Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced that July 2024 was the busiest month in its operational history, welcoming a staggering 4.73 million passengers.
This milestone represents a significant 10.2% increase compared to July of the previous year, further solidifying the airport’s status as a leading global aviation hub.
HIA attributes this surge in passenger numbers to several key factors. Airlines partnering with the airport increased flight frequencies to meet the growing demand during the summer travel season. Additionally, Qatar Airways, the national carrier, expanded its destination network and launched seasonal summer operations, enhancing the airport’s connectivity. The total aircraft movements at HIA in July also saw a 3.9% rise compared to the previous month.
The load factor, which measures how full flights are, reached 82.8%, indicating a high occupancy rate for flights operating through HIA. This high load factor reflects the efficient use of available capacity. The previous record for the busiest month was set in January 2024, when HIA served 4.5 million passengers.
The top destinations in July included London, Bangkok, Dubai, Riyadh, and Jeddah, with key countries being India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

أعلن مطار حمد الدولي أن شهر يوليو 2024 أصبح الشهر الأكثر ازدحامًا في تاريخه التشغيلي، حيث استقبل 4.73 مليون مسافر.
يمثل هذا الإنجاز زيادة كبيرة بنسبة 10.2% مقارنة بشهر يوليو من العام السابق، مما يعزز مكانة المطار كمركز عالمي رائد للطيران.
وأشار المطار إلى أن هذه الزيادة في أعداد المسافرين تعود إلى عدة عوامل رئيسية، منها زيادة شركات الطيران الشريكة للمطار في وتيرة رحلاتها لتلبية الطلب المتزايد خلال موسم السفر الصيفي. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، وسعت الخطوط الجوية القطرية، الناقل الوطني، شبكة وجهاتها وأطلقت عمليات موسمية صيفية، مما عزز من اتصال المطار. كما شهدت حركة الطائرات في مطار حمد الدولي في يوليو ارتفاعًا بنسبة 3.9% مقارنة بالشهر السابق.
وبلغ معدل معامل الحمولة، الذي يقيس مدى امتلاء الرحلات، 82.8%، ما يشير إلى ارتفاع معدل الإشغال للرحلات العاملة في مطار حمد الدولي. ويعكس هذا الرقم الاستخدام الفعال للقدرة الاستيعابية. وكان الرقم القياسي السابق لأكثر الشهور ازدحاماً قد سجل في يناير 2024، عندما خدم مطار حمد الدولي 4.5 مليون مسافر.
وكانت الوجهات الرئيسية في يوليو هي لندن وبانكوك ودبي والرياض وجدة، بينما كانت الدول الرئيسية هي الهند والولايات المتحدة والمملكة المتحدة والمملكة العربية السعودية والإمارات العربية المتحدة.
