UDC tests 600 frontline staff

United Development Company (UDC), a leading Qatari public shareholding company and master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, has collaborated with the Ministry of Public Health on the national initiative to protect the community against the COVID-19 pandemic.

In this context, random COVID-19 tests were conducted over two days, for 600 frontline UDC workers in addition to retail and restaurant staff who are dealing directly with customers and visitors at The Pearl-Qatar to ensure safety of all.

This initiative comes within the framework of government efforts to contain the spread of the pandemic in light of the return to work in public and private sectors and after the reopening of retail stores, restaurants, mosques and beaches at The Pearl-Qatar as part of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 related restrictions, which has resulted in a remarkable increase in visitor influx and retail activity. The Pearl-Qatar has also embarked on the Phase 3 of the gradual lifting of restrictions related to COVID-19, including the reopening of parks, playgrounds, nurseries, salons, spas and gyms. 

UDC has taken active preventive measures and imposed strict restrictions since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, to safeguard the health and safety of all residents and visitors of The Pearl-Qatar and continues to do so in light of the state of Qatar’s directives.

تعاونت الشركة المتحدة للتنمية، المطور الرئيسي لجزيرتي اللؤلؤة-قطر وجيوان، مع وزارة الصحة العامة بشأن المبادرة الوطنية لحماية المجتمع من وباء كوفيد-19، حيث تم إجراء فحوصات عشوائية ل 600 من العاملين بالشركة، بالإضافة إلى موظفي المحلات التجارية والمطاعم الذين يتعاملون مباشرةً مع العملاء والزوار في جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر وذلك لضمان سلامة الجميع.

تأتي هذه المبادرة في إطار جهود الاطمئنان على الوضع الوبائي بالدولة في ظل العودة الواسعة للعمل في القطاعين العام والخاص وعقب إعادة فتح المحلات التجارية والمطاعم والمساجد والشواطئ في جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر، ما أدى إلى زيادة ملحوظة في تدفق زوار الجزيرة والحركة التجارية فيها. كما شرعت جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر في تطبيق شروط المرحلة الثالثة من الرفع التدريجي للقيود المرتبطة بكوفيد-19 بما في ذلك إعادة فتح الحدائق وحضانات الأطفال والصالونات والصالات الرياضية. كانت الشركة المتحدة للتنمية اتخذت جميع التدابير الوقائية وفرضت قيودًا صارمة منذ تفشّي وباء كوفيد-19، للحفاظ على صحة وسلامة جميع سكان وزوار جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر. وتعد جزيرة اللؤلؤة-قطر وجهةً رئيسية للترفيه والتسوق وارتياد المطاعم، مع وجود أكثر من 33,000 مقيم و350 منفذًا تجاريًا نشطًا في الجزيرة من محلات ومطاعم.
