In the first eight months of 2024, Qatar saw a 26% year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals, reaching approximately 3.3 million visitors, according to official data from Qatar Tourism.
Qatar aims to leverage its third national strategy to boost tourist arrivals to 6 million, with spending reaching 34 billion Qatari riyals in tourism destinations and hotel bookings totaling 19 million nights.
The World Travel & Tourism Council forecasts that the tourism sector will contribute 135.2 billion Qatari riyals to Qatar’s economy by 2034, accounting for 12.8% of the GDP, compared to 90.8 billion riyals in 2024, according to CNBC.
