Ashghal Wins 10 International Safety Awards

For the fifth consecutive year, Ashghal, represented by the Roads Projects Management, announces winning ten international safety awards from the British Safety Council for various infrastructure development projects in 2024.

The awarded projects include road and infrastructure projects in Umm Salal Ali and Umm Al Abariya, South Umm Al Amad and North Bufaisileh (Package 1), East Wajbah (Package 3), North and East Khisah (Package 2), Umm Salal Mohammed (Package 1), road leveling works in West Umm Salal Mohammed (Package 1), Abu Samrah Border Crossing development project, completion of remaining works in Doha Industrial Area, and road improvement works in the Western areas. The efforts of the Health, Safety, and Workers’ Welfare team at the Roads Projects Management were also honored with the International Safety Award.

Engineer Saud Al Tamimi, Director of Roads Projects Management at Ashghal, stated: “Winning ten international safety awards for the fifth consecutive year, following eight awards in 2023, nine awards in 2022, four awards in 2021, and three in 2020, is a testament to Ashghal’s commitment to continuous progress and its priority to safeguard the health and lives of workers. Safety is a cornerstone of our project execution strategy and a culture we strive to promote and uphold.”

The International Safety Awards, now in their sixty-sixth year, recognize organizations worldwide that have successfully prevented workplace injuries and illnesses, as well as those committed to well-being and mental health in workplaces. The awards ceremony took place in June last year in London, attended by distinguished representatives from various global institutions and participants.

Engineer Abdulaziz Al Mahandi, Project Engineer at the Roads Projects Management, represented Ashghal at the ceremony, stating: “In 2023, approximately 32,000 workers were involved in various Roads Projects Management projects, achieving a 0.07 incident rate per 95 million work hours. These numbers reflect the magnitude of effort exerted by the management and its commitment to providing the highest health, safety, and social care standards for workers on site.”

Health, Safety, and Workers’ Welfare Team – International Safety Award

The Health, Safety, and Workers’ Welfare team received the International Safety Award in recognition of their diligent work and commitment to implementing an effective occupational health and safety management system. Key elements included adherence of all Ashghal officials to safety standards, proactive risk identification and management, a robust training program to enhance competencies and knowledge transfer, involvement of all staff levels in occupational health and safety matters, setting health and safety objectives, monitoring achievements for continuous improvement, and regular contractor oversight by management.

Umm Salal Mohammed Road and Infrastructure Project (Package 1) – International Safety Award with Distinction and Best State Project Award

Since its commencement in December 2020, the project has achieved 7.5 million work hours without incidents or accidents. The project, managed by the main contractor Hamad Bin Khalid Contracting Company, involves approximately 1,114 workers, alongside subcontractors.

The project includes a 36 km road network, a 54 km surface and groundwater drainage system, a 15.8 km treated water network for future green areas, and a 10 km drinking water network. Additionally, the project provides street lighting, traffic signals, and 4,310 parking spaces.

Umm Salal Ali and Umm Al Abariya, South Umm Al Amad and North Bufaisileh (Package 1) – International Safety Award with Distinction

Commencing in May 2021 by Metito Company, the project employs 303 workers and has achieved approximately 3.5 million work hours without incidents since its inception. The project will provide integrated road networks and infrastructure for the region.

Abu Samrah Border Crossing Development Project – International Safety Award with Distinction

Implemented by Tadmur Contracting Company since August 2021, employing 478 workers, the project achieved 8 million work hours without incidents. The project includes expanding and doubling the capacity of immigration buildings for incoming and outgoing travelers, increasing vehicle capacity from 9 to 24 each, providing 48 tourist lanes accommodating 12,000 vehicles entering and leaving Qatar, developing 4.5 km of border roads, and infrastructure improvements in the area.

Completion of Remaining Works in Doha Industrial Area Project – International Safety Award with Distinction

Commenced by GIC Contractors and Services in June 2023, the project has achieved 578,480 work hours without incidents to date, employing 218 workers. The project aims to enhance vital infrastructure services in the area.

Road Improvement Works in Western Areas Project – International Safety Award with Distinction

Commenced by Atticat in December 2022, the project has achieved 801,060 work hours without incidents to date, employing 314 workers. The project includes temporary road construction, protecting existing facilities, providing future service channels, street lighting, and traffic signals.

North and East Khisah Road and Infrastructure Development Project (Package 2) – International Safety Award with Distinction

Implemented by China Railway since August 2021, involving 1,581 workers, the project has achieved 1.6 million work hours without incidents since its commencement. The project aims to provide internal road networks covering approximately 53 km, traffic safety elements, advanced street lighting systems, pedestrian and bicycle lanes covering 106 km, and over 7,000 parking spaces. The project also includes infrastructure development services in the area.

East Wajbah Road and Infrastructure Development Project (Package 3) – International Safety Award with Merit

Commenced by Gulfar Al Misnad Engineering and Contracting in February 2021, employing 341 workers, the project achieved a record 3,863,646 work hours without incidents. The project aims to provide an integrated road network alongside shared paths for pedestrians and cyclists, dedicated parking spaces, landscaping, sewerage, surface and groundwater drainage networks, and potable water lines.

West Umm Salal Mohammed Road Leveling Works Project (Package 1) – International Safety Award with Merit

Implemented by Marbu Contracting Company in February 2023, the project has achieved 928,707 work hours without incidents to date, employing 422 workers.

للسّنة الخامسة على التوالي، تعلن هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال” ممثلة في إدارة مشاريع الطرق عن فوزها بعشرة جوائز دولية للأمن والسلامة من مجلس السلامة البريطاني عن عدد من مشاريع برنامج تطوير البنية التحتية للمناطق خلال عام 2024.

تشمل المشاريع الفائزة مشروع الطرق والبنية التحتية في منطقة أم صلال علي وقرية أم العبرية، جنوب أم العمد و شمال بوفسيلة (الحزمة 1)، مشروع شرق الوجبة (الحزمة 3)، مشروع شمال وشرق الخيسة (الحزمة 2)، ومشروع أم صلال محمد (الحزمة 1)، ومشروع أعمال تسوية الطرق في غرب أم صلال محمد (الحزمة 1)، ومشروع تطوير منفذ أبو سمرة الحدودي، ومشروع تنفيذ الأعمال المتبقية من أعمال المنطقة الصناعية بالدوحة، ومشروع أعمال تحسين الطرق في المناطق الغربية. كما كلّلت جهود فريق الصحة والسلامة ورعاية العمال بإدارة مشاريع الطرق بالفوز بالجائزة الدولية للسلامة باستحقاق. 

وبهذه المناسبة، صرّح المهندس سعود التميمي، مدير إدارة مشاريع الطرق في “أشغال”: “إن فوز مشاريع الإدارة بعشر جوائز دولية للصحة والسلامة للسنة الخامسة على التوالي وذلك بعد الفوز بثمانية جوائز في عام 2023، وتسع جوائز في عام 2022 وأربع جوائز في 2021 وثلاثة في 2020، هو أفضل دليل على التزام الهيئة على التقدم المستمر وحرصها على الحفاظ على صحة العمال وحياتهم كأولوية، حيث تعد السلامة ركيزة أساسية لاستراتيجية تنفيذ المشاريع وثقافة تعمل الهيئة على نشرها والالتزام بها”. 

وتكرم جوائز السلامة الدولية، التي تدخل عامها السادس والستين، جهود المنظمات والمؤسسات في جميع أنحاء العالم التي نجحت في منع الإصابات والأمراض المتعلقة بالعمل، وكذلك المنظمات الملتزمة بالرفاهية والصحة النفسية في أماكن العمل. وقد تم توزيع الجوائز في الحفل الذي أقيم في شهر يونيو الماضي في لندن، وسط حضور مميّز للكثير من المؤسسات والمشاركين من مختلف أنحاء العالم.

وحضر الحفل ممثلاً عن “أشغال” المهندس عبد العزيز المهندي، مهندس مشاريع في إدارة مشاريع الطرق، حيث قال: “خلال عام 2023 بلغ عدد العاملين في مختلف مشاريع إدارة مشاريع الطرق ما يقرب من 32 ألف عامل وقد حققت الإدارة نسبة وقوع إصابات وحوادث في مواقع العمل 0.07 خلال 95 مليون ساعة عمل. وهذه الأرقام تعكس حجم المجهود المبذول من قبل الإدارة والتزامها بتوفير أعلى معايير الصحة والسلامة والرعاية الاجتماعية للعمال في مواقع العمل.”

فريق الصحة والسلامة ورعاية العمال التابع لإدارة مشاريع الطرق – جائزة السلامة الدولية باستحقاق

فاز فريق الصحة والسلامة ورعاية العمال بجائزة السلامة الدولية باستحقاق بفضل عملهم الدؤوب والتزامهم في تطبيق نظام فعّال لإدارة الصحة والسلامة المهنية يشمل عناصر أساسيّة منها التزام جميع المسؤولين بالهيئة بمعايير الصحة والسلامة وتطبيقها، ووضع منهج فعّال لتحديد وإدارة المخاطر قبل حدوثها، وتنظيم برنامج تدريبي لتعزيز الكفاءات ونقل الخبرات، وإشراك جميع الموظفين بمختلف درجاتهم الوظيفية في كل ما يتعلق بالصحة والسلامة المهنية، بالإضافة إلى وضع أهداف الصحة والسلامة ورصد الإنجازات في هذا الصدد بهدف التحسين المستمر، إلى جانب تعيين مقاولي الباطن مع القيام بالمراقبة الدورية لأدائهم من قبل الإدارة.

مشروع الطرق والبنية التحتية في أم صلال محمد (الحزمة 1) – جائزة السلامة الدولية بامتياز وجائزة أفضل مشروع على مستوى الدولة

حقق المشروع 7.5 مليون ساعة عمل بدون إصابات أو حوادث منذ بدء تنفيذه في ديسمبر 2020، ويعمل بالمشروع حوالي 1,114 عامل تابعين للمقاول الرئيسي شركة حمد بن خالد للمقاولات، إلى جانب المقاولين من الباطن التابعين له.

يشمل المشروع شبكة طرق بطول 36 كم، وتشمل الأعمال الرئيسية إنشاء شبكة صرف مياه سطحية وجوفية بطول 54 كم وشبكة مياه معالجة بطول 15.8 كم لتخدم المناطق الخضراء المستقبلية، إلى جانب إنشاء شبكة مياه صالحة للشرب بطول 10 كم. كما تشمل الأعمال تزويد الطرق بالإنارة وتوفير الإشارات المرورية واللوحات الارشادية وتوفير 4310 موقفاً للسيارات. 

مشروع أم صلال علي وقرية أم العبرية، جنوب أم العمد و شمال بوفسيلة (الحزمة 1) – جائزة السلامة الدولية بامتياز 

بدأت أعمال المشروع في مايو 2021 من قبل شركة متيتو، ويعمل به 303 عامل، وقد حقق حوالي 3.5 مليون ساعة عمل بدون حوادث منذ بدء تنفيذه. وسيوفر المشروع شبكات طرق وبنية تحتية متكاملة للمنطقة.

 مشروع تطوير منفذ أبو سمرة الحدودي – جائزة السلامة الدولية بامتياز 

بدأت شركة تدمر للمقاولات في تنفيذ المشروع في أغسطس 2021 ويعمل به 478 عامل، وقد حقق 8 مليون ساعة عمل بدون حوادث. يتضمن المشروع تطوير ومضاعفة السعة الاستيعابية لمباني الجوازات لخدمة القادمين والمغادرين حيث تمت زيادة السعة الاستيعابية لكل منهما من 9 مركبات إلى 24 مركبة. كما تم توفير 48 مسار سياحي بطاقة استيعابية تخدم 12 ألف سيارة في الدخول لدولة قطر و12 ألف سيارة في الخروج من دولة قطر، بالإضافة إلى تطوير الطرق الخاصة بالمعبر بطول 4.5 كم، وأعمال تطوير البنية التحتية بالمنطقة. 

مشروع تنفيذ الأعمال المتبقية في المنطقة الصناعية بالدوحة – جائزة السلامة الدولية بامتياز 

بدأ تنفيذ المشروع من قبل شركة جي أي سي للمقاولات والخدمات والتجارة في يونيو 2023 وقد حقق إلى الآن 578,480 ساعة عمل بدون حوادث، ويعمل به 218 عامل. وسيعمل المشروع على تعزيز خدمات البنية التحتية الحيوية بالمنطقة.

مشروع أعمال تحسين الطرق في المناطق الغربية – جائزة السلامة الدولية بإمتياز

بدأ تنفيذ المشروع من قبل شركة أتيكات في شهر ديسمبر 2022 وقد حقق إلى الآن 801,060 ساعة عمل بدون حوادث، ويعمل به 314 عامل. يشمل المشروع إنشاء طرق مؤقتة وحماية المرافق الحالية وتوفير قنوات الخدمة المستقبلية وأعمال إنارة الشوارع والإشارات المرورية.

مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية شمال وشرق الخيسة (الحزمة 2) – جائزة السلامة الدولية بامتياز

بدأت شركة شاينا رايلواي بتنفيذ المشروع في أغسطس 2021 والذي يضم 1,581 عاملاً، وقد حقّق 1.6 مليون ساعة عمل بدون حوادث منذ بدء تنفيذه. يهدف المشروع إلى توفير شبكة شوارع داخلية بالمنطقة بطول حوالي 53 كم وتوفير عناصر السلامة المرورية وأنظمة متطوّرة لإنارة الشوارع. كما سيتم توفير مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية بطول 106 كم وتوفير أكثر من 7,000 موقف للسيارات. كما يتضمن أعمال تطوير خدمات البنية التحتية بالمنطقة.

مشروع تطوير الطرق والبنية التحتية في شرق الوجبة (الحزمة 3) – جائزة السلامة الدولية باستحقاق

بدأ تنفيذ المشروع في فبراير 2021 من قبل شركة جلفار المسند للهندسة والمقاولات ويعمل به 341 عامل، وقد حقق المشروع رقماً قياسياً بتحقيق 3,863,646 مليون ساعة دون حوادث. ويعمل المشروع على توفير شبكة متكاملة من الطرق إلى جانب مسارات مشتركة للمشاة والدراجات الهوائية ومواقف مخصصة للسيارات وأعمال الزراعة والتشجير. كما ستوفر شبكات للصرف الصحي والمياه السطحية والجوفية والمياه المعالجة، بالإضافة إلى خطوط المياه الصالحة الشرب.

مشروع أعمال تسوية الطرق في غرب أم صلال محمد (الحزمة 1) – جائزة السلامة الدولية باستحقاق
