5th Edition of “KHOTWA” Program to Support Retirees Projects Launched

Doha: Qatar Development Bank (QDB), in cooperation with the General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA), launched the 5th edition of “KHOTWA” program, which aims to build the capacities of retirees in the field of entrepreneurship and convert their ideas into successful projects.
The program aims to train and develop retirees and teach them basic entrepreneurial skills, through a package of training programs and advisory services to enter the world of entrepreneurship, to create and manage a successful and sustainable business.
In a statement on this occasion, the Executive Director of Advisory and Incubation at QDB Ibrahim Abdulaziz Al Mannai, stressed that the program is a unique opportunity to benefit from the experiences of retirees to enrich the business environment in Qatar.
Al Mannai added that QDB believes in providing opportunities for everyone to participate in building a diversified business climate in the country, and the launch of “KHOTWA” program is part of QDB endeavors to support all entrepreneurs, in addition to making use of the experiences of retirees and harnessing them in projects that make difference.
For his part, the Director of Public Relations and Communications at GRSIA Mohammed Abdullah Al Malki, praised the partnership and cooperation with Qatar Development Bank to launch the 5th edition of this initiative, considering that it seeks to provide the necessary training and qualification to enable retirees to become entrepreneurs.
“KHOTWA” program, which was launched in its first edition in 2014, is a community initiative aimed at building and developing the capabilities and skills of retirees and encouraging them to establish their small and medium businesses and projects, and converting their ideas into successful projects, as the number of beneficiaries reached nearly 150 retirees in the total of previous editions.
The program will be held from Nov.1 until Nov.12, and from 10.30 in the morning until 12.30 in the afternoon, through video conference technology.

الدوحة: أطلق بنك قطر للتنمية، بالتعاون مع الهيئة العامة للتقاعد والتأمينات الاجتماعية، النسخة الخامسة من برنامج /خطوة/، والذي يهدف لبناء قدرات المتقاعدين في مجال ريادة الأعمال، وتحويل أفكارهم إلى مشاريع ناجحة.
ويسعى البرنامج إلى تدريب وتطوير المتقاعدين وتعليمهم المهارات الأساسية لريادة الأعمال، من خلال حزمة من برامج التدريب والخدمات الاستشارية لدخول عالم ريادة الأعمال لإنشاء وإدارة أعمال ناجحة ومستدامة.
وفي تصريح له بهذه المناسبة، أكد السيد إبراهيم عبدالعزيز المناعي المدير التنفيذي للخدمات الاستشارية وحاضنات الأعمال في بنك قطر للتنمية، أن البرنامج يعد فرصة مميزة للاستفادة من خبرات وتجارب المتقاعدين في إثراء بيئة الأعمال الحرة في قطر، مضيفا “نؤمن في بنك قطر للتنمية بإتاحة الفرص للجميع للمشاركة في بناء مناخ أعمال متنوع في الدولة، ويأتي إطلاق برنامج /خطوة/ ضمن مساعينا لدعم كافة رواد الأعمال، بجانب الاستفادة من خبرات المتقاعدين وتسخيرها في مشاريع تصنع فارقا لهم ولنا”.
من جانبه، أشاد السيد محمد عبدالله المالكي مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة والاتصال بالهيئة العامة للتقاعد، بالشراكة والتعاون مع بنك قطر للتنمية لإطلاق النسخة الخامسة من هذه المبادرة، معتبرا أنها تسعى لتوفير التدريب والتأهيل اللازم لتمكين المتقاعدين من عالم ريادة الأعمال.
كما قال المالكي: “إن هذه الخطوة تعتبر إضافة نوعية لجهود الهيئة لتعزيز قدرات المتقاعدين عبر دعم مشاريعهم الصغيرة والمتوسطة، رغم ظروف جائحة /كوفيد-19/ وتأثيراتها”، لافتا إلى أن إقبال المتقاعدين على تأسيس مشاريع صغيرة ومتوسطة يساهم في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية مما يعزز الجهود لتحقيق رؤية قطر 2030.
يذكر أن برنامج /خطوة/، الذي انطلق بنسخته الأولى في عام 2014، يعد مبادرة مجتمعية تهدف إلى بناء وتطوير قدرات ومهارات المتقاعدين وتشجيعهم على تأسيس أعمالهم ومشاريعهم الصغيرة والمتوسطة، وتحويل أفكارهم إلى مشاريع ناجحة، حيث بلغ عدد المستفيدين منه قرابة 150 متقاعدا في مجموع النسخ السابقة.
وسوف يعقد البرنامج ابتداء من الأول من نوفمبر المقبل وإلى غاية الثاني عشر منه، واعتبارا من الساعة العاشرة والنصف صباحا وحتى الثانية عشر والنصف ظهرا، عبر تقنية الاتصال المرئي، حيث يتضمن البرنامج جلسات استشارية خاصة للمشاركين لتحديد أفكار مشاريعهم ونوع الدعم الذي سيقدم لهم.
