Qatar Bans Travel for Unpaid Traffic Fines, Offers 50% Discount for Early Payments
Starting September 1, 2024, individuals with unpaid traffic fines will be prohibited from leaving Qatar through any border until all fines are settled. Brigadier Abdullah Khalifa Al Muftah, Director of Public Relations at the Ministry of Interior, announced this during a press conference on May 22, 2024.
From this date, violators must pay their fines through the Metrash2 app, the Ministry of Interior’s website, traffic sections, or unified service centers before they can travel by land, air, or sea.
The same rule applies to vehicles leaving the country. To obtain a permit, the vehicle must have no outstanding violations, the destination must be specified, and the applicant must be the vehicle owner or have the owner’s consent. Vehicles traveling to GCC countries and goods transport vehicles are exempt from this permit requirement.
Additionally, to encourage early payment, a 50% discount on traffic fines will be available to Qatari citizens, residents, visitors, and GCC citizens. This discount applies to violations recorded within the past three years and will be effective from June 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024.

ابتداءً من 1 سبتمبر 2024، سيتم منع الأفراد الذين لديهم مخالفات مرورية غير مدفوعة من مغادرة قطر عبر أي حدود حتى يتم تسديد جميع الغرامات. أعلن ذلك العميد عبد الله خليفة المفتاح، مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة الداخلية، خلال مؤتمر صحفي عُقد في 22 مايو 2024.
من هذا التاريخ، يجب على المخالفين دفع غراماتهم عبر تطبيق مطراش2، موقع وزارة الداخلية، أقسام المرور، أو مراكز الخدمة الموحدة قبل السفر براً أو جواً أو بحراً.
ينطبق نفس القانون على المركبات المغادرة للبلاد. للحصول على تصريح، يجب ألا تكون هناك مخالفات مرورية على المركبة، يجب تحديد الوجهة، ويجب أن يكون مقدم الطلب هو مالك المركبة أو يحمل موافقة المالك. تُستثنى المركبات المتجهة إلى دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي ومركبات نقل البضائع من شرط الحصول على التصريح.
بالإضافة إلى ذلك، لتحفيز الدفع المبكر، سيتم تقديم خصم بنسبة 50٪ على غرامات المرور للمواطنين القطريين والمقيمين والزوار ومواطني دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي. يشمل هذا الخصم المخالفات المسجلة خلال السنوات الثلاث الماضية وسيكون ساريًا من 1 يونيو 2024 حتى 31 أغسطس 2024.
