Qatar Airways operates more than 450 flights to 70 destinations at the end of July

Qatar Airways has consolidated its position as the largest international carrier in the world. The multiple award-winning airline has flown over 70 million kilometres to take home over 2 million passengers on more than 17,000 flights during the crisis.

The figures, shared by the airline on Twitter yesterday, show a significant improvement in Qatar Airways’ performance.

On June 2 this year, the airline had announced it became the largest carrier in the world flying over 50 million kilometres to repatriate over 1.8 million passengers on more than 15,000 flights during the crisis.

Growing passenger numbers reflect that more people are relying on Qatar Airways for international travel than any other airline. The airline’s cargo division has also achieved remarkable growth in its operations.

Qatar Airways Cargo continues to lead its sector with more than 1 billion cargo tonne kilometres (CTK), demonstrating the crucial role played by the airline to support global trade and the transport of essential medical and aid supplies to impacted regions. Qatar Airways’ stellar performance during the coronavirus crisis is driven by multipronged strategy of the airline to pursue growth and ensure safety of passengers.

While many airlines around the world were struggling to continue their operations due to COVID-19 outbreak, Qatar Airways continued to maintain a robust schedule and network. Qatar Airways is one of the few global airlines to have never stopped flying throughout this crisis. The airline’s mix of modern fuel-efficient aircraft helped it to develop a sustainable solution.

It also allowed it to continue flying routes with less overall demand as it has a variety of aircraft it can select from to offer the right capacity in each market. As the signs of global recovery from COVID-19 started to become visible, the airline announced plans to gradually rebuild its network.

With the airline’s network never falling below 30 destinations throughout this crisis, Qatar Airways continues to lead the recovery of international air travel.

Globally, Qatar Airways relaunched 11 destinations on July 1 including Bali Denpasar, Beirut, Belgrade, Berlin, Boston, Edinburgh, Larnaca, Los Angeles, Prague, Washington DC, and Zagreb.

This marked the largest number of route resumptions in a single day since Qatar Airways started to rebuild its network. By the end of July, its network will expand to more than 450 weekly flights to over 70 destinations worldwide.

وتسيّر القطرية رحلاتها حالياً إلى العديد من الوجهات في مختلف أنحاء العالم، بما في ذلك لندن وفرانكفورت وسيدني، لتساهم بذلك في نقل العديد من المسافرين إلى بلدانهم.

ونوهت الخطوط القطرية عبر موقعها انه قد تطرأ بعض التغيّرات على جدول رحلاتها في غضون فترة قصيرة نظراً للأوضاع الراهنة، حيث تفرض العديد من الحكومات قيوداً على دخول أراضيها للحد من تفشي فيروس كورونا.

وتعمل الخطوط الجوية القطرية بشكلٍ وطيدٍ مع السلطات المحلية إلى جانب الحكومات العالمية لتطبيق آخر النصائح والإرشادات المتعلّقة بفيروس كورونا (كوفيد-19) وتشغيل رحلاتها وخدماتها وفقاً لذلك.

كما تسعى للموازنة بين احتياجات الملايين من مسافرينا مع التحديات التشغيلية التي نواجهها نظراً للقيود المفروضة على الدخول إلى عددٍ من الدول.

ومع وجود العديد من القيود المفروضة على دخول الدول حول العالم، دعت القطرية المسافرين للتأكد من متطلبات دخول الوجهات التي تنوي زيارتها خلال المعلومات المتوفرة عبر موقعها السمي الالكتروني.
