11th Edition of Qatar’s International Agricultural Exhibition to Kick Off Wednesday

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the 11th edition of Qatar’s International Agricultural Exhibition – AgriteQ 2024 will begin on Wednesday at the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, with the participation of several local and international agricultural entities and companies.
The AgriteQ supports local farmers and the local agricultural product by displaying modern agricultural techniques and exploring new horizons for improving the Qatari agricultural sector, which plays an important role in raising self-sufficiency rates in certain commodities and foodstuffs.
It is a unique platform for promoting agricultural and technological investments in the State of Qatar and strengthens trade ties with participating countries. The countries participating in Expo 2023 Doha will have a vital role in enriching and making the exhibition a success, offering an exceptional opportunity to enhance cooperation between the State of Qatar and these countries.
The exhibition will feature diverse events and activities in agricultural, animal, cultural and entertainment fields.
The Ministry of Municipality’s keenness on organizing the AgriteQ annually is within the framework of the great interest that the State of Qatar attaches to the advancement of the agricultural sector in different agricultural, animal and fishery fields as well as support and assistance provided to this vital sector, one of the important economic sectors in the country aiming to achieve food security and realize the objectives of the strategic plan of the Ministry of Municipality and the third national development strategy 2024-2030.
The Ministry stated that organizing this exhibition underscores the state’s increasing interest in the agricultural sector in recent years to attain major breakthroughs in local production, increase self-sufficiency rates and achieve food security, pointing out that this year’s edition is a continuation of the success of the past ten events that witnessed a local and international participation.
It explained that the exhibition serves as a direct gateway to access the latest global technological innovations that support the national trend towards expanding the scope of agricultural production to meet the local demand for food products in accordance with the objectives of the Qatar National Food Security Strategy, which represents a comprehensive framework for improving the level of self-sufficiency in line with best practices and the latest agricultural and food technologies.

الدوحة: تحت رعاية معالي الشيخ محمد بن عبدالرحمن بن جاسم آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء وزير الخارجية تنطلق الأربعاء المقبل، فعاليات النسخة الحادية عشرة من معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي 2024، وذلك في إكسبو 2023 الدوحة للبستنة، بمشاركة العديد من الجهات والشركات الزراعية المحلية والعالمية.
ويهدف المعرض إلى دعم المزارعين المحليين، والمنتج الزراعي المحلي، من خلال عرض التقنيات الزراعية الحديثة، واستكشاف آفاق جديدة للارتقاء بالقطاع الزراعي القطري الذي يسهم بدور هام في رفع نسب الاكتفاء الذاتي من بعض السلع والمواد الغذائية.
ويشكل المعرض منصة فريدة لتعزيز الاستثمارات الزراعية والتكنولوجية في دولة قطر، ويسهم في تقوية الروابط التجارية مع الدول المشاركة، حيث سيكون للدول المشاركة في إكسبو 2023 الدوحة، دور حيوي في إثراء وإنجاح المعرض، والذي يعد فرصة استثنائية لتعزيز التعاون بين دولة قطر وهذه الدول.
وسيتضمن المعرض العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة المتنوعة التي تشمل المجالات الزراعية والحيوانية والتثقيفية والترفيهية.
ويأتي حرص وزارة البلدية على تنظيم المعرض الزراعي سنويا، في إطار الاهتمام الكبير الذي توليه دولة قطر للنهوض بالقطاع الزراعي بمختلف مجالاته الزراعية والحيوانية والسمكية، وما تقدمه من دعم ومساندة لهذا القطاع الحيوي، باعتباره أحد القطاعات الاقتصادية الهامة بالدولة، بهدف تحقيق الأمن الغذائي، تحقيقا لأهداف الخطة الاستراتيجية لوزارة البلدية، واستراتيجية التنمية الوطنية الثالثة 2024 – 2030.
وأكدت الوزارة أن تنظيم هذا المعرض يؤكد على الاهتمام المتزايد للدولة بالقطاع الزراعي خلال السنوات الأخيرة، بهدف تحقيق طفرات كبيرة في الإنتاج المحلي لزيادة معدلات نسب الاكتفاء الذاتي وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي، لافتة إلى أن دورة هذا العام تأتي استكمالا لنجاح الدورات العشر الماضية، التي شهدت حضورا محليا ودوليا.
وأوضحت أن المعرض يعد بوابة مباشرة للوصول إلى أحدث الابتكارات التكنولوجية العالمية التي تدعم التوجه الوطني نحو توسيع نطاق الإنتاج الزراعي لتلبية الطلب المحلي على المنتجات الغذائية، وفق مستهدفات “استراتيجية قطر الوطنية للأمن الغذائي”، التي تمثل إطار عمل شامل لتحسين مستوى الاكتفاء الذاتي وفق أفضل الممارسات وأحدث التقنيات الزراعية والغذائية.
ويأتي تنظيم المعرض ضمن الجهود المستمرة لوزارة البلدية لدعم القطاع الزراعي في الدولة، ومن بينها إطلاق العديد من البرامج والمبادرات التسويقية لمنتجات أصحاب المزارع مثل إنشاء ساحات بيع المنتج الزراعي القطري، وبرنامجي الخضراوات المميزة ومزارع قطر، بهدف تعزيز قيمة المنتج المحلي من الخضراوات.
