Carrefour raises QR350,000 for EAA Foundation during Ramadan

This Ramadan, Carrefour Qatar has donated QR350,000 to the Education Above All (EAA) foundation to provide underprivileged families with greater access to education.

Through a series of initiatives throughout the holy month, Carrefour has leveraged its vast reach to help strengthen the communities it serves through (EAA) Foundation’s “Together” programme.

During the first week of the Holy month, Carrefour joined forces with its customers, matching each donation. In mid-Ramadan, Carrefour partnered with Unilever as the company donated QR1 to EAA, each time a customer bought a Knorr or Hellman’s mayonnaise from Carrefour.

During Eid, Carrefour committed to donating QR1 each time a customer scanned their MyClub barcode at check-out, resulting in a total donation of QR54,000.

The series of on-going donation initiatives encouraged customers to continue donating throughout the month, with proceeds seeing a significant increase during Eid al-Fitr. This Ramadan marks one year of collaboration between Carrefour and EAA, resulting in total donations of QR4mn over the course of one year.

أعلنت «كارفور قطر» نتائج مبادرتها الخيرية خلال شهر رمضان الكريم، والتي انتهت بجمع تبرّعات مالية بقيمة 350 ألف ريال قطري لصالح مؤسسة «التعليم فوق الجميع»، والتي تهدف إلى توفير فرص التعليم النوعي للأطفال والشباب المقيمين في قطر.

وتأتي هذه المبادرة خلال حملة شهر رمضان المبارك لدعم برنامج «سوياً»، الذي كانت قد أطلقته «كارفور قطر» لمساعدة الأهالي والعائلات والأسر المقيمة في الدولة على إزالة المعوقات التي تحول دون التحاق أطفالهم بالمدارس، وبالتالي توفير فرصة التعليم لجميع الأطفال والشباب المقيمين في الدولة.

وفي حين تسعى إلى تعزيز المجتمعات التي تخدمها، خاصّةً من خلال الانتشار الواسع لمتاجرها عبر الدولة، قامت «كارفور قطر» بتوفير الفرصة لعملائها لتقديم التبرّعات خلال أوّل أسابيع الشهر الفضيل، والتبرّع بعدها بما يساوي تبرعات العملاء على مدار الأسبوع. وفي منتصف شهر رمضان المبارك، دخلت «كارفور» في شراكة مع شركة «يونيليفر»، قامت من خلالها بالتبرع بريال قطري واحد عن كل مرة يشتري فيها العملاء أحد المنتجات المحددة، وتقديمها إلى مؤسسة «التعليم فوق الجميع».

وخلال فترة عيد الفطر، التزمت «كارفور» بالتبرع بريال قطري واحد عن كل مرة يجري فيها العملاء عملية شراء باستخدام برنامج «ماي كلوب» عند صناديق الدفع، الأمر الذي أدّى إلى تقديم تبرع إجماليّ بقيمة 54 ألف ريال قطري.

وشجّعت هذه المبادرات العملاء على مواصلة التبرع على مدار الشهر الفضيل؛ حيث شهدت عائدات التبرعات زيادة كبيرة خلال عيد الفطر. ونتج عن التعاون بين «كارفور» ومؤسسة «التعليم فوق الجميع» جمع وتقديم تبرّعات إجمالية بقيمة 4 ملايين ريال قطري على مدار العام.

وقال لورنت هاوسكنشت، مدير «كارفور قطر»: «تلتزم كارفور بدعم المجتمعات التي تعمل بها بشكل عام، ومنح الأمل للشباب بشكل خاص من خلال تزويدهم بإمكانية الوصول إلى التعليم الجيد. فنحن نؤيد التعليم بشدّة، ونعتقد أنه ركيزة أساسية لتطوير المجتمع، وشراكتنا القوية مع مؤسسة «التعليم فوق الجميع» شاهدة على هذا الالتزام».

ومن جانبها؛ قالت موزة المنصوري، اختصاصية جمع التبرعات والشراكات الدولية في مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع: «نفخر في مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع، بالتعاون مع مجموعة من الشركاء حول العالم مثل «كارفور» في قطر؛ حيث ستساهم هذه التبرعات في توفير فرص التعليم الجيد للأطفال والشباب المقيمين في الدولة، ونحن ملتزمون بحماية حق كل طفل في التعليم الآن وأكثر من أي وقت مضى، ومعاً سنبذل قصارى جهدنا لضمان عدم انقطاع التعليم بغضّ النظر عن أي عقبات جديدة ناجمة عن الأوضاع الحالية، ومهما كانت التحديات ستواصل مؤسسة التعليم فوق الجميع تمكين الأطفال والشباب من خلال التعليم».
