشراك المجتمعات، وتمكين الطلاب، وإطلاق قدرات الإنسان.

وأضاف أن برنامج منح مؤسسة قطر يؤكد مجددا على التزام المؤسسة بالتبادل العلمي وتقديم تجربة تعليمية متميزة”.مشيرا إلى أن المنح الدراسية لجامعة حمد بن خليفة فرصة لاستقطاب طلاب على أعلى درجة من الكفاءة ودمجهم في منظومتها التعليمية الفريدة ومتعددة التخصصات.
