Geneva International Motor Show Cancels Geneva Edition; Set to Return to Qatar in November 2025

The Geneva International Motor Show made a significant announcement on May 31, 2024, revealing the cancellation of its Geneva edition and the continuation of the Qatar edition in November 2025.
Despite efforts to relaunch the show in February 2024 after a four-year hiatus due to COVID-19, uncertainties within the automotive industry and the declining appeal of major European shows led the Board of the Comité permanent du Salon international de l’automobile Foundation to decide against further investment. Alexandre de Senarclens, President of the Foundation, expressed regret over the lack of manufacturer interest, competition from other European shows, and the financial requirements necessary to sustain the event.
While recognizing the efforts of the operational teams, led by Sandro Mesquita, Alexandre de Senarclens emphasized their commitment to reviving the motor show post-pandemic.
In contrast, GIMS Qatar remains on a positive trajectory. With a successful first edition and a unique concept, Sandro Mesquita, CEO of GIMS, expressed confidence in the event’s future, highlighting its appeal to brands globally and its strengthened presence in the Middle East.
The next edition is scheduled for November 2025 in Doha.

في المقابل، يستمر معرض جنيف الدولي للسيارات في قطر على مسار إيجابي. مع النجاح الذي حققته النسخة الأولى والمفهوم الفريد، أعرب ساندرو ميسكويتا، الرئيس التنفيذي للمعرض، عن ثقته في مستقبل الحدث، مشيراً إلى جاذبيته للعلامات التجارية عالميًا وتعزيز وجوده في الشرق الأوسط.
من المقرر أن تُقام النسخة القادمة في نوفمبر 2025 في الدوحة.
