FIFA Approves Arab Cup, Qatar to Host 3 Editions

In a meeting in Thailand, FIFA has approved the Arab Cup and decided to hold three editions of the tournament in 2025, 2029, and 2033, all to be hosted by Qatar, according to Saudi channel “Al-Ekhbariya”.
His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sport and Youth, had previously stated that Qatar expressed its desire to host the next edition of the Arab Cup, building on the success of the 2021 edition, also held in Qatar under FIFA’s auspices. The tournament is scheduled for December 2025 in Qatar under FIFA’s umbrella.
He added, “The 2021 Arab Cup demonstrated to the world the capabilities and development of Arab teams. The tournament was a success organizationally and technically. We hope that everyone will support this step, as holding the tournament under FIFA’s umbrella gives it greater importance.”

قرر الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (الفيفا)، خلال اجتماعه في تايلاند، الموافقة على بطولة كأس العرب FIFA وإقامة ثلاث نسخ منها في الأعوام 2025 و2029 و2033، حيث ستستضيفها جميعاً دولة قطر، وفقًا لقناة “الإخبارية” السعودية.
وكان سعادة الشيخ حمد بن خليفة بن أحمد آل ثاني، وزير الرياضة والشباب، قد أعلن في تصريحات سابقة عن رغبة دولة قطر في استضافة النسخة القادمة من كأس العرب، لتكون استمرارًا للنسخة الأخيرة التي أُقيمت في قطر عام 2021، تحت مظلة الفيفا، ومن المقرر أن تُقام البطولة في ديسمبر 2025 في قطر، برعاية الفيفا.
وأضاف سعادته: “أثبتت بطولة العرب في عام 2021 قدرة المنتخبات العربية وتطورها، ونجاحها على المستوى التنظيمي والفني. نأمل من الجميع دعم هذه الخطوة، ولا شك أن إقامة البطولة تحت مظلة الفيفا ستمنحها أهمية أكبر.”
