Deliveroo Qatar Announces Summer Initiatives to Support Riders

[3, June 2024] – Doha, Qatar: Deliveroo Qatar announces the launch of its summer rider initiatives this year, designed to enhance the well-being and safety of its riders during the summer months in Qatar. The initiatives, which will run from June to September, underpin Deliveroo’s commitment to support riders, enabling them to feel refreshed and well-hydrated while continuing to provide excellent service.

Yazan Aburaqabeh, Director of Operations Middle East, emphasised the company’s dedication to rider welfare stating: “We are deeply committed to ensuring riders’ safety, comfort, and overall well-being. Our summer initiatives are a testament to our continuous efforts to support and appreciate our riders. Cooling towels and vests

To improve rider comfort during the summer, Deliveroo has further invested in its rider kits which include cooling vests designed to lower body temperature and cooling towels that utilises advanced cooling technology. 

Windshield Visors & Sunglasses

Bike windshield visors are introduced to protect riders’ mobile phones from overheating, ensuring improved visibility while on the road and safer navigation on delivery routes. Additionally, Deliveroo is distributing safety sunglasses to protect riders’ eyes from harsh UV rays, ensuring they can stay safe on the road.

Deliveroo Summer Vehicles 

In consideration of the challenges posed by the summer heat, and in compliance with the Ministry of Labour’s regulations, riders will be using cars to execute delivery orders between 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. This allows for delivery during peak hours while guaranteeing the safety and comfort of our riders. 

Hydration Essentials 

To keep riders hydrated, Deliveroo is installing ice machines at accommodations, distributing insulated refillable bottles and electrolytes packets, and providing water bottles and juice boxes via a Deliveroo truck throughout the day.

Recognition Initiatives

Throughout the summer, fun and engaging events will be organised to keep riders motivated and foster a sense of community. Each month, top-performing riders and car fleet members will be awarded bonuses to recognize and reward their exceptional service.
