Doha: Qatar University (QU) announced that Emergent Materials (EM), a multi-disciplinary journal founded by QU and published by Springer Nature, has been indexed in major databases, notably in SCOPUS.
Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature: scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings. Scopus delivers a comprehensive overview of the world’s research output in the fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities, featuring smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research.
Furthermore, EM previously has been indexed by the prestigious Web of Science after assessing the quality, number, and characteristics of papers published. Web of Science is a popular platform used to search literature and forms databases to support the world’s most trusted citation index for scientific and scholarly research.
EM aims to be responsible for providing a publication source to the growing community of materials scientists – chemists, engineers, physicists, and researchers who are involved in doing innovative research in materials science and engineering.
The goal is to publish a series of high-quality and high impact research articles that reflect and bring the best research in the field of physics, chemistry, biology, and engineering of advanced materials, by conveying these to the forefront and to the international research community.
The founder of the journal, Prof Mariam Ali al-Maadeed, Vice-President, Research and Graduate Studies, stated, “The progress in this magazine reflects the general strength and high quality of research administration and output at QU. The current international collaboration and involvement of scholars locally and internationally show that Qatar University can lead in the international scientific community with a powerful impact.”
QU has constantly invested in strengthening infrastructure support for materials research. There are more than 100 faculty members and researchers conducting research in materials and nanotechnology areas. These researches span across several colleges and centers/institutes excellent research facilities and infrastructure exist in these units for materials discovery, synthesis, characterization, testing and applications.

الدوحة: أعلنت جامعة قطر أن مجلة المواد الناشئة /Emergent Materials/ التي أسستها الجامعة كمجلة متعددة التخصصات تنشرها منصة /سبرنجر نيتشر Springer Nature/، قد تمت فهرستها في قواعد البيانات الرئيسية /سكوبس SCOPUS/.
وتعد /سكوبس/ أضخم قاعدة بيانات عالمية للملخصات والاقتباسات للمؤلفات المحكمة المنشورة في المجلات العلمية والكتب ووقائع المؤتمرات.
ويقدم موقع /سكوبس SCOPUS / نظرة شاملة على مخرجات الأبحاث العالمية في مجالات العلوم والتكنولوجيا والطب والعلوم الاجتماعية والفنون والعلوم الإنسانية، ويضم أدوات ذكية لتتبع البحوث وتحليلها وتصويرها.
وسابقا، تمت فهرسة المجلة بواسطة /شبكة العلوم/ Web of Science/ المرموقة، بعد تقييم جودة وعدد وخصائص منشوراتها.
وتعد شبكة العلوم نظاما شائعا يستخدم للبحث في المنشورات وقواعد البيانات التي تدعم فهرس الاقتباس الأكثر موثوقية في العلوم والبحث العلمي.
وتهدف مجلة المواد الناشئة إلى توفير مصدر نشر للجمهور المتزايد من علماء المواد والكيميائيين والمهندسين والفيزيائيين والباحثين الذين يشاركون في إجراء البحوث في علوم المواد والهندسة.
كما تهدف إلى نشر سلسلة من المقالات البحثية عالية الجودة ذات معامل التأثير المرتفع التي تزود مجتمع العلماء والباحثين العالميين بأفضل الأبحاث في حقول الفيزياء والكيمياء والأحياء وهندسة المواد المتقدمة.
وقالت البروفيسورة مريم علي المعاضيد، نائب رئيس جامعة قطر للبحث والدراسات العليا، مؤسسة المجلة في تصريح اليوم: “يعكس التقدم في هذه المجلة القوة والجودة العالية لإدارة البحوث والمخرجات في جامعة قطر، ويظهر التعاون الدولي الحالي، ومشاركة العلماء محليا ودوليا، أن جامعة قطر يمكن أن تقود المجتمع العلمي الدولي بتأثير قوي”.
يشار إلى أن لدى جامعة قطر حوالي 100 من أعضاء هيئة التدريس والباحثين القائمين على إجراء البحوث في مجالات المواد وتكنولوجيا المواد المتناهية الصغر /النانو تكنولوجي/، في مختلف الكليات والمراكز والمؤسسات في الجامعة ، كما تتوافر في تلك المراكز مرافق بحثية وبنية تحتية ممتازة لكشف وتوصيف وتجميع واختبار واستخدام المواد.
