Ministry of Education and Higher Education Honors 110 Veteran Teachers

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored 110 teachers in public schools of various nationalities who spent nearly 30 years in the service of the educational process and the preparation of future generations.

This comes within the framework of the virtual celebration of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the World Teacher’s Day under the slogan “messenger of science, thank you.”

The honor is an appreciation of the role of veteran teachers in preparing good citizens over time, and an affirmation of the attention that the teacher receives as the most important components of the educational system, especially the first generation who laid the solid building blocks of the educational edifice in Qatar.

On the occasion of the celebration of the World Teacher’s Day that is held on Oct. 5 of each year, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi praised the teachers and said that their role was, is and will remain essential and crucial in providing education for the students, as they have proven that they are leaders and role models in a time of crisis. He added that teacher performed their duties in spreading science and knowledge despite the dangers of the pandemic, carrying on themselves a supreme responsibility that they believed in its importance, and they did their duties to the fullest.

In his speech, HE the Minister affirmed that the past academic year witnessed a rapid response from the teachers in moving from the classroom learning environment to which they are accustomed to the distance learning environment with different standards, which made us all feel proud and confidence the educational system.

HE Al Hammadi added that the ministry was able to complete our previous academic year on time, and held the exams in the presence of male and female students with the implementation of strict precautionary measures.

HE the Minister said that the world celebrates 2020 Teacher’s Day, under the slogan “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future” as education faces a severe challenge all over the world, indicating that the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic were not limited to the health aspect only, but also had negative effects on all aspects of life, including the educational system in the whole world.

In this context, HE Al Hammadi addressed the teachers, saying, “It is customary for us to meet with you on Oct. 5 of each year to celebrate you, in appreciation of your role, and to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the joint recommendation between the International Labor Organization and UNESCO in 1966 regarding the conditions of teachers, but for the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, and in line with the implementation of the precautionary measures, we decided to celebrate this year from a distance, and we all hope that this gloom will disappear from the whole world, and that life will soon return to normal.

His Excellency also paid tribute to the new Qatari and expatriate teachers, in addition to the honored teachers on this day, who spent many years serving science and education in Qatar, expressing his gratitude for what they presented to this country during previous years, and in the past year in particular.

At the end of his speech, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi sent a message to his sons and daughters, male and female students, in which he urged them not to forget the role of their teachers, thank and appreciate them, treat them like their fathers and mothers, and be friendly and loyal to them as today in these exceptional circumstances, they are more worthy of their appreciation, respect and praise than ever before.

For her part, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Educational Affairs Fawzia Abdulaziz Al Khater congratulated all teachers in the State of Qatar on the World Teacher’s Day, extending heartfelt appreciation and deepest gratitude for their sincere and great efforts to advance the educational process in the State.

Al Khater also valued the efforts of everyone who bears the difficulties amidst the current circumstances the world is going through and the challenges facing the people’s lives, particularly in education.

In a speech marking the World Teacher’s Day, Al Khater praised the efforts exerted by the teachers amidst the current challenges, which imposed great burdens on education, saying that the teachers stood firm and strongly to confront these challenges and accomplished great achievements in the educational field that lived up to the level of aspirations.

She underlined that the Ministry’s celebration of the World Teacher’s Day annually aims to consolidate the status that teachers enjoy in the educational system in the State of Qatar, in appreciation of their noble message and their pivotal role in raising generations and instilling noble values.

Al Khater noted that the current exceptional circumstance make us count on teachers to make more effort and qualitative distinction in performance and upgrading education, through the use of innovative methods and modern strategies that are commensurate with the conditions of this stage and its specificity.

In conclusion, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for Educational Affairs reiterated great gratitude and appreciation to the eminent teachers for their dedication in performing their duties, and sincerity in performing this sacred message.

The United Nations marks the World Teacher’s Day on October 5 each year in appreciation of the role of teachers and to commemorates the signing of the 1966 UNESCO/ILO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers, which sets benchmarks regarding the rights and responsibilities of teachers and standards for their initial preparation and further education, recruitment, employment, and teaching and learning conditions.

الدوحة: كرمت وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي /110/ معلمين ومعلمات من المعلمين بالمدارس الحكومية من مختلف الجنسيات الذين قضوا قرابة الثلاثين عاما في خدمة العملية التربوية والتعليمية وإعداد أجيال المستقبل.

يأتي هذا في إطار الاحتفال الافتراضي لوزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي باليوم العالمي للمعلم تحت شعار: /رسول العلم شكرا/.

ويعد هذا التكريم تقديرا لدور قدامى المعلمين في إعداد مواطنين صالحين على مر الزمن، وتأكيدا على الاهتمام الذي يحظى به المعلم كأهم مكونات المنظومة التعليمية والتربوية لاسيما الرعيل الأول الذي وضع اللبنات الراسخة للصرح التعليمي في قطر.

وبمناسبة الاحتفال باليوم العالمي للمعلم الذي يقام في الخامس من أكتوبر من كل عام، أشاد سعادة الدكتور محمد بن عبدالواحد الحمادي وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي، بالمعلمين والمعلمات، وقال إن دورهم كان وما زال وسيبقى جوهريا وحاسما في توفير التعليم لطلابنا وطالباتنا، حيث أثبتوا أنهم قادة وقدوة في وقت الأزمة، وانطلقوا نحو أداء مهامهم في نشر العلم والمعرفة غير مبالين بمخاطر الوباء، حاملين على عواتقهم مسؤولية سامية آمنوا بأهميتها، وكنا على ثقة تامة في أدائهم على الوجه الأكمل.

وأكد سعادته، في كلمته، أن العام الأكاديمي المنصرم شهد تجاوبا سريعا من المعلمين والمعلمات في الانتقال من بيئة التعلم الصفية التي تعودوا عليها إلى بيئة التعلم عن بعد بمقاييس مغايرة ومعايير مختلفة، مما جعلنا نشعر جميعا بالفخر والاعتزاز والثقة في نظامنا التعليمي.

وأضاف سعادته: ” فقد استطعنا، بتوفيق الله وعونه، أن نكمل عامنا الأكاديمي السابق في موعده، وأجرينا الاختبارات بحضور الطلاب والطالبات، ضمن إجراءات احترازية مشددة، وكان لكم الدور الأكبر في إنجازها، ولا أبالغ حين أقول إن دوركم كان وما زال وسيبقى جوهريا وحاسما في توفير التعليم لطلابنا وطالباتنا، فلكم منا كل الشكر والتقدير”.

وقال سعادة الدكتور محمد بن عبدالواحد الحمادي، إن العالم يحتفل هذا العام بيوم المعلم، تحت شعار “المعلمون: القيادة في أوقات الأزمات، ووضع تصور جديد للمستقبل”، حيث يواجه التعليم في العالم أجمع تحديا قاسيا، مشيرا إلى أن آثار جائحة كورونا /كوفيد-19/ لم تقتصر فقط على الجانب الصحي، بل كانت لها آثارها السلبية على كافة مناحي الحياة، بما في ذلك على المنظومة التعليمية في العالم أجمع.

وفي هذا السياق، خاطب سعادته المعلمين قائلا: جرت العادة أن نلتقي بكم في الخامس من أكتوبر من كل عام احتفالا بكم، وتقديرا لدوركم، وتخليدا لذكرى اعتماد التوصية المشتركة بين منظمتي العمل الدولية واليونسكو في العام 1966 بشأن أوضاع المعلمين، ولكن لظروف جائحة كورونا، وتماشيا مع تطبيق الإجراءات الاحترازية، ارتأينا أن نحتفل هذا العام عن بعد، وكلنا أمل أن تزول هذه الغمة عن العالم أجمع، وتعود الحياة إلى طبيعتها قريبا، بحول الله وقوته”.

كما حيا سعادته المعلمين والمعلمات الجدد من القطريين والوافدين، بالإضافة إلى المعلمين والمعلمات المكرمين في هذا اليوم، الذين أمضوا أعواما عديدة في خدمة العلم والتعليم في قطر، معربا عن امتنانه لما قدموه لهذا الوطن خلال الأعوام السابقة، وفي العام الماضي بشكل خاص.

وفي ختام كلمته وجه سعادة الدكتور محمد بن عبدالواحد الحمادي وزير التعليم والتعليم العالي، رسالة لأبنائه وبناته الطلاب والطالبات دعاهم فيها بألا ينسوا دور معلميهم ومعلماتهم، وأن يشكروهم ويقدروهم، ويعاملوهم كآبائهم وأمهاتهم، وأن يبادلوهم ودا بود، ووفاء بوفاء لأنهم اليوم وفي هذه الظروف الاستثنائية هم أهل لتقديرهم واحترامهم وثنائهم أكثر من أي وقت مضى.

بدورها، هنأت السيدة فوزية عبدالعزيز الخاطر وكيل وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي المساعد للشؤون التعليمية، المعلمين والمعلمات في دولة قطر بيوم المعلم، وتقدمت إلى جميع المعلمين والمعلمات بأسمى عبارات الشكر والتقدير والامتنان، شاكرة لهم عطاءهم الخالص، وجهودهم العظيمة في سبيل الارتقاء بالعملية التعليمية، كما ثمنت جهود كل من حمل على عاتقه تحمل الصعاب في ظل هذه الظروف التي يمر بها العالم، من تحديات في حياة الناس ومعيشتهم، وفي التعليم بشكل خاص.

وقالت الخاطر، في كلمتها بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمعلم، ” نقدر لكم كل ما بذلتموه من جهود في ظل هذ الظروف التي تجتاح العالم، والتي فرضت على التعليم أعباء كبيرة، كنتم أنتم أهلا للتصدي لها والوقوف بكل همة وحزم ونشاط، فجاءت إنجازاتكم في الميدان التعليمي حافلة بالنجاح واستمرارية ما نصبو إليه”، مشددة على أن احتفاء الوزارة بيوم المعلم سنويا يأتي ترسيخا للمكانة التي يحظى بها المعلمون في النظام التعليمي في دولة قطر، تقديرا لرسالتهم التربوية السامية، وتعبيرا عن دورهم المحوري في تنشئة الأجيال، وبث القيم الفاضلة في وجدانهم، وخلق جيل صالح لذاته ووطنه وأمته.

وأكدت الخاطر أن استمرار هذه الأوضاع الخاصة اليوم يجعلنا نعول على المعلمين والمعلمات لبذل المزيد من الجهد والتميز النوعي في الأداء والارتقاء بالتعليم، من خلال استخدام الطرق المبتكرة والاستراتيجيات الحديثة التي تتناسب وظروف هذه المرحلة وخصوصيتها.

واختتمت السيدة فوزية عبدالعزيز الخاطر وكيل وزارة التعليم والتعليم العالي المساعد للشؤون التعليمية، كلمتها بقولها: لكم منا أيها المعلمون الأجلاء عظيم الثناء، وجزيل التقدير، على تفانيكم في تأدية واجباتكم المهنية، وإخلاصكم في حمل الأمانة، وتأدية هذه الرسالة المقدسة، فقد أعطيتم وأجزلتم العطاء، وكنتم على الدوام رمزا للبذل ومنهلا للعلم وقدوة لطلابكم، فهنيئا لكم بيومكم هذا، وكل عام وأنتم بخير.

يذكر أن الأمم المتحدة تحتفل سنويا باليوم العالمي للمعلم في الخامس من أكتوبر من كل عام، وذلك تقديرا لدور المعلمين، وتخليدا لذكرى اعتماد التوصية المشتركة بين منظمتي العمل الدولية ومنظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والعلم والثقافة /اليونسكو/، في الخامس من أكتوبر 1966 بشأن أوضاع المعلمين، والتي تعتبر إطارا مرجعيا على المستوى الدولي فيما يتعلق بمسؤوليات المعلمين وحقوقهم وواجباتهم، ومعايير إعدادهم، بل اعتبرت هذه التوصية من أهم المبادئ التوجيهية لتعزيز أوضاع المعلمين لصالح جودة التعليم.
