Qatar Climbs 11 Spots in Global Startup Rankings

Qatar’s entrepreneurial and startup ecosystems continue to gain global recognition, marking a significant rise in international rankings. According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2024, Qatar’s startup ecosystem advanced by 11 positions, ranking 7th in the Middle East and 79th globally, recovering from a six-position drop over the last two years.
Additionally, the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor’s (GEM) Qatar National Report 2023/2024, produced in collaboration with Qatar Development Bank (QDB), highlighted Qatar’s outstanding performance. The country ranked 3rd in the MENA region and 5th globally in the National Entrepreneurship Context Index (NECI) with a score of 5.9, well above the global average of 4.7.
Furthermore, the report revealed a significant rise in Total Early-Stage Entrepreneurial Activity (TEA) in Qatar, which reached 14.3%, up from 10.7% the previous year, showcasing the country’s growing support for startups and entrepreneurship.

تواصل منظومة ريادة الأعمال والشركات الناشئة في قطر جذب الاهتمام العالمي، حيث شهدت هذه القطاعات تحسنًا ملحوظًا في التصنيفات الدولية. وفقًا لتقرير مؤشر منظومة الشركات الناشئة العالمي لعام 2024، تقدم النظام البيئي للشركات الناشئة في قطر 11 مركزاً ليحتل المرتبة السابعة في الشرق الأوسط والمرتبة 79 عالميًا، متجاوزاً التراجع الذي شهدته المنظومة بمقدار ستة مراكز خلال العامين الماضيين.
في الوقت ذاته، أشار تقرير المرصد العالمي لريادة الأعمال (GEM) الوطني لقطر 2023/2024، الذي نُشر بالتعاون مع بنك قطر للتنمية، إلى أن قطر احتلت المرتبة الثالثة في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا والخامسة عالميًا في مؤشر السياق الوطني لريادة الأعمال (NECI) بنتيجة 5.9، متفوقة على المتوسط العالمي البالغ 4.7.
كما لفت التقرير إلى ارتفاع كبير في معدل نشاط ريادة الأعمال في المراحل المبكرة (TEA) في قطر، حيث بلغ 14.3% مقارنةً بـ 10.7% في العام السابق، مما يعكس الدعم المتزايد للشركات الناشئة وريادة الأعمال في البلاد.
