Some beaches to be earmarked for summer camping activities

A number of beaches will be designated for temporary summer camping purposes in addition to other locations for swimming as well as parking portacabins on various beaches across the country, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported citing a Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) official.
Camping will be allowed on certain days of the week, which will be announced later, according to Saleh al-Kuwari, director of the natural reserves department at the MME.
He told the daily that 27 portacabins were removed from various beaches around the country and legal procedures initiated against the violators
accordingly.
The violating portacabins were removed from five beaches as their owners had camped there at an unspecified time.
An inspection campaign to address such violations was launched last week and it is set to continue until the end of summer.
Besides, inspection teams will be touring the various targeted areas round-the-clock to prevent violations and encroachments on wildlife and natural reserves, in co-operation with the authorities concerned.
They will also constantly monitor and protect land and marine (island) reserves and detect any related violations, the daily added.
A considerable number of violations of the Public Hygiene law have been recorded on beaches as people turned up in large numbers following the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
Accordingly, an awareness campaign was launched to raise people’s awareness on the importance of maintaining the cleanness of beaches across the country.

سيتم تخصيص عدد من الشواطئ لأغراض التخييم الصيفية المؤقتة بالإضافة إلى مواقع أخرى للسباحة وأماكن مخصصة لركن الكبائن المتنقلة على مختلف الشواطئ في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وفقاً لما ذكرته صحيفة “الراية ” اليومية المحلية العربية نقلاً عن مسؤول في وزارة البلدية والبيئة.
وقال صالح الكواري، مدير إدارة المحميات الطبيعية في وزارة البلدية والبيئة، إنه سيتم السماح بالتخييم في أيام محددة من الأسبوع، والتي سيتم الإعلان عنها في وقت لاحق.
وقال للصحيفة أنه تم إزاحة 27 كبينة متنقلة من مختلف الشواطئ فى جميع أنحاء البلاد وبدأت الاجراءات القانونية ضد المخالفين وفقاً لذلك.
وقد أزيلت الكبائن المتنقلة المخالفة من خمسة شواطئ لأن أصحابها كانوا يخيمون هناك في وقت غير محدد.
وقد شنت الأسبوع الماضي حملة تفتيش للتصدي لهذه الانتهاكات ومن المقرر أن تستمر حتى نهاية الصيف.
كما ستقوم فرق التفتيش بجولات في مختلف المناطق المستهدفة على مدار الساعة لمنع الانتهاكات والتعديات على الحياة البرية والمحميات الطبيعية بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية.
وأضافت الصحيفة أنهم سيراقبون ويحمون باستمرار المحميات البرية والبحرية ( الجزيرة ) ويكشفون عن أية انتهاكات ذات صلة.
وقد سُجل عدد كبير من انتهاكات قانون النظافة العامة على الشواطئ حيث ظهر الناس بأعداد كبيرة في أعقاب الرفع التدريجي للقيود المفروضة بسبب كوفيد-19.
وبناءً على ذلك، تم إطلاق حملة توعية لتوعية الناس بأهمية الحفاظ على نظافة الشواطئ في جميع أنحاء البلد.
