New System for School Transfers Based on Home Location Introduced

The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) has implemented a novel system for relocating students from one government school to another, based on the proximity of their residences starting from the academic year 2024-25. The objective is to streamline transportation and alleviate traffic congestion.

This initiative enables parents with children attending government schools to relocate them to a school nearer to their new residence.

Hamad Abdul Aziz Al Yafei, Head of the Student Admission and Registration Section at MoEHE, stated, “Parents who have moved to a new area can request the transfer of their children to a school closer to their new home via the MoEHE Maarif Portal for Public Services.” He emphasized that parents need to submit an online application along with proof of address, such as the electricity account number of their new residence. “Under the new scheme, students will be automatically transferred upon completing a level, based on the geographical proximity of their homes,” added Al Yafei.

Upon completion of each level, whether from primary to preparatory or preparatory to secondary, the transfer process will be initiated.

Al Yafei assured that parents will promptly receive notification once the transfer is finalized, providing details about the new school. Addressing concerns about siblings attending the same school, he confirmed that this matter was addressed in March, allowing siblings to transfer to the same institution.

While acknowledging potential challenges in adapting to the new transfer system, Al Yafei emphasized its benefits for parents, particularly in terms of time savings, especially for those with multiple school-going children.

Early electronic transfer for Qatari nationals, children of Qatari women, and GCC citizens will take place from May 19 to June 20, 2024, followed by registration for all nationalities from June 9 to June 20, 2024. Electronic transfer will reopen at the start of the new academic year for all nationalities from August 26 to September 30, 2024. Registration and transfer of students through specialized schools will be open from April 28 to June 20, 2024.

From August 26 to September 30, 2024, students will be registered through schools for eligible nationalities, adhering to registration conditions outlined in the Ministry-approved admission policy.

أكد حمد عبد العزيز اليافعي، رئيس قسم قبول الطلاب وتسجيلهم في MoEHE، “يمكن للآباء الذين انتقلوا إلى منطقة جديدة طلب نقل أبنائهم إلى مدرسة أقرب إلى منزلهم الجديد عبر بوابة MoEHE Maarif للخدمات العامة.” وأشار إلى أن الآباء يحتاجون إلى تقديم طلب عبر الإنترنت مع دليل على العنوان، مثل رقم حساب الكهرباء لمنزلهم الجديد. “تحت النظام الجديد، سيتم نقل الطلاب تلقائيًا عند اكتمال مستوى معين، استنادًا إلى القرب الجغرافي من منازلهم”، أضاف اليافعي.

عند اكتمال كل مستوى، سواء من المرحلة الابتدائية إلى المرحلة التحضيرية أو من المرحلة التحضيرية إلى الثانوية، سيتم بدء عملية النقل.

أكد اليافعي أن الآباء سيتلقون إشعارًا فوريًا بمجرد اكتمال عملية النقل، مع توفير تفاصيل حول المدرسة الجديدة. وفيما يتعلق بالمخاوف المتعلقة بنقل الأشقاء إلى نفس المدرسة، أكد أن هذه المسألة تمت معالجتها في مارس، مما يسمح للأشقاء بالانتقال إلى نفس المؤسسة.

مع الاعتراف بالتحديات المحتملة في تكييف النظام الجديد للنقل، أكد اليافعي فوائده للآباء، بشكل خاص فيما يتعلق بتوفير الوقت، خاصة لأولئك الذين لديهم أكثر من طفل يذهب إلى المدرسة.

سيكون النقل الإلكتروني المبكر للطلاب القطريين وأطفال النساء القطريات ومواطني دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي من 19 مايو إلى 20 يونيو 2024، يليه التنقل الإلكتروني لجميع الجنسيات من 9 يونيو إلى 20 يونيو 2024. سيتم إعادة فتح النقل الإلكتروني في بداية السنة الأكاديمية الجديدة لجميع الجنسيات من 26 أغسطس إلى 30 سبتمبر 2024. سيبدأ التسجيل ونقل الطلاب من خلال المدارس المتخصصة من 28 أبريل إلى 20 يونيو 2024.

من 26 أغسطس إلى 30 سبتمبر 2024، سيتم تسجيل الطلاب من خلال المدارس للجنسيات المؤهلة للقبول وفقًا لشروط التسجيل المحددة في سياسة القبول التي وافقت عليها الوزارة.
