Ministry of Public Health Launches Qatar Medical Specialties Certification
وزارة الصحة العامة تدشن شهادة الاختصاصات الطبية القطرية
The Ministry of Public Health has announced the launch of the Qatar Medical Specialties Certificate (Qatari Board). The new certification program is an important step in improving the efficiency of practicing medical professionals in Qatar and its establishment represents the culmination of a major joint effort from the country’s health sector. The certification will help improve the quality of medical services in Qatar by setting standards to ensure that physicians who earn the credential demonstrate exceptional expertise in a particular specialty and/or subspecialty of medical practice.
Dr. Saad Al Kaabi, Director of the Healthcare Professions Department at the Ministry of Public Health confirmed that registration for the Qatari Board is scheduled to open in July. He said details about the Qatari Board and its organizational structure and registration mechanism will be announced in the coming weeks.
Dr. Al Kaabi added that the Ministry of Public Health will work to attract international partners from around the globe as well as collaborate with regional medical councils to ensure the Qatari Board meets the highest international standards. He said Qatar-based academic and clinical institutions would also play an important part in administrating the Board’s certification.
Dr. Abdullatif Al Khal, Director of the Department of Medical Education at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), said the specialized medical training programs offered in Qatar rank among the world’s best. He said most of HMC’s residency programs and some of its fellowship programs have received international accreditation from the American Council for Accreditation of Medical Specialties (ACGME-I) and accreditation by the Arab Board.
Dr. Al Khal said Qatar’s medical sector is comprised of a large number of distinguished Qatari and expatriate doctors and professors who are experienced and competent in developing medical education curriculum, administering examinations, and evaluating the skills and knowledge of doctors. He said many of these professionals will play a role in ensuring the success of Qatari Board by providing a comprehensive, independent evaluation of physicians’ specialist experience, knowledge, and skills.

دشنت وزارة الصحة العامة شهادة الاختصاصات الطبية القطرية “البورد القطري ” في خطوة هامة تأتي تتويجاً للجهود الكبيرة لتحسين وتطوير كفاءة الكوادر الطبية في دولة قطر، وذلك من خلال معايير عالية في تقييم الأطباء الذين يكملون تدريبهم في التخصصات المختلفة في المستشفيات والبرامج المعتمدة في دولة قطر، والتي تؤدي في النهاية إلى حصولهم على “البورد القطري “.
ومن المقرر أن يتم فتح باب التسجيل في “البورد القطري” للتخصصات الطبية المختلفة بداية شهر يوليو المقبل.
وأكد الدكتور سعد الكعبي، مدير إدارة التخصصات الصحية في وزارة الصحة العامة أنه سيتم خلال الأسابيع القادمة الإعلان عن تفاصيل “البورد القطري ” وهيكله التنظيمي وآلية التسجيل للأطباء المتدربين.
وأوضح أن وزارة الصحة العامة ستعمل على استقطاب شركاء دوليين من مجالس طبية عالمية وإقليمية من أجل تحقيق أعلى المستويات العالمية والاعتراف الدولي. كما ستشارك المؤسسات الأكاديمية والإكلينيكية في دولة قطر في مهام “البورد القطري”.
ومن جانبه أشار الدكتور عبداللطيف الخال مدير إدارة التعليم الطبي بمؤسسة حمد الطبية إلى أن برامج التدريب الطبية التخصصية في دولة قطر تعتبر من أفضل البرامج التدريبية وأحسنها أداءً على مستوى العالم، كما أن معظم برامج الإقامة وبعض برامج الزمالة في الدولة حاصلة على الاعتماد من قبل المجلس الأمريكي لاعتماد التخصصات الطبية(ACGME-I ) وكذلك اعتماد البورد العربي.
ويمتاز القطاع الطبي في دولة قطر ولا سيما القطاع العام بالموارد الكبيرة من الأطباء والأساتذة المتميزين من القطرين والمقيمين من أصحاب الخبرة والكفاءة في التعليم وعقد الامتحانات وتقييم الأطباء مما يثري “البورد القطري ” ويساعد على إنجاحه.
