QIB’s credit cards are now contactless to support Tap & Pay transactions

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) has launched its new contactless credit cards.

The contactless payment solution allows QIB credit cardholders to safely and conveniently, tap and pay, using their credit card at any contactless enabled point of sale (POS) machine.

Contactless cardholders can conveniently tap and pay for transactions under QR300 without a need for a PIN. For purchases over QR300, customers can simply tap their card and enter their PIN to confirm the transaction. Newly issued cards and replacements due to expiry, damage, or loss, will be issued with a contactless feature going forward.

Current QIB credit cardholders can digitally, from the comfort of their home, request a credit card upgrade from QIB’s Mobile App to receive the new contactless credit card. The credit cards will be conveniently delivered to the customers preferred location using QPost or can be collected from the C-Ring service center.

Commenting on the launch, D. With contactless payment solutions now available for our customers, on top of previously launched services such as the full control and management of customers’ credit cards through the App, the mPay wallet for instant mobile to mobile transfers and NFC-enabled POS machines, we are supporting Qatar’s digital transformation and innovation towards a smart and contactless future.”

Certified by Visa and Mastercard, and powered by their NFC platforms, with this initiative, QIB is aligning with Qatar Central Bank’s vision for a safe, secure and cashless economy, ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

In line with QCB’s goal to achieve a safe, secure and cashless economy, QIB recently launched its mPay digital wallet, which provides a cashless and cardless payment gateway within Qatar.

QIB customers can activate their mPay digital wallet through the awardwinning QIB mobile app, which will be linked to their mobile number. Once activated, customers will be able to send and receive money, as easily as sending an SMS.

أطلق مصرف قطر الإسلامي (المصرف) بطاقات ائتمانية تعتمد تقنية الدفع بدون لمس والتي تتيح لحاملي بطاقات الائتمان الجديدة من المصرف الدفع بسهولة وأمان بدون لمس، من خلال أي جهاز نقاط بيع مزود بتقنية NFC)) للتواصل اللاتلامسي.

أصبح بامكان أي حامل بطاقة ائتمانية الدفع بدون لمس لعمليات الشراء التي تقل قيمتها عن 300 ريال قطري. وبالنسبة إلى عمليات الشراء التي تزيد قيمتها عن 300 ريال قطري، يمكن للعملاء ببساطة تمرير البطاقة ثم إدخال الرمز السري لإجراء المعاملة.

سيتم إصدار كافة بطاقات الائتمان الجديدة، أو التي يطلب العميل استبدالها بسبب انتهاء الصلاحية أو التلف أو الفقدان، بتقنية الدفع بدون لمس. ويمكن لحاملي بطاقات ائتمان المصرف طلب استبدال بطاقاتهم بكل سهولة من خلال تطبيق جوال المصرف، واستلام بطاقة ائتمان بالتقنية الجديدة. وسيتم تسليم بطاقات الائتمان الجديدة إلى العملاء عبر خدمة بريد قطر أو من خلال مركز الخدمات للمصرف في طريق الدائري الثالث.

وتعليقاً على إطلاق تقنية الدفع بدون لمس على بطاقات الائتمان الجديدة، قال السيد د. أناند المدير العام لمجموعة الخدمات المصرفية للأفراد في المصرف: “نحن ملتزمون في المصرف بتطوير خدماتنا الرقمية باستمرار لتتناسب مع الاحتياجات المتغيرة للعملاء. كما نهدف إلى تقديم تجارب رقمية توفر أفضل قدر من السرعة والراحة والأمان لجميع عملائنا. ومع حلول الدفع بدون لمس المتاحة المتوفرة الآن، بالإضافة إلى الخدمات التي تم إطلاقها مؤخراً مثل التحكّم الكامل بالبطاقات الائتمانية من خلال تطبيق الجوال، ومحفظة mPay للدفع من جوال إلى آخر وأجهزة نقاط البيع المزودة بتقنية الدفع بدون لمس، نسعى الى دعم التحول الرقمي والابتكار في قطر لتحقيق النمو والتطور”.

ومع اعتماده من قبل شركتي فيزا وماستركارد، وبدعم من منصات NFC الخاصة بها، يأتي إطلاق هذه المبادرة تماشياً مع الجهود التي يبذلها مصرف قطر المركزي لتحقيق اقتصاد آمن ومتين لا يعتمد على الدفع النقدي، وذلك استعداداً لاستضافة كأس العالم فيفا قطر 2022 وما بعدها.

وأطلق المصرف مؤخراً محفظة mPay الرقمية، والتي توفر بوابة آمنة للدفع داخل قطر، حيث لا تعتمد على الدفع النقدي والبطاقات المصرفية. ويمكن لعملاء المصرف تفعيل محفظتهم الخاصة عبر التطبيق، والمتصلة مباشرة برقم الجوال الخاص بالعميل. وبمجرد تفعيل الخدمة، سيتمكن العملاء بسهولة من نقل الأموال إلى محفظة mPay  الرقمية الخاصة بهم، وذلك من خلال استخدام حساباتهم لدى المصرف.
