Doha Festival City is stepping up its sustainability game with a fresh Reverse Vending Machine (RVM). Launched on Global Recycling Day, this machine on the Ground Floor at Welcome Court A makes recycling plastic bottles and cans a breeze.
Here’s how it works: drop off your bottles and cans, the machine sorts them and gives you rewards. Soon, it’ll also handle glass and plastic shredding.
This move underscores Doha Festival City’s commitment to a greener future. Robert Hall, Director of Asset Management, emphasizes, “Integrating technology with sustainability has always been central to our mission. The RVM is a major step toward a greener future.”
“We invite everyone to join us in making a positive environmental impact,” he adds. “It aligns with our brand ethos ‘It’s My Place, My Choice’, showing our dedication to community sustainability.”
The mall is implementing waste management and water conservation measures. You can even charge your EV there, and 80 dining outlets participate in a food composting program, benefiting the mall’s landscaping.
