Over the past 60 days, Visit Qatar transformed the UNESCO-protected Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve into an immersive desert experience, attracting more than 55,000 visitors from December 18, 2024, to February 15, 2025.
The activation featured:
✅ 29 performances – illusionists, storytelling, and cultural dances.
✅ 17 interactive workshops – hands-on heritage and adventure experiences.
✅ 9 thrilling activities – camel & horse rides, archery, stargazing, and hot air ballooning.
A New Benchmark for Tourism
Eng. Ahmed Hamad Al Binali, Director of Festivals and Events at Visit Qatar, stated:
“This activation redefined Qatar’s desert tourism, blending adventure, culture, and relaxation while attracting visitors from around the world. Ras Abrouq is just the beginning of many exciting experiences to come.”

The event also celebrated Qatar’s heritage with Al Hosh Majlis, daily camel parades, and cultural installations, while Our Habitas Resort offered wellness retreats.
